My name is Mason, and I am trying to become the best tennis player I can be but with added fun at the same time! Subscribe to my channel if you look for training & competition insights into what it takes to get better at tennis. Have a great day!
Being a lefty helps a ton but the work that you have to put in is next level. I’ve found love in D3 and college tennis at any level is such an incredible experience
Saw this on my recommended and love the content dude! As a D1 player and lefty myself I’ve found that I’ve improved most when I’ve focused on having fun and loving the sport. Earned yourself a sub, keep grinding 💪
Love the spirit and enthusiasm, as a lefty you really should improve your serve and forehand. You’re going to need to be more offensive and those 2 lefty shots will let you do it
Looks like you tuck your elbow on the forehand I had a similar issue and had to fix it. Try to start your forward swing just before or as you feel your elbow start to drop.
As a tennis player I agree the mental aspect is the most difficult to figure out but at some point it just becomes draining and loses its fun. Personally I find sports like basketball more enjoyable now even though i’m better at tennis
I’m a tennis player myself and most of my friends either play baseball or lacrosse and the always fight which one is harder and when I say that I think tennis is they think I’m kidding and joking when I say it is a mental driven sport but it really is and not just a sport of just hitting a ball back and forth.
You are a very talented player with special abilities that are unique to you and yourself. You are an amazing player but your foot placement on your serve is too far forward and your forehand, backhand, and footwork do not have explosiveness to be a weapon yet...But you got this!!!
Experienced something similar last Friday. I was ahead 5-2, then felt okay I've got this in the bag - just got to finish it now. Somehow this led to me coughing up short balls which my opponent put away. At 6-5 I finally realized this and I played the last game with the mantra, controlled aggression, deep. Won with 7-5, but it was a good lesson in not letting a match run away from you due to a mistaken mindset shift. If you're losing, good to ask yourself why and adjust if you can pinpoint why it's happening.
0:38 why do you practice your swing like that, but then as it seems when you actually swing it’s nothing like that, when you shadow you have perfect exeleratkon but you seem to do the opposite when you play points in matches. You should pretend like the base line is a foot back to compensate for inevitable tightness in matches
As a leftie, you should be hitting cross court forehands as your standard rally ball. Just hit relentlessly to their backhand and stand quite far to the right of the T. You will win 90% of watches at this level just doing that.
Cool video! Its always fun to see the pros in action to get inspiration for your next matches. Great channel, just subscribed. My channel is similar to yours, please check it out!
