I emigrated to NZ in 2001 from the UK and I’ve never regretted especially when I watch a great vlog like yours. It’s also reminded me how lucky I am to live in one of the most beautiful places in the world. ( Southland) Known as “ gods own”
Glad you are enjoying NZ but there are not just 2 National Parks in New Zealand, there are 13 , 3 in the North Island/Te Ika-a-Māui and 10 in the South Island/Te Waipounamu
Thank you, you are of course right. I think we meant that it was one of two that we would be visiting on our tour of the South Island but we did make it sound like there were only two in total, our mistake. Thank you for taking the time to watch the video and for commenting 😊
This has become my favoUrite series on this channel. There’s just so much presented and so much I’ve never thought to know about or see in this incredible land. Such a grand adventure and that the cake was saved would make my Indiana Jones inspired hike. Come to think of it, they should have based one of those movies in New Zealand. They have some of the perfect locations and history and lore. I’ve seen videos about the earthquake in Christchurch and how iconic the church was and so with the expense to save it AND earthquake-proof it! They say Southern California has got everything. New Zealand has got EVERYthing!! Oh. To see a high-rise waterfall.
So glad you loved NZ. I feel privileged to have lived in Nelson, Golden Bay in the Able Tasman and Christchurch. Stunning video as always, brought back great memories. In my opinion NZ is the best place on earth and should be on everyone's bucket list. Your video's deserve 1 million thumbs up.
Time flies We are both doing fine although I am just recovering from spinal back treatment which has gone well. Off travelling to Lake Como and Switzerland to celebrate our Silver Wedding Anniv this year. Enjoy you travels and love looking at your travelogs.
I knew it would be well worth the wait. Absolutely fabulous. A joy to watch from beginning to end. I plan to watch it again. I love New Zealand and although I don't think of myself as someone who would enjoy an organized tour like this, I realize that we missed so much on our self-organized exploration of the South Island, which means we must return. What truly puzzles me about your channel is why you don't have hundreds of thousands of subscribers. The quality of the videos you consistently produce deserves that kind of recognition. Thank you for another example of that excellence.
How extremely talanted you are at videoing, very impressed, you have some good footage there. We fly out to NZ on Monday for a month, hiring a car and doing our own thing (not that keen on coach trips) Thanks for showing us around.
Glad you enjoyed your trip! Also, just because you haven’t heard of something doesn’t mean it isn’t world famous, I know people from all over that knew about Fergburger 😂
Haha, we love finding out about things that we’ve never heard of but are famous in a particular place - it’s what being a tourist is all about 😊 Thanks for watching.
Would probably normally baulk at the sound of that, but knowing now how amazing the pies in your part of the world are, we would definitely give that a go 😆 Hopefully we’ll get to come back soon then we’ll seek one out 😂 Thanks for watching.
Thank you so much for an absolutely superb video. The helicopter ride; Queenstown; Milford Sound and Mount Cook views are particularly stunning. My nephew has just returned from a month in NZ, and he said the scenery is unworldly in parts. I can see why ! You were so right to give this just short of an hours viewing time. Anything less would have been criminal !
Kia Ora from Nelson 😊 As a Kiwi, Milford is the eighth wonder of the world.. I thoroughly enjoyed your video. It's lovely to see your country though someone else eyes. Come back soon!
It looks gorgeous! The street art in Christchurch is stunning and it all looks so inviting. We did a helicopter flight from Antigua to Montserrat it was amazing and one off the bucket list i understand Helens excitement. Also Queenstown looks like a lovely place, so picturesque. OMG the Luge! The burger and chocolate was well deserved. Milford Sound looks magical. The video was well worth waiting for, Breath taking 😍
The "dreaded" Cook Strait sorts out the boys from the girls. It can get very rough but it's only a couple of hours in the open strait. Try 3 days in a North Atlantic storm to sort out the men. Hearing the English complaining about the weather is priceless. Sometimes I wonder about the attitude of the British people. Yes, New Zealand is very special compared to the mayhem of England. But why pick out the tiny little things that you find different? I am glad you enjoyed your visit.
Just an excellent travelogue! I’ve been to NZ a few times, though not for many years now, and it was nice to revisit some of the sights and places I had been to. Thought your hotels were particularly nice. 👏👏
I have never been to New Zealand, but with your almost hour long video, I feel like I was right there with you! You took us along your extensive journey, taking in some very amazing views and scenery, even going on a helicopter ride and landing on a glacier (🤔), taking in small “Old Western” towns, eating some delicious food including those tempting pies🥰 I can only imagine the kind of work, time and effort you put in to “bang out” - your term- a video this long- and I so appreciate it! Shall I be awaiting a new video on your trip to India next?🤞🤞
Thank you so much for watching and for your kind words. Yes, there will be two of these style videos on India, one on the Golden Triangle and one on the ship, which will hopefully be out in the next month or two 👍
Those mountain views are amazing! Has a sort of Canadian rockies, Norway, & Alaska feel to it, but different. Glad you guys enjoyed it, especially Helen at the glacier. And Rich, more jokes please 😂
The first bungy jump was actually from Clifton Suspension bridge in 1979 by the Oxford University's Dangerous Sports Club. Kawarau Bridge was the first permanent commercial bungee site.
You win the 'most observant viewer' prize! Yes indeed that was the case, but the Kawarau was where commercial and more widespread bungy jumping began and thus is considered the OG and the 'home' of bungy. :)
Brilliant Video Love It 😊 my wife and i visited in Nov 2022 and were blessed with great weather for our 10day road trip . Queenstown Arrowtown Dunedin Tekapo Aoraki Mt Cook Wanaka and back to Qtown. Also day trip on the coach to Milford. Really liked your reviews of the hotels . We stayed at Alexis Motel in Queenstown and the view was amazing . Thanks again and looking forward to your North Island Vlog .
....Tea-aaa-new .....one word !! ❤ Love the vid !! Worked two years in the South Island (Mount Cook Hermitage) & married in Arrowtown. (....back in '86-87). Have to go back !! Thanks so much !!
"Unfortunately"😂😅🤣 I'm "forbidden" by my physicians and surgeons from Bungy jumping, roller coasters, parasailing, parachuting, bumper cars and getting rear-ended in a vehicle (like I can prevent that🙄) I'm soooo disappointed. I did ride rollercoasters before all the drama though. THANKS for letting me live vicariously through you😁💜
Nice filming. We enjoyed NewZealand too. Unfortunately our glacier trip got cancelled twice, due to high winds. Money refunded of course. We managed a helicopter trip to a glacier in Alaska several years later and went husky sledging on it which was amazing. We were very lucky with our weather in Dec when we went, no rain. The shotover jet up the canyon near arrow town and queenstown was fantastic. Look forward to seeing the other films. Many thanks.
Thank you for watching 😊 A pity that your helicopter ride was cancelled but sounds like you more than made up for it with husky sledging in Alaska (on Helen’s bucket list if she can ever get Rich in a helicopter again 😆).
Sad you didn't get to go to Hanmer Springs - my happy place, and you missed something really special 😢 I understand the ease of a bus your, but you don't get to discover real experiences in 😢
We did go to Hanmer Springs and though we didn’t have long there we too thought it was lovely, so it’s on our ‘must return’ list when we come back to NZ 😁
New Zealand is cursed, but in a good way, you just have to go back to see the places you missed the first time around. A suggestion, next time hire a car and take your time and immerse yourself in the country. If you’re prepared to do something different I can recommend staying in some of the hostels… the jailhouse in Christchurch is what it says a converted 19th century prison and is great fun.
Hmm, yes of course you are right. Think probably Rich meant to say one of two that we would visit on the South Island. Hope you enjoyed the video anyway 🤞 Thanks for watching ☺️
