keep pushing, i was in your same spot a couple years ago. i also took loss after loss after loss, but the losses only pushed me even harder. i recently committed to play D3 when I started high school unranked and unrated, and only played my first tournament in sophomore year. it can be done, wishing best of luck to you.

I started playing in 10th grade. went from 8th on the team to 1st the following year due to me practicing every day. I topped out my HS around a 4.5 rating for USTA. Getting to D1 starting late is quite hard. My advice is really focus on the serve. And hit that muscle memory in for the ground strokes. A ball machine will help for getting the repetition in. GL

Results are a double-edged sword. Whilst they give you valuable feedback of your current level among peers and progress thereof, a result-oriented mindset is prone to hinder and stall one's development and also make you play worse in matches as we all know. On the other hand one must get better in performing under pressure and learn to embrace the competition. It's a delicate balance. A mind-game. Prioritize development (even with the cost of short-term success), play through enjoyment and accept the competition and enjoy it. Results should be bracketed, as if. They constitute the background or framework in which the game takes place but the less one lets the result consciously enter and disturb one's mind while playing, the better he or she performs. To win, forget the debilitating side of the 'result' and just embrace the competition and enjoy! My two cents; my way to approach tennis and competition. - Follow suit and keep it up!
