Hi! I was really lucky with my workplace since my manager was very forgiving and flexible with my scheduling. I only worked weekends fri-sun, but eventually switched to just sat-sun. When I had more free time from school, I would pick up shifts during the week whenever I could. During times when I had clinicals, since I wouldn’t get my schedule until a week or two before, I would ask my manager to plan to take me off the schedule for the weeks I was doing clinicals and then I would offer to pick up shifts on my free days to make up for the hours. It wasn’t difficult per say to do work and school mostly because I was able to stay at school late into the day to study what I needed and make sure I did most of the studying then work on the weekend and review after. It really comes down to having good time management!! I was fortunate to have my family supporting me, so working wasn’t a necessity or priority for me during school.
