I was laughing at points, glad to see someone else suffering during this gruelling mission. You did better than i did so kudos, but yeh maximum respect to pilots who do this in IRL
I've really enjoyed following along with your missions. I learnt alot. Thank you. Ive used the red flag campaign to learn the f16c (which is my first dcs aircraft module) its quite a learning curve but i recommend anyone sticks with it.
I am no Hog expert, but I think thrust reduction together with landing flare causes that over rotation of the nose during touchdown. Propably A-10s thrust vector pushes the nose down if the thrust line is above the center of pressure.
Hi, I haven't played for a long while but I'd say Syria still is the most impressive. Especially the detail extending to Cyprus as well. Altho Sinai also top notch too
Thank you, I'm hoping to have a new computer & some free time to do some more again before the year is out. Missing all the goodies releasing at the moment for sure. Hope you're well too
@@lankypilot778 good stuff. I hope you're getting the family stuff sorted and that everything is good there. I am looing forward to a driving around video from Kola and Afghanistan :) Oh, and some campaigns too.
I just read several books of slick drivers in vietnam. So great to see a lot of the stuff mentioned in those books implemented into these missions. Myself I feel mastering flying a Heli incredibly difficult, although I do have the modules...so unless I find the time to put in some serious hours of practice I will be hopelessly lost would I try to fly the missions. So thanks for still making it possible for me to be on board!
so I'm not the only one to struggle with flying in formation lol it's a nice mission but the most difficult thing for me is the refueling and the formation flying.
That was an awesome mission, and a great promotion for the Gezelle, as I'm sure some people bought the module after watching this video (I know I'm sold on it now). That poor crew chief looked heartbroken losing his ship, I hope you did get him that beer.
Good stuff Lanky enjoying your run in this campaign and that naughty man in the orchard with the bazooka - took a bite outta my tail stab., made em pay on the swing round. Really good how the options gives scope for choice - you nailed that truck well - I wanted to do the same but got caught in an awkward angle couldnt get the shot but managed to tell the gate to take em out
I am loving this mission pack, the best by far. Thought I would come and search to see how the FM Homing works as I haven't done this before, very helpful video. I did find and pick up LRRPs but more by searching mountain tops SW of the reservoir till I found the flames and noticed them. Going to retry the mission again just to practice FM Homing. Question, is the flashlight a mod? I don't ever recall seeing that in the key bindings? I have been using the night vision goggles instead. In fact I did most of the mission with NVG and it made flying in and landing at the hot LZ even more terrifying. By far the best mission so far. Amazing job those guys did
This mission was kind of annoying with the 9 liners and no rough indication ( coordinates ). I also feel this campaign kind of overdo the flight time to action. If something goes wrong your up flying for 45 minutes again. 😢
Excellent. I've had the 'hog for a few years, but I never bothered to learn it. Started last night, so things like adding way points, particularly UTM waypoints, is not something I've come across before. Yeah, I know. RTFM. But I'm reading plenty of FM just to get airborne and fire weapons, learning how to enter waypoints was a little out of the blue, so - cheers, mate!
Hi, do you mean first persoon for combined arms & driving vehicles? or DCS in general? If you have working head tracking in aircraft it should work the same with vehicles, I don't remember setting it up in control section. Altho if its not working, you may have to
thank you for your reply. I use the Tobii Eye Tracker and it works for the first person view of the aircraft, but not for the first person view of the weapon/vehicle combination. Could it be related to not being able to use external head tracking? (Tobii eye tracker does not support head tracking from an external perspective in DCS World.)@@lankypilot778
Thanks, no definitely not tutorials my vids. All the campaigns I tackle are basically me learning the aircraft further as I go, gives you a good feeling of progression. People who watch are generally in same boat & find it enjoyable seeing me fumble working it out
looks like a lot of fun for a small price, i easily spend more time creating battle scenarios than practicing my planes and ED seems to want to evolve to a more full scale war sim than just an aircraft sim on top of a warzone so they may get back to it
Yeah 100% agree. They definitely mentioned with increase in plane modules in game now, there's eventually going to be stage when have to look at ground. Even already watching mortars & tanks battling is a lot of fun. I put a few ww2 planes above a town when normandy 2 came out & had a ball watching flack firing & dogfights above while driving around in jeep. Can't wait to see in 10yrs time
@@lankypilot778 its definitely on my list now for next sale, while the first oerson vehicle control seems mostly like a fun gimmick now, I want to be able to send forces around the map to support me doing an air assault for example
I just bought it Feb 22, 2024. I can’t go beyond where Paco is taking to us on the apron. Once that part end it just stays there, I can move the camera around, there is sound but it doesn’t start the campaign.
Hi, sorry to hear that. First up do you have or ever had user mods installed? That's usually the first cause of any campaign issue, even I had one during this campaign. If not then I suggest posting on Reflected's mission section on dcs forum & hopefully can help get sorted.
Yeah thats the one I had running too. Even when it seems no relation & shouldn't conflict, mods can still mess campaigns up apparently. Let me know if it sorts it out :)
@@lankypilot778 ok I've just got a 27inch curved monitor, if i use head tracking wont it be a bit odd looking over my shoulder but still trying to see the monitor?
I've never used a curved monitor, but should be fine. You can play with sensitivity to what feels natural, so you can be looking 180° in game but never look past the sides of your monitor. How much head movement depends on settings. For me I don't even notice how much I'm turning my own head anymore, it just feels totally natural to what I see in game. It took a week or so to get used to it, but it's amazing how brain adapts.
Can we get ED to improve the driving physics and add some car mods? The capability for the engine to provide an expansive driving simulation is really neat.
I agree. They have mentioned several times wanting to add full fidelity vehicles in the future which I'd imagine includes improved physics & damaged modelling. I don't think anything short term tho unfortunately
