Great video! Genuine question, not looking to argue. All track days I've done at Donington are overtake on the Left, but on this track day you undertake on the right several times and also into the braking zones which we are always told in briefings is a big NO. I would normally expect a chat with the TDO if I did that, how come you didn't have this issue?
@@lee13whitehead This day was an RMA day where overtaking is open left or right. Makes the day run much smoother as no clumps of cars frustrated, you catch someone, you pass them and you're gone. It's actually far safer as time close to other cars is dramatically reduced
@@Car9821 OK, this is good to know, i've always thought that slower cars hogging the line is a pain, but good to know on the RMA days there are controlled options. Never done one of the RMA days but always heard good things, thanks for the reply
Cracking car that! RPM Technik / CSR done a good job on that. Makes me miss my old 981, only a 2.7 but had plenty of track mods, control arms, ohlins, close ratio gear set, flywheel etc and it could put up a good fight on track.
@@Trophy_R yeah any GT Porsche is perfect track tool. I'd recommend Project Mu on Girodisc if still on steels, will stop on a six pence and be usable on the road, also flush out the fluid and proper stuff in Castrol SRF or Endless race fluid
@@Car9821 👍🏼 I was looking at the giro discs with decent pads, I use SRF in my R26.R , cheers, also need to mount a harness but not sure if the mounting parts are fitted behind the seat already
Subaru initially used "type ra" for rally base cars. However, around version 4, Subaru started using "type ra" for non-rally base grades as well. This was done in order to sell limited edition vehicles with a sense of authenticity. Therefore, the original meaning of "type ra" was lost. So they started using "Spec C" instead. Spec C TypeRA-R is a name that includes both of these words, and it was designed to give the impression that the name was something amazing, but in the end, it became difficult to understand what the name was in terms of classification.
I'd need a bit more than just 80kg out to just lift for it, Carrera cup cars on slicks only just scrape through with a lift on decent tyres. I mean I could but I wouldn't see the exit lol
Yeah it's something alot of 3rs' do, no one really knows what the cause not even Porsche. There are no witness marks it's not the tyre. Consensus believes it's the bearing but again no one's found any problems on the numerous cars I know that have been looked at...
I actually prefer my 325ti Compact to my old E46 M3. Obviously is doesn't have the outright power of the M3 but I find it less nervous on the limit. I'm about to fit an LSD and suspension of Eibach / Bilstein. Brakes are stock but am fitting Hawk HB front and rear.
I find the lighter car more nervous at it's limit and as it hasn't got the power you got to have her dancing through the bends to carry the speed you have...
I found it felt much like my E30M3. In fact I wanted a left hand drive car but bought mine as was non sunroof and they seem hard to find also. Especially as values seem to be increasing a bit for good examples.@@Car9821
I was quite pleased with my 2.37 first time out at Silverstone in my stock 981 GT4 on PS4S's on Monday. Obvs much room for improvement but not totally out of the ball park
It's a Spec C RA-R it has extra mods over and above the Spec C base This article takes you through it www.supercars.net/blog/2006-subaru-impreza-wrx-sti-spec-c/
I thought over taking is supposed to be on the left? Looked a bit close when the Ferrari indicated (5 min) to move over to the right to let you pass yet you overtook on the right, how crashes at track days happen….
Man what an awesome car! Quick question from someone also looking to put a high torque engine in an XJ6 (BMW M57 for me). Did you use the standard centre bearing on the propshaft (or the standard propshaft full stop)? Just looking to get some sort of indication whether the one I have is up to the job! It's for a street car, so no chance of competition ;)
It's alot of fun! Swallows racing built the car so I'm not sure how or what they've used beyond the output shaft I'm afraid. #chrisdymond #drivercoaching www.chrisdymond.co.uk
