NB: Watch this video before you purchasing eny brake discs and pads on your car. About 70% of brake discs are replaced without the real need for replacement and without checking the condition of disc pads properly. 🙁🙁Don't do this mistake again, save your money and environment🌿🌞🍃🌴🌱🌷 Watch my video first. (You need a medium good Grinding Stone any type for 5 to 10 Dollar)

Thanks for a really useful video. I'm not looking forward to doing this, but I wasn't looking forward to buying new brake disks either. One more thing to be aware of - some cars don't like it when one wheel turns for a long time like this. The management system interprets it as a fault and the ABS warning light comes on. In my experience it's nothing to worry about; drive it around for a while, it'll sort itself out and the warning light will go out.
@pcno2832
@pcno2832 Год назад
In some cases, the traction control system or limited-slip differential might kick in and try to turn the wheel that's still on the ground, so it is necessary to understand which of these systems are on the car and how they work. In any case, if the wheels to which the parking brake applies are on the other end, that brake should be activated. If that can't be done, all the wheels on the ground should be blocked.

Your work is awesome, love it!...I live in NY State, so got a question as if I were to do this myself, as close possible to what you did, and then proceed to get it inspection, what's to stop any shop from telling me, "You just worked on these by hand, sorry...not going to pass them unless "WE" rework them again!"....do have a vehicle needing inspection soon....but of course if the vehicle on the road for awhile before an inspection was due, no one probably couldn't tell the difference of the work by hand!....yea, I'm caught between a pad, and a rotor!...lol, thanks again for your handy work!

Pull off all four discs and soak in white distilled vinegar overnight.. scrub lightly and rinse.. DONE. I give you credit for hard work.. but please if someone does this method, don't dry sand the rotors. That dust is toxic and you don't want to be breathing it in.
@LogicGate
@LogicGate 3 года назад
2nd this method. Best to use Apple Cider Vinegar. It works absolutely 100%, less mess and work. Still a sand might be required to flatten surface and ensure proper bite from breakpad.
@crpth1

Plus 1, on vinegar or electrolysis first and leave the mechanical intervention for last. Makes for a lot easier and effective result. Tip: Sometimes is not easy to find a recipient that suit the task. But a large flower pot plate or even some plastic pizza plates. Tend to be the perfect size for disc brake dipping. Get two of them, so you have a "cover". It will diminish a lot of evaporation of the liquid. ;-) Cheers

This would only work if you DO NOT have a limited slip differential, it is recommended you lift the whole front of the vehicle up if you intend to use this method, I would not leave a power wheel sitting in the ground… very dangerous.

This is a good resurfacing technique to get things smooth. Always wear a respirator, and safety glasses,protect your lungs and eyes. If you just need to remove the rust off the rotor and they are the style like in this video where you can unscrew and remove them you can just soak them in vinegar and it will dissolve most of the rust off of them. This will make the work easier and you can see more of what you are doing as far as surface.

@ThinkTechnikk
@ThinkTechnikk 4 года назад
this is standard system for all car. all car have something called differential. Simply a differential is a system that transmits an engine's torque to the wheels. The differential takes the power from the engine and splits it, allowing the wheels to spin at different speeds. ... Turn it around a corner and you'll have no issues, as each wheel is able to turn independently from the other. you can lift one side the car and lett torn the other side.

The particular type of sand paper is not fundamental. BUT given the chance, get some aluminium oxide wet and dry sand paper on a cloth reinforced back, instead of paper. OK! All this "mumbo jumbo" mean something rather simple! LOL 😂 Sand paper from a belt sander. Usually fit all these requirements. If you don't loose it. Does that method of 1 wheel turning on a all wheel drive car and would you loose friction if the rotor is thinner then it was?
@ThinkTechnikk
@ThinkTechnikk 3 года назад
Yes the method is sam but also depends on type of vehicle yo have , always 1 wheel turn free if you lift it up the other. But for instance if you have a car like Tesla or other 4 wheel drive el car . You can simply lift up one side of the car and work with both front and rear wheel. because both turning. You are not losing friction but if your rotor is thinner than the required thickness specific for your car . so this could be dangerous ,and it may be cracked under the large overload baking. Dont do this, thats so dangerous, youre lucky you have all fingers still. If your willing to go this far take the disc off and either replace it or take it to a local machine shop, theyll just turn the surface clean in a few mins

Kauf eine neue Bremsscheibe diese ist abgenutzt und der Arbeitsaufwand ist die Ersparnis nicht wert.

I hate you. I thought I was being clever thinking of doing it with a sanding stone instead of a lathe or power tools but you beat me to the punch. Congrats

Angle grinder with a flap sand disc. Is also an excellent option and works even faster. The wheel spinning and the angle grinder speed, really make short work of this task. My preferred option and curiously I'm also "i Norge"! ;-)
