I saw this video from start to end and I noticed that there is not even one "clean" sound in it. Every sound has some level of distortion in them. Weird eh? I don't know if it's the synth engine or the designer who made these sounds, but it's really a deal breaker for me. Oh well..
At around 7 min. I thought "wait a minute, all these can't be factory presets.." and THEN I read the description.. For a moment there I almost believed that Novation actually took the time to make interesting presets. That would be a revelation.. Really nice patches by the way, they should consider you designing sounds for them.
I received one of the first production models which I immediately returned. Novation discussed my reasons and I pointed out that the Summit sounded like it had a major top end filter roll-off. I listened to your demo and it is clear Novation didn’t see fit to fix this. What a crying shame. A great synth ruined.
Perhaps 'ruined' is a strong word. I own the Novation Summit and enjoy its pads and other sounds quite a bit. I haven't personally noticed any roll-off, but maybe I'm missing something...
Well done. I would love to see Akai release a new version of this with a USB port and librarian/editor software. It truly is/was a "monster" machine, especially given its original price point.
@@carlomezz Thks , yep i used to own the novation , those were great i shouldn't have sold it for NI crap ....lol (sold it because automap was a pain to handle in plugin folders) Exellent playing by the way . ...
@@carlomezz ok I try but on my machine there no stereo effect, the internal effect section Is summed in mono, what a shame thing! The only way Is to use an external effect section like zoom stomp etc. I try all the option, the headphones Is summed to mono too.
It's the first part of J.S.Bach's Prelude in C minor, BWV 934. I play the whole piece here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-encZFoSybrA.html
There's no specific cello patch atm, but they are working on further developments. Btw, despite being based on physical modeling, the majority of presets are more oriented to creative sound design than straight imitation.
Where did we buy these knobs? I am very pleased with them, I have the same for my Q, but I am currently having a hard time remembering or finding where I originally bought them from or what the brand is? Qool video!
Helpful and well done, as is your written review. I've seen videos with the LEDs on the sliders all one color and videos with them in different colors. Are those colors adjustable as well as the brightness? If they are, do all the Beringer Odysseys have this feature?
Brightness is adjustable. About changing the colors, it's not an onboard parameter, but I know that someone did it... I guess you would have to replace the physical LEDS.
@@carlomezz 8000€ in very good and working condition… It’s affordable in a relative way, even if the previous owner probably acquired it for a fraction of that price 🙂
Not for now. The patches that I played in my three Pro 3 videos were done during a couple of years, among a million other things. When I find the time to select/organize them in some logical way, I could offer them for sale or download.
Took a friend and I two years to restore mine. I couldn't even turn it on when I bought it, awful shape. I have a few videos up on my channel if you want to hear it now.
