Hello from Canada . I own the exact same shifter on my 2007 legend and all the bolts unscrew but just keep turning and I have no access to go behind . Question do you know if I have the rubber gromets also and should I force slowly with a crowbar like you did . Note I have carpeted wall. Also the reason I want to remove it is only to remove the handle to replace the shifter spring so it locks into neutral and do you know the spring part number Thank you. Great video Regards David
I am not familiar with your boat, but I have done several removals with a crowbar on a similar boat because the bolts were going round. As I showed in my video, most of the bolts are the same because they absorb the vibration from the handle. I recommend slowly pulling out one side to see if the rubber comes out, and then continue with the rest. Don't be afraid to pull a little harder. I am sure the bolts are going round because they are rubber-made nuts. Good luck!
Kann man die auch auf eine Höhe von 450mm bauen? Wäre angenehmer unterm Auto zu arbeiten. Und wie sieht es aus das man hinten auch noch mit hoch kommt?
The part number for the controller is pinned in the first comment, but here it is for you again. part number: Mercury Side Mount Remote Control (881170A13, 881170A14)
Thanks for the video. I sure wish you had disassembled it and put it back together. I have taken mine apart and it looks just like yours. For the life of me I can't figure out where the brass bushing and the funny shaped plastic plate with three holes in it goes. The rest I have figured out. Some parts just fell out when I removed the back plate. Hope you are still checking this video for comments and you can help me out.
Hi, it's difficult to say much without having seen your controller. But if you've disassembled the controller like I did, there shouldn't be anything falling off unless something is broken or loose. Also, if you've disconnected the wires, some washers and metal pieces might fall off. However, I haven't seen any brass parts inside mine. It's a mix of aluminum and steel parts. You can check out videos that describe the details more clearly and also refer to the manual to see if you can find your part number there. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-mdkFnqor-Is.html ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-rYJ-95FJf40.html www.parts-marine33.fr/wp-content/uploads/2020/09/BOITIER-LATERAL-HB.pdf God lock👌👍
Also, check the cable. In many cases, there may not be anything wrong, but the cable itself might be stiff or caught, causing the handle to become stiff. You need to detach the cable from the motor and then move the handle to see if it's stuck.
@@ThinkTechnikk Thanks. A smooth small round brass object flat on the top and bottom fell out when I opened up the case. I have a feeling it goes underneath the plate that is bolted to the handle. One day I will figure it out. My controller looks just like yours and I am betting if you took it apart there is a small brass part that fits the description I just gave. Thanks again. The piece I am referring to is about the size of the end of a pinky finger. Thanks again. Let me know if you figure out where you think it may go. Everything else is working as it should but I am afraid to complete the project not knowing where this part goes.
"You must decide for yourself. But I have been using this method for about 4 years now and checked it after long trips, never experienced it getting hot. It gets a little warm but not hot. Thank you for your interest. Remember to remove it if you want to deliver the car for service or periodic inspection."
Can imagine the unevenness of the discs and rotors after this. If the brake rust wont come off after driving for a little bit with stop and go, you probably have something else wrong like stuck calibers, guide pins or something that is preventing the pads from squeezing your rotors.
very good idea, make a video, when there is no leak, brake pads and disc are good, but pedal is low., what is the reason, master cylinder or anything .
