I do still have it! Life has changed a little some I'm not riding or making videos as much. The garmin gps froze up on me one day, and now all it does is tell me what direction I'm going in. Or it doesn't come on at all. Luck of the draw sometimes. Lol. I do have a Bluetooth adapter on the 30 pin Ipod connector in the saddlebag, but haven't used it in a long time. I ended up just getting a Bluetooth setup in my helmet for music if I decide I need something to listen to. Mechanically and performance wise, she's still wonderful. The wife may start riding this one and I may go into the market for a Stratoliner Deluxe. Lol. They've caught my eye most recently. Good luck on your journey!
@richhornor I purchased a v star 1300 a few months ago that is all stock. I put 8000 miles on the bike in 2 months. I like the bike and would purchase it again . Did you get a 1300 ?
@richhornor congrats! Oddly enough, mines for sale! Lol. Ended up finding an awesome deal on a Kawasaki Voyager 1700! Hopefully I'll get to do a video or 2 by the end of the season. Lol
So I'm in Ontario, Canada, and I had the shop I bring the bike to pull it out and send it down. They were also changing out the bars and adding the air intake while it was there. I imagine there was a bit of a mark up on their end, plus Canadian to US dollar exchange. It was probably around $450 to $500 worth of the overall bill. If you pulled it out and sent it yourself, it'd probably be a smidgen cheaper. Just estimating at this point.
great vid. I got a 650 v star and have had no problems cruising. Put 19780km and still going in my first year. Sep 2nd will be my 1st year. i've had my 650 doing 140/142kmph. has just under 80 thousand and bought it at 59385. Love the v stars
OmG bro , We have so much in common . I love bikes and I've played guitar and fronted many many cover bands . We should definitely ride somewhere sometime . Maybe crash an open mic or something . You seem super cool guy too !
Dude, love these vids. I just picked up a 14 1300 Deluxe and I love it. Came over from a Honda Fury but I feel like i can ride the Deluxe all day long. There are like no one doing videos for these bikes. I saw a couple of different wind shield on your bike over the videos. Where are you buying them from?
Thanks for the love! I've been lazy and haven't really done much with the channel in a while, but thank you for watching! As for the wind shield, the clear one was stock, came with the bike. And then the shorter one, I actually ordered right from Yamaha. They're a bitch to find now though. 😒
I have a 2013 vstar 1300 now and love it. But a shadow 750 can ride on the highway. My first bike was a shadow 750 and I daily rode it about a hundred miles a day 95% of it was on the highway with a 75mph speed limit and i always ride farser than that lol. I even went on a 3 thousand mile ride with my shadow 750. Never had any issues with my shadow and I rode that thing very hard everyday.
Just picked up a 2011 Honda Shadow Aero - one of the biggest draw cards for me was the way it looks and how it makes you feel. It wasn't a massive step up speed wise, but stability, build quality and enjoyment wise, its huge. Really feel in love with it the moment I saw it and sat on it. I found a good change in mind set was "Just cruise" and I started to enjoy the bike a lot more.
I bought a shadow aero 2007 with 11k Miles for $3600 . I knownyou love them how did I do honestly? I live in california and this is my first bike . Thank you live your channel 🙏
I like the video and know that stretch well. I ride my V Star 1300 Tourer on the 401 from Bell River to Ojibway Parkway back and forth to work. The assorted tunnels are great.
Was probably still pretty green and learning on that bike. But also, not a whole lot of low end torque as far as I'm concerned. Not meant to be a rocket at the starting line. Lol
Thanks for posting this ride! I just bought an ‘06 Shadow Aero. Didn’t realize it didn’t have a fuel gauge…what do you do to keep an eye on your gas tank?
I would just keep an eye on your milage. May be some trial and error involved, but eventually you'll figure out how many miles you'll get before you have to swap to your reserve. And every time you fill up, reset your trip meter.
No sir. Didn't come with one. I want to say it went upwards of 200km before I'd have to switch to the reserve tank. Give or take. It was a while ago so I'm not 100% on that.
@@Bluemajick1914 these are the Kuriyakin ISO grips. I need to do some minor adjustments on the throttle lock to make it a smidge more secure, but they both seem to be working well together. Hope that helps!
Everybody's Comfort level is different I own a 2001 Honda Shadow vt750 Ace I live in Detroit Michigan I take that bike to Chicago on a regular basis Detroit to Chicago is 350 miles takes about 4 hours and I have no problem writing that 750 for 4 hours straight other than gas stops people have been riding 750cc Motors forever up until about 25 years ago the 750 was the big dog motor now we have 2500, 1800 1300 11:00 my second bike is a Honda ST1300 and yes it has more power and comfort than my Ace 750 but I have no problem taking my 750 cross country
How does it cruise 85mph ? Here in Texas speed limit is 80mph and speed of traffic is 90-95mph most of the time. Thank you and great review thats up to date 👍
@@vadereighty-eight6612 yep that’s the last mod I’m planning to do. To be honest, everything I already have on it (including 31 Tooth) pulley swap has it at about 100hp and plenty of power. I did the pulley swap because I always felt like I needed that extra 6th gear for cruising. I love this bike and am excited to see what Ivan’s ECU flash does to it. Cheers mate, subscribed 👍
@@dguz3702 much better! Except Occasionally I still reach for a 6th gear every now and then. But it’s not nearly as much then with 30T pulley as now with 31T pulley.
I have a 2014 1300 Deluxe that I bought last year and rode it for the season. But this winter I pulled the ECU and sent it to Ivan. The flash woke my bike up. I'm totally amazed at how much restriction the manufacturer and the government puts on bikes.
@@Bluemajick1914 There's no video around of it being taken out. But it is very easy to remove. Take seat off the bike. Stand on the left side of the bike and look down. Running parallel with the frame you will see a rubber boot. Carefully lift the rubber boot and under it you will see 2 wire harness clips. Release those clips and lift them out of the way. Now you can lift the ECU out.
Do you mods (exhaust, air intake, power commander 5) on your bike? If so… did Ivan’s ECU flash help fuel economy? I get to 95 miles to the tank before my reserve fuel light comes on. What do you get now MPG ? Thank you for answering these Qs🙏
To remove the stock air filter assembly and install the Cobra Powrflo intake takes about 45 minutes. To remove the ECU takes about 15 minutes. So you could have bought the Powrflo for $600 at Fortnine and sent off your ECU yourself and done the job for about $1200.
Right? The mark up was stupid. But I'm not super confident with that kind of stuff tbh. I'd rather a professional work on it. And if anything screws up, I just bring it back to them. Lol. Thanks for watching!
@@vadereighty-eight6612 I presume you know the ECU cannot be restored to stock unless you send it back to Ivan ? If you do that the 02 sensor will need to be plugged back in and the stock air filter assembly will need to be installed otherwise the bike will be running even leaner than it was when stock.
I'm thinking about one of these.. anybody ride 2 up.. I just putt around.. an hour 1 way on back roads would be about it.. I have had about everything.. all the way up to electraglides and a valkyrie.. but looking to down size
