I think you are better than me, I need a lot of practice. Your right compared to arcade games the simulation games are so much better and feel like the real thing. I think I need a lot of practice before I race online 😂
@@SlotCar2021 lots to learn over here as well. I’m really enjoying going through the licensing, missions, and menu books on GT7. Soon I’ll try my hand at the Daily Races.
The black section on the chassis is specifically designed to house the guide blade and hide the wiring, which is essential given the car's height. You’ll see this feature on the Land Rover and some other classic models with a higher ride height. We understand that the photos can make this design appear more pronounced due to the low-angle perspective, but it looks much more integrated in person 😊
I have now seen the Anglia and it isn't as bad in the flesh. I think the renders emphasise it and make it look worse. As you say it's more the ride height of the cars. No way of really getting around it unless you drop the ride height.
Thanks for the reply Scalextric We understand why it’s there to house the wiring etc I think it’s cool that you are making classic cars with the original ride height All we are asking is to make the underneath blend in with the body lines As I have bought the Harry Potter car ,imho and the Wife’s … the front sits up too high and the enclosure for the guide sticks out like a sore thumb 🍻Mal
What’s with the spare wheel jammed under the front of the cars🤔😂 Nice review and you are the first person to point out that fugly mess that is the guide assembly 🍻Mal
Hey Mal, I think to be fair to Scalextric, that the reason for this is replicating the actual car ride height. The renders also make it look worse than what it is. To get around this they would need to lower the car on the axles. This might look strange but either way it does effect the performance having the cars raised up.
😂nice description 3rooms. It seems to me that the front tyres off the track is going backwards to the early 80s with the xr3s ,metros etc come on scalextric get with the times
It all depends on where you see the value in the brand compared with other brands. In my experience, Scalextric seem to have more quality issues now. I would rather buy one more expensive car than 2 cheaper ones because the quality is much better with some of the other brands.
@@lewismumby2040They do have some issues they need to sort out because as the hobby expands they will get left behind without innovation and changes. Scalextric spend a lot on licensing compared to other brands. Only Scalextric themselves can make the changes needed to survive in the competitive market.
@@brycecasselmanhey Bryce no worries, yes very reasonable I think but it isn't about the price, it is about the quality of the product and quality control. I have never had a Scalextric that runs bad, always a smooth mesh and they aren't slow cars. Just by making a few changes like removable / adjustable magnets, wider arches to fit aftermarket wheels and hop up motors that would be a step in the right direction. How much do you pay for a Scalextric?
@@SlotCar2021 yes completely agree and I think much of the core slot car community shares that same sentiment. I have a local hobby shop, in a shopping mall, that does carry Scalextric. Their prices have always been WAY over the top, $89.99 - $109.99. Sadly I will not support them. Personally I’d rather support an online business that’s business is purely slot cars, someone in the community. That said the latest Scalextric releases in Canada online are around $74.99 - $79.99. It’ll be interesting to see how this all plays out, with all brands.
@@darrenhall6400 No not really, but it is more a question of innovation and quality for Scalextric. If they are worth the money then people will buy them. I think they need to make some changes going forward.
@@SlotCar2021In Australia Carrera are about two thirds the price of Scalextric cars. Pioneer, Slot it and Policar ten to fifteen dollars cheaper. Scalextric up there at RevolSlot prices and only a bit behind NSR, Scaleauto, Avant Slot and Thunderslot.
@@johnd8892 correct John Analogue are cheaper by a margin but I was comparing them to the prices of Carrera digital to show how bad it’s getting… I should have said that😊
Thanks for news and I don't normally keep up with media so took time to watch before I commented here. Terrible news in Southport . Prayers out to all . These things affect all of us. 😢
Thanks Eric, yeah really sad unfortunately. Hit home with me as my daughter is around the same age and goes to dance clubs. Unfortunately children are being killed in Gaza and other places too, peace is what we want🙏. Lots of slot car news this week apart from the bit I got wrong and that Carrera car has been out since late 2023 😂😂😂. Turns out it had just come back in stock.
Well done,...too much kids on kids attack,s in the U.K...why? Is it that old adage? of violent video games !..can,t they divorce the world view reality from fantasy..don,t know, but we need answers quickly.
@@dennisosborn5589 ❤️ they do a HO version too but haven't picked that up yet, I do like the car, not run it actually yet. When I do I will post a video!
@@SlotCar2021 I've got the Scalelxtric Batman/Joker Set that can run from a Cellphone, but it's Analog. I did a video on it a few years ago. I'll send you a link.
