Worlds Adrift is the latest adventure from Bossa Studios, the creators of hit games ‘Surgeon Simulator’ and ‘I am Bread’. It’s an unscripted, sandbox game with real-time physics, set in a world that is permanently changed by players’ actions. This new breed of MMO is set in a universe that was destroyed by the overmining of its precious levitating mineral, the Atlas stone. All that remains of the planet surface are the thousands of floating islands still rich in the precious mineral and scattered with artefacts from the many lost civilisations.
Either working alone or with a crew of friends, players will choose their own path, create their own stories, and tell their own tales as they explore the shattered remains of a once great world in their own skyship.
Been playing Forever Skies recently. It doesnt hsve the same magic as WA especially considering its SP but the shipbbuilding mechanics andd the vibe come pretty darn close. Check tthis game out if youre looking for something to fill the void a little
I still listen to this song while crying in a fetal position in the shower, because I know I'll never be able to play World's Adrift again... Sure we have Voids coming out... if it ever does.. But it will never be Worlds... 😢

@@The_Totes_Adorbs not necessarily considering that this project is a smaller scale and doesn't require the same server system and engine, which is what made the cost so unsustainable the first time around. The bossa devs are clearly passionate about this project, and it didn't make money, so it's not like it's a cashgrab.
@@The_Totes_Adorbs Ideally, both will do well, perhaps with different attributes. I suspect the professionally developed game will move faster though, since it has been years since development started on voids adrift. WA is a game that is absurdly hard to replicate due to SpacialOS, the server and physics tech, etc. I'm glad the voids adrift team has been working at it, but I think it'll be a while before they can successfully get far, especially without much funding/entirely self motivated :s
It's nearly been 5 years and I'm still crying man. Bossa, with your work on this game, and the work done on the ost, you've impacted people more than I think can truly be appreciated. I truly wish that there was some way, even expensive, to host this game (even at a loss) from a third party or community. You created something truly amazing. I wish that it was the success that all your work should have given you. This has been and will continue to be my favorite game of all time. I'm hopeful for the future with Lost Skies. Maybe we can eventually get multiplayer again the way it was before, truly special with all the interactions and unique people I met. I'm just glad to know for sure that the devs truly still care as much as the people like me that come back to these videos and songs every year. I'm glad that the legacy won't end here, for better or for worse.
Lost skies is coming guys. Bossa is working again. It's (at least now) going to be co-op rather than an mmo, but im hopeful that someday we will be able to host servers like original WA. I'm very hopeful for the future. I am genuinely willing to spend as much as I can work to host a true multiplayer server myself, in some fantasy world. This game was too good for this world. I get torn up evwry time I remember I missed the ending.
GOOD NEWS. MAYBE. LOST SKIES IS IN DEVELOPMENT. Looks like a smaller scale co-op worlds Adrift, but that could be more sustainable for the devs! Maybe a step towards full multiplayer again someday?? The same composer will be doing the ost too!
