Hi Lilian! Thank you so much for making this informative video. I know you stayed at CJ, but I will be staying at Anam Global House and I am not able to find anyone who can help me out with the queries, so I was be very grateful if you could. I am flying out in just one week and will be staying there for 6 months. 1) Do we carry our bedding(such as bedsheets, quilt, pillow, etc.) from our hometown or is it possible to get these in the dormitory as well? If yes, is there a cost involved? 2) What equipment is there in the kitchen? Is there a blender, microwave, oven? 3) Do we need to carry our cooking utensils from our home town or purchase in Korea or are there ones available for use in the kitchen of the dormitory? 4) Is there any cafeteria for us to eat food in the anam dormitory? 5) Are there any gym or dedicated exercise areas in or around the dormitory? 6) Is there a bidet in the bathroom or only toilet paper? 7) Are there any ATMs closeby? I know these are a lot of questions and I would really appreciate your help if you could take out a few mins to answer them so that I can better prepare myself for the upcoming stay at the dormitory! Thank you so much!
Hi, thank you for watching. I've been meaning to make an update video for the last 2 years and never got to it. I can honestly say I still love and get excited to go to work. I love being a nurse! PCU/Step-Down is a tough unit to work and stay in, and I always wanted to work with a higher acuity. I moved to an ICU 2 years ago and I have plans to go to grad school! I'm much more confident and more experienced and I still love what I do. There are definitely times that I get stressed or feel slightly burnt-out, but that's more because of specific patients/conflicts with others. Otherwise, I'm so happy with my chosen career. Hopefully I actually get to making a video about this. Thank you for asking.
Hi! I'm starting and ABSN program this summer! I am attending a very well known and accredited nursing program in Tennessee, does pretty much every nursing program meet the educational requirements for licensure in CA? or was that something you looked at before starting your nursing program? My boyfriend and I (California natives) will most likely move back to California in a few years, however, I assumed all accredited nursing programs would suffice for California RN licensure... any clarification helps :) thank you!
Hello, The requirements are not all the same nation wide. To get into nursing school or to qualify for a license in California, there is a list of prerequisites that must be completed. I have heard that typically, microbiology and oral communication are the classes people tend to need when applying for California licensure. Here's a link listing some of the requirements for out-of-state applicants. I would browse the CABRN website for more up-to-date information! www.rn.ca.gov/applicants/lic-end.shtml Aside from the prerequisites, I do believe any accredited nursing program that is approved to have their students sit for the NCLEX would be acceptable! Hope this helps :)
Hi Lilian, thank you so much for your video. I`m from Puerto Rico and will take the NCLEX soon but I do wanna move to LA once I get some experience, is there anything different or any other steps I need to take in order to transfer my license to Cali ? Thank you !!!!
hey lilian!! thank you for this video!! did you have any trouble in regards to the communication prereqs that the BRN lists? I did all my hard science prereqs in CA but never had to take an oral communications class, did u have any hiccups in regards to that?
I am a us citizen and applied for CA RN license. Received license number within 4 weeks. It was a simple and straightforward process. Just follow the steps on the website.
hi yes i've seen multiple people say it's not required on the application anymore.... this video is relevant to when i endorsed my license in march of 2021! please make sure to check the actual cabrn website before starting your application to make sure you have the most up-to-date information. thanks for watching!
Will it matter if I had my nursing school expedite the transcripts and sent it to the Californias BON physical address rather then the PO Box listed?? My school said they cannot expedite to PO Box’s since it will be fed ex that does the deliveries for the expedited requests… if not I guess I can ask my school to mail to PO Box
What if I have a bachelor's already and want to apply to an accelerated program in Utah ? Will my science courses and other classes transfer back if I get my degree from Utah to California ? Do they have an expiration ?. Please let me know. Thank you
Hello, Lili! Thanks a lot for this video. I’m following the list on the website but it’s great to know how other RNs (like yourself) experienced it first hand too. Congratulations on this one! Good luck!
So when I get to attachments, I only see need to submit Nursys verification. It does not say to submit headshot there. I don't want to submit and not be able to submit 2x2 later on. I might wait until I have my pic to submit app
Hi please read the video description. I’ve seen a few comments saying headshots are no longer required. My video was relevant to applying for endorsement in 2021! I would check the BRN website requirements just to be sure. Good luck.
I’m actually trying to move to Nevada to do the pre-licensure program at WGU. I then want to move back to CA. I would want to endorse my license. Anyone know more information with endorsing to CA from this school?
awesome, I've been a LPN in Las Vegas for over a decade, opportunities here are awful unless you want to work LTC or rehab with a 10+ census every shift. California, Washington and Oregon seem to have tons of better paying, quality positions. Thank you for the whole process, LiveScan is much better. edit: I received a job offer in CA for 3 times what I was making in Vegas, but I need to hurry and apply for a CA license. This is a great tutorial<3
what job did you receive in CA? Me and my. Friends are LVNs in CA and the job options are terrible 😭 I’m going back to school for RN just not sure if I should do it in CA or AZ and then endorse bc my LVN is from CALI
Hi! Thank you for this video it was very informative. I am looking to work in California after I graduate nursing school in May 2023. Do you know if the state of California requires a microbiology lab? I would be coming from out of state and I just want to make sure I meet all of the requirements. Thank you so much!
Hello, Yes! I took all my prerequisites in California and we were required to have micro w a lab, chem w lab, anatomy w lab, and physio w lab to qualify for a nursing degree/license
Hi. Was it hard getting a job after graduating Roseman? I read in reviews and someone said people take the school as a joke, but the review was from awhile ago
ummm... i don't know if it was directly related to Roseman but i did have a hard time getting a job. in my opinion it was because i had mostly virtual clinical experience so the specialized units i applied for didn't consider me. think your experience is taken into account more than your school. for example, getting experience as a tech on the unit you plan to apply for would probably make you more competitive than pure clinical experience, and in my case i didn't get any specialized clinical experience. at the end of the day, you still have that bsn so it *shouldn't* matter!
They do! I just went to school when Covid hit so all the hospitals stopped allowing students for a while 🤷🏻♀️idk how it is now… but I got to do 3 clinicals rounds and that was it (fundies, adult health 1, preceptorship)
Hi Lili :) ,Would you recommend getting your fingerprinting done before submitting the temporary license application? I’m scared it will delay it longer because I am out of the country.
Okay!! Im definitely subscribing!! I loved every bit of your vlog and it got me excited all over again. I went to ptdla day 1 with my 4 yr old baby army and we had a ball too!! Much love babe💜💜💜💜💜
@@jofallout I enjoy it so far! i'm in the in person cohort which I love and the course load is a lot but more manageable than expected! and the 90% requirement seems daunting but with handwork its doable!
@@nicolleswanson4081 that’s awesome! I hope you continue to do well. I have to figure out how to balance studying and mental health. I know it’s brutal and I’m not a science major so it’s kinda scary
you should not have to retake the nclex if you already have passed with a license from another state. nclex is a national test, so as long as you meet all the requirements for california endorsement, you shouldn't have to retake the test.
hii!! i’m not sure if you still answer considering this video is a year old but i start training on monday and i was just wondering if you know what i could expect/any helpful tips you might have! this is my first job ever so i’m a little nervous 😭😭
hi, sorry this took so long. by now I'm sure you've been going through a lot of the online modules(?) to help remember ingredients and steps, I'd look up quizlets or make flashcards! my trainer made flashcards for me and then when i practiced on hot bar, we'd write it on the machine with the chalk pen so I'd have something to reference. focus on getting the technique and the ingredients and steps right, then work your way towards proper sequencing and speed. it takes time, but it's a lot of fun if you've got the proper support... also just try your best in any position you're at. at the beginning I hated being support or a warmer, but support ended up being my favorite position outside of hot bar LOL. on the register, take pictures and try familiarize yourself with where everything is. the register has a system and it makes sense if you understand how the drink is made. you can also look at the menu on the starbucks app to help you learn the recipes. good luck :)
