As I commented on a previous video, our experience of the Britannia Restaurant was an absolute disgrace. Although service for Evening Meals slowly improved during the voyage, Breakfast service remained very poor. The problems were not just confined to service either, the Galley was clearly also under immense pressure. For the whole 7 days, we were not once served hot food at Breakfast (who wants to eat cold scrambled eggs?) and at best our Evening & Lunches Meals in Britannia arrived lukewarm. With regards the Speciality Dining food offering, we tried Tramonto (Mediterranean themed) which was excellent, Sir Samuel’s (Queen Anne’s version of The Veranda) which was good but not worth the 45% price hike compared to Veranda, and Aranya, which was a bitter disappointment compared with Coriander (and also significantly more expensive). I do think these venues still need tweaking, for example, I expect a tablecloth on a Cunard ship (white glove service is a core brand value). Also, in Sir Samuel’s they need to think about whether their choice of sides complements their mains, I very much enjoyed the gigantic prawns which are served Asian-fusion style, but don’t work well with classic French vegetable dishes. When we are back on board in August, we are in Grills and the Speciality Dining is not special enough to warrant a revisit vs what is in offer in Grills.

1:51 Britannia Dining This sends my introvert/anxiety personality into a tailspin. 🤣 I'll need to sort this out [mentally] for my upcoming QA voyage in Dec 2024. I'll need on of the tables in the corner 1:57 hahahah! I've been on the QM2 [Transatlantic - US > UK > Norway > UK > US] and QV [UK > Iceland > UK], and both times I've gone to the maître d' as soon as I board. I usually go to the dinning room and scope out the tables I like and I go to them with a list and see if they can lock those in for me. I know we are meant to mingle on cruises, but I really hate being forced to seat with strangers. Oh well, nevertheless, I'm excited for the upcoming trip. 6:22 That burger looks yummy. 12:40 I'm looking forward to trying to new offerings Thanks for sharing. I love the sneak peak into what I have to look forward to.

The amount of history and heritage complementing the scenic locales is overwhelmingly rich...not to be confused with the narrator...I'm pretty sure. It's no wonder The Lord of the Rings franchise had so much richness in its production value on top of what J.R.R. Tolken already had to provide them.

Also , the Artisan hall buffet is nowhere near as good as other Cunard ships …. The chefs serving customers is not going down well with them according to the guy in charge of it … it’s putting a lot of strain on the manpower , and he’s hoping that the full glass front will be changed to half as soon as possible for folk to serve themselves .
@user-ro8dw8ms9n
@user-ro8dw8ms9n 13 часов назад
I don’t think $11 up charge in the Golden lion for a burger is acceptable …. The same burger more or less is available by the pool , the same applies for the veggie burger … just stop penny pinching when folk have already paid plenty to go on the cruise in the first instance.

I must have driven past you last month. I was picking up a car from Southampton, jealously admiring the ship from afar. As a kid, I was lucky enough to go on both the QE2 and QM2. How does Queen Anne compare to the QM2? Is the QM2 still the largest in their fleet? Hope to have the opportunity for my wife and I to experience all this in the near future! Until then, I'll save money by living vicariously through your videos. Great stuff!

We travel on a 17 day cruise September 2023 Lisbon to Lisbon on the Nova and there are some very unusual features on this Silversea ship.I’ve been cruising since the 50s and have the following comments.There are many dinning options but the menu choice is similar in each restaurant and is not varied much .Silver-note is the usual Silversea tapas more like canopies than a meal .I found the food not up to the usual Silversea standard I’ve experienced for many years with them . Since the takeover by Royal Caribbean this is my first experience and noticed a big difference in the dining experience and general standard of service. The ship is a big departure from their other ships in the fleet but personally found it a bit large for the amount of passengers and a lot of empty spaces with repeated uninspiring decor throughout .Somehow I found it too much of a departure from the previous privately owned Italian company and certainly could feel and notice the influence of RCCI in the Silver Nova.Personally disappointing.

Is this champagne or a sparkling wine I am referring to Pol Acker to greet guests on Cunard? Maybe I am wrong but I would not think this was a deink associated with Cunardsurely they can do better than this or have Cunard meaning Carnival completely lst the plot which I am quite sure they have since the Americans took over.

For as long as we have been soaking with them (nearly 15 years) they have gotten return guests with a bottle of Polacker in their stateroom. We believe it’s technically a champagne, though definitely not the nicest one out there 😆 Thanks for watching.

We had a deluxe ocean view on the maiden voyage and we were very impressed with the cabin, especially the separate shower room and the size of the sofa. We are on QA again in October in a Q4 so we shall see what that is like. I think the Q1 is trying far to hard and it appears like Cunard forgot what Queens Grill is all about. A good example is the dining cupboard that seats 6. Really!

Thank you for a great review in contrast to some posted by your English contempories which were abysmal. This included a negative critique of the Noel Coward stage production by some dingdong with obviously no cultural awareness. Perhaps a path between cabin and the Lion pub would have suited better. I cannot wait for your food review.

Oh. Those mountains are really the most! And the perfect ship to be able to see them without tall glass walls or cluttered deck layers with all kinds of tom-foolery obscuring a wide, open view like on some of the newest ships, that, although larger, are somehow strangely claustrophobic in many ways. I don’t mean to complain - well, that’s not true. I do prefer the refreshing open decks of many of the now-considered, “older mid-sized” cruise ships. New Zealand and Australia have become a must for me one day eventually. They really do appear to have everything. This looks like the absolutely perfect cruise to see so very much of it. Wasn’t expecting Scotland!

The best way to know where you are and it works on 99% of ships. Look at two cabin doors next to each other, the lower number is towards the front, even numbers are on the port side while odd are on the starboard side. Sadly the first number or two numbers referred to the deck number, this no longer works on all ships.

A great critique. As always, well put together. - after over 30 cruises on Cunard, I'm not too convinced Queen Anne is for me - but being frank, perhaps Cunard no longer wants to retain their established guests. Much prefering to attract "new" holiday makers; rather than existing cruisers - similar to the attitude of P&O = thanks for the vlogs
@visitwithus
@visitwithus День назад
We tend to agree with you - we think we would still prefer the more traditional Cunard ships. But there’s lots to like about QA too so maybe over time she will build her own fan base 👍 Thanks for watching.
@davidmchugh2512
@davidmchugh2512 День назад
I doubt very much that Cunard doesn’t want to retain its existing guests. The more logical explanation is that they are just moving with the times with this new ship and trying to attract some younger people. I will be worried about Cunard if they stop the QM2 doing the legendary Atlantic crossings, one of which I plan to do next year. I just wish they would reduce the single supplement, my cruise next year will be my first with Cunard since I cruised on QE2 in 1993.
