I have always worn my hair in a pony tail since I was a little girl. Now at 66 I have very thin hair salt n pepper, would love to stsrt wearing a wig. Any tips, love this color, what is the color of this one.....
With all respect, this is a helpful video, but the sound quality is AWFUL. I have everything turned up full volume, and can barely hear you. Perhaps you can re-record over the video? But thanks for a useful thinning vid!!
My suggestion would be argan oil based conditioner and with hylauronic acid complex if possible. Wig hair does well with silicone based conditioner. Shampoo the hair first with gentle shampoo. Coat the conditioner from mid lengths to ends. Place in a plastic bag then rap with wet microwaved towel. Leave on for 30 minutes. Rinse thoroughly. 2nd step is optional. Use silicone mix conditioning hair mask found in black-centric beauty supply storeas and online. Quote the hair thoroughly avoiding the ventillated knots of your lace front. Leave on for an hour. Towel pat and air dry before detangling and styling. Only spray a light mist of heat protectant when heat-styling

Amazingly, there is a fast forward button on YT! Who would have thought such technology would be possible? 😮 If a video is reviewing things you already know, or going at a slower pace than you like (and this is astonishing, I know!) just fast forward until you get to the section you want to view.
Looks like a thick edge sticking out on the silk top, it that a lace front? I was looking at the edge under where you had the hair clipped back. Great video!

My first Milano ponytail shows the welfting very much. My second two don't show the wefting. If you get a bad one just send it back and get a replacement. I would have replaced mine if I had known. Also the wefting shows more if the cap size is a bit large.
It always blows me away how many different ways you can do things… there are so many different right ways to thin your wigs. The hard part is deciding which one will work for you.

I got a wig from Milano which I loved at first, so much! But then the wefting started falling apart and the hair started to shed like crazy because of that, within 4-6 months. And I’m a super experienced wig wearer. I was very disappointed because otherwise I LOVE it! I tried reaching out to Milano but never got a response. I got a virgin piece with a silk top, folded lace front, wefted back, silicone lined cap. I got size small, and it fits great! The color and cut are amazing! I’m wondering if anyone else has had a similar experience because I’m willing to try another wig if this was just a fluke.
Oh, no! That sucks! Thanks for sharing your experience! I haven’t had that happen on my wefted pieces yet. I have had issues with Milano customer service, too, though. It seems they are not very responsive in regards to customer complaints or concerns. I ordered a hand-tied ponytail wig from them last September, and I still haven’t received it. They told me it would take 6 months. I emailed them about the order issue and requested a refund, but they never responded 😕.
@@wearingwigs_withagrace8881 seriously?! You’ve been waiting 8 months for a wig?! That’s nuts! I’d be livid. You can take them to small claims since it’s not exactly a cheap purchase. Threaten them with that. Maybe they’ll listen then. That’s awful.
Hi!! I just ordered my first ever Madison in the comfort cap as well, its actually my first wig ive ever tried on this is all new to me. Can you explain where ear tabs should sit - and how snug it should feel? Thanks :)
Hi Rachael! The ear tabs should sit right above your ears...the curved part should go around your ears and rest right behind them, and the tab part is placed at the ear hairline and slightly on your side cheek area. It should be snug enough that it doesn’t slide or shift around, but not too snug that you feel like you’re getting a headache. I like to wear a velvet headband/wig grip, which helps the wig stay in place without needing to be too tight. Hope that makes sense! Enjoy your new wig!
Hi! I definitely think silk tops are most realistic. My silk tops do sit flat, but I think the cap design, hair type, and the way it’s styled plays a role in that as well. I tried a full lace wig recently, and had a hard time making it lay flat, or at least the hair doesn’t want to lay flat! The hair feels poofy and looks like an 80s costume wig or something, so I never wear it. I’m scared to try another full lace wig after that 😬!
I own a Milano wig and the hair is amazing quality. It’s lace top and I haven’t figured out how to make it look more realistic. I would purchase a wig from them again but likely silk top for realism. This one is next in line looks really good.
Hi! I've just started following you on RU-vid. Please can you tell me if the knots are visible on the front of this wig, where the hair is attached to the lace? Also, how far back does the lace go? Is it obvious where the lace ends and the silk top begins? My bio hair (what is left of it 🙄) is darkish brown. So I'm wondering if the transition from the lace to the silk would be obvious. I'm desperately searching for a good quality human hair wig...that's as low density as possible and lies flat on my head. Many thanks for your videos...you look gorgeous! ❤️ Xx
Hi Helen, There are very few visible knots on the lace front. The lace front is cut very short (zig zag cut, precut by Milano), and the transition from the lace front to the silk top is not obvious...it has a better transition than my more expensive Madison silk top wigs, actually, in my opinion. I usually dab some very light matte powder eyeshadow that's close to my scalp color on that area where the lace front transitions to the silk top, which helps to make it even more less noticeable. The lace front part will lay at the very top of your forehead (right in front of your bio hairline), so your actual bio hair will not be visible because it's underneath the silk top, not the lace front. But it's difficult about returning it or exchanging if not right because of the huge amount of import tax to get it here. So I have to get my research right! I'll follow you on Instagram! I'm @chelseapinchy Lots loads and loads of hair since the profile pic in July...and piled on weight too...🙄 In just six months I look totally different...(stress) Xxx
I really like this on you! This looks so natural. I know a topper would be a better option for me, but the clips really freak me out! My hair falls out very easily. Can I ask how long this took to get to you? Thx
Hi! Thank you! The clips on this topper don’t bother me as much as other toppers I’ve tried, but yes, they can cause additional hair thinning in the areas of your hair where the clips are, if you wear toppers on a regular basis 😕. I mostly wear wigs because I prefer not to deal with clips or trying to blend toppers with my bio hair. But, toppers are a great option if you’re new to wearing alternative hair, and your hair loss level is not too bad! This piece took a couple weeks to arrive because the color and length were not in stock, but Uniwigs ships in-stock pieces quickly, like within a few days. Sanae Robinson It was advertised as low density, but I still did some thinning and like it much better. It wasn’t too dense, per se, but I like my wigs to be very low density.
I made the very unfortunate decision to order a custom unit from Milano believing that if I paid top dollar I would receive top quality. What I got was a fried, damaged mess with hair that was not even the quality you would expect from an Aliexpress $200 wig. Unfortunately Milano will not stand by their product and would offer only a very limited return. It is true what many people have suggested. Milano customer service is appalling and I would absolutely NEVER buy another wig from these people!
