Love this beautiful tribute, Dad sure looked special. Sending heartfelt hugs 15 years later, from a girl who had the best man ever to unconditionally love & raise me even when I was a 40+ mom / wife / friend. I so get this kind of loss, no matter how hard you prepare it's a journey to move forward. I so hope like my dad, some ladies out here are still loving: his wisdom, teaching you to be an independent even fierce woman and his love is still there in your heart, that way everyday he will make you smile & his words will lead you in life.

This song has helped sooo much! My cousin fell off my barrel horse and broke her arm. I told her cowgirls don't cry and she climbed back on that horse and rode her home!( She's only 9)
this makes me sad when I was little like 4 5 and older I grew up riding horses and falling off them too but we had to put them down then I grew up and we got more and they also died now I'm not with my family no more and my dad use to sing this to me when him and mom got in arguments he brought me outside put me on a horse and let go of the rain and that's when I started officially riding plus he was very ill he had cancer and only has a certain amount of time to live I miss him deeply and will never forget him and I hope he dont have to deal with my mom no more he was a good man never got yelled at or hit by HIM my mom that's a different story😳😢

Lauriel Gnewikow , I know how it feels, I lost my Grandma and Grandpa, My grandpa a few years back and my grandma this past year. I really miss them and they encourage me to never ever give up on what I do. They also inspired me to keep playing guitar and keep folk musical talent running through my family.
