12 Things You Should Never Do On a Cruise
We get a lot of questions about what you should do on a cruise. But things you should not do are equally important. When we polled our community of avid cruisers about tips for things to avoid doing on a cruise, we got some great responses.
Unsurprisingly, the number 1 thing these cruisers told us they would never do on a cruise is rude to the staff. There really is no need to be condescending or berate crew members.
Another thing you will not catch pro cruisers doing on a cruise is taking items from their stateroom. Even if you have a drink package, items like bottled water and the mini-bar are probably only included if you're on a premium cruise line. This also goes for items like robes, slippers, binoculars, or other accessories in your room.
Likewise, expert cruisers would never be caught trying to sneak prohibited items onboard. Irons, steamers, hot plates, and bottles of alcohol are typically banned on a cruise ship. However, most cruise lines allow two bottles of wine in a cruiser's carry-on.
Once onboard, regular cruisers make sure to abide by onboard rules and regulations. This means wearing the appropriate attire to the main dining room. They also make sure to not leave items on their balconies or leave garbage or other items out on the pool deck, where they can quickly go overboard. Pro-cruisers also attend their muster. In fact, this safety drill can be done as soon as you board the ship on most lines with e-muster. That way, cruisers can return to having fun on the pool deck.

I have cruised more than five times and bring 2 wine bottles and have never been charged a corkage fee yet
@MJinFlorida
@MJinFlorida 2 месяца назад
Corkage fees only apply when you take your unopened bottle of wine to the dining room or restaurant. There is no fee for bottles of wine you open yourself and keep in your cabin.

It depends on the cruise line and where you consume the bottles of wine. Happy cruising.

@@Eatsleepcruise1 I have all my bottles open at dinner mostly in specialty restaurants, I think if your respectful, they won’t buckle and dime you, plus I always bring much better bottles onboard than what they serve nornally

One thing that irks me the most is people who eat with hats on whether in the dining room or the buffet. Chair hogs who only leave towels on the chairs I have used those chairs. There is no way they can prove that they put their towel down on it.

Thank you for your video, very interesting. Another thing that I have seen on board and I consider that it is not very polite in the buffet restaurant, when the passengers finish eating, they do not leave their table free. On the contrary, they stay playing cards or reading while there are many people at that moment with their plate in hand looking for a free table. Unfortunately I have seen people eating on the pool loungers because of this situation.

Good point! Many ships have lounges and game rooms for individuals to play cards. When is your next cruise?

I think cruise ships should put power stuff they say is safe so the cruisers can use them if they need/want to.

I think cruising is somewhat the same (except extra charges for extra options), but the rest is just changing the same as everything else: everything is more expensive. Flying is more expensive, gas is more expensive, cars, homes, rent, groceries. People are just, in general, shorter-tempered, more entitled, and increasingly rude to one another, soif you put a bunch of people together, it seems condensed. I just treat it the same way I do work and grocery shopping. 😊

@@SipWatchTravelIt depends on whether one’s country has a tipping culture. It’s most customary in the Americas, not so much in Europe and the Asia-Pacific. In Europe it’s appreciated when given as an indication of approval or pleasure with services rendered.

Omg I hope I get to be a "pro cruiser" someday...what a bunch of trash. Tell you what pal, when I shell out 10k for the trip, I'll do basically whatever the fawk I want and I'll do it how I like. I'm the customer - not you, not some other azzhole, not some crew member, ME
