Great content! My wife and I never cruised before, but are leaning towards smaller ships. However, we would like to do some shorter cruises on larger ships, but are concerned that we will be left with a bad impression since we lean towards quieter, more relaxing settings. Are there any cruise lines in the middle?
Look into Princess’s older ships. There are no roller coasters or water parks or Broadway shows. But the itineraries are varied and often call on ports mega ships can’t.
Will a travel agent be able to find me a better price on a cruise and flight from east coast, or is it better to just book online with celebrity? Can anyone recommend an agent if that’s the best way to go?
Unfortunately the narrator doesn't know how to pronounce the "st" letter combination and it's irritating to hear him mispronounce words like: restriction and history and restaurant over and over again.
Uniworld includes free liquor, room service, massage service and more than one choice of shore excursion each day. I think this writer was paid for his Viking review.
It irks me that i have to pay the all inclusive raye for my toddler who is technically sharing a room with me. Doesn't make sense to apply that rate to undersage kids.
I've been on two DCL cruises, the Wonder in 2012 and the Fantasy in 2014. They were both amazing vacations and I had the best time. I hope you'll do reviews of some of their other ships someday soon.
Awesome video! Our family trip is July 20, 2024, on the NCL Bliss got my cabin, wardrobe and binoculars to take in all the nature and beauty of Alaska. We've already booked our excursions and I am most excited about the helicopter glacier tour. Thank you for sharing.
If you’re going to make a video with a voice track, learn how to SPEAK CLEARLY. Skipping syllables makes your words sound unintelligible. Pronunciation never goes out of style. One can always get a job as an actor if your RU-vid video gig falls through. The only thing I don’t understand is why young people take cruises. When I was young, I solo backpacked and hitchhiked my way across Europe in the sixties without a cellphone, internet or even much money ….and I was a girl! I have been to every continent. Even now I’m yet to take my first river cruise and that’s strictly because of limited mobility. Wouldn’t be caught dead on an ocean cruise for love or money. Where’s your sense of adventure? If I was active I would never consider a river cruise at all. Kids these days seem to lack the ability to go out into the world and discover new experiences on their own without somebody holding their hand and giving them permission. Get a Eurail pass and a backpack! The world awaits…..
Thank you for review, I see that it was posted October 16 but what were the actual dates of the cruise? Did it finish on the 15th, week earlier? I am curious as you said you only really saw color at one port of call.
We are in mid-June 2024, is it too late to book a Princess cruise to Alaska in September 2024? I’m thinking of booking a balcony cabin on the Royal Princess for September. I’m concerned about cabin location. Any other things to consider booking 3 months out?
A few years ago, my husband and I went on our first cruise ever - a Viking cruise through Portugal. It was FANTASTIC! They made us feel like we were the ONLY people they ever took out on a cruise. The staff was wonderful - made us feel exceptionally welcome, pampered...the food was extraordinary, fabulous service!!!!! Kudos, Viking!!! It was a vacation of a lifetime!
I appreciate these videos. It’s because of videos like these we decided to not get a balcony room and instead get an interior so we could spend that money on once in a lifetime excursion experiences. Can’t wait for our Alaskan cruise in 2025.
Sounds great. No casino. No drunks. I am single, not a TV watcher, like mellow music, excellent service, quiet environment, and gracious people. No noise. Great scenery. Lots of books, white tablecloths. Interesting people.
my brother and his wife just returned from the Amsterdam to Budapest. Everything was great until due the river being higher than normal, the boat could not fit under a bridge. Everyone was put on a bus for an 8 hour overland crummy ride to their destination, missing out on the three meals per day and entertainment they PAID for on the boat. They were put up in a crummy hotel in Czechoslovakia, and another half decent one in Budapest. Even though the Viking cruise line knew in advance that the river was too high, they did not tell or contact the customers, warning them of the bus and hotel treatment to come. No refunds were given nor offered. BUYER beware and check the river conditions before buying the very expensive boat trips.
Years ago I cruised out of Seattle towards Alaska on Norwegian, and a separate time on Holland America! The Norwegian Cruise Lines departure was filled with energy, with a buffet on the top deck; there was excitement, there was fun in the air. When I cruised out on Holland America it was absolutely dead. There was no music, there were no announcements, there was no departure party! It was silent. Perhaps it's changed, but I've avoided them since then.
Never been on any type of cruise but have not been afraid to roam Europe via trains or autos. Small river cruise sounds interesting to visit the smaller town venues as I've seen many of big Cities. The important thing is know how best it is for you to feel comfortable I'm your surroundings. But travel, any where, if you can as it opens your mind to the world out there. One man's op!
this medallion is nothing but another money grabbing gadget i have been cruising for several decades never have trouble of find assigned dining room cocktail wait staffs could always find me with the drink unlike after grocery shopping that you prefer to have another pair of hands for holding the paper bags it is beyond comprehension there is a lot of hassle for opening the door during the holiday unless the vacationer is staggering-- Drunk like a SKUNK this paid promotion is just a pile of trashy talk
