Hey thats a great idea! Ill have to try this. My dad sent me the video! It said you were from the UP, but I didnt think youd be this close to where I live. That boat ramp looks very fermilliar. I dont fish out there much unless im going for walleye. But this year i might have to fish there because KBay isnt freezing. Hey do you think Downhill Skis would work better? Maybe ill see you out there someday.
Thanks! I enjoy finding alternative methods to enjoy the sport of fishing. There are a number of videos out there that incorporate catching large fish from an inflatable. I just thought it would be fun to try it with salmon.
It's still a bit early for splake. They love spawn, but they will hit a wide variety of spoons and body baits. For spawn rigs I like to use a floating spawn bag on a 18" leader. Attach the leader to the main line with a swivel. You'll want a 1/2-1oz sliding weight just behind the swivel on the main line for good casting distance. Little cleos are great casting spoons. Copper Harbor is the best know location for fall splake. Baraga and L'anse both have good splake fishing as well.
@@upfishingletsgo3796 thanks for tips I was up in up for 29y wedding anniversary All I got was great small mouth hammer handl pike..two tiny walleyes... maybe plan a trip up there for fishing trip...its up there Long drive from Lansing.. let's talk some time
We live we learn...and now you can reach out and give a helping hand to others. Something tells me you already knew that so......get out and catch some
I know you are young, so if you want to keep a large fish and you are using treble hooks kill the fish before you try to remove the lure!! Better safe than sorry!!
Lake Trout have a forked tail,Brooktrout have a square tail, and Splake have a slightly forked one! Coastal Brook trout are rare and have a square tail also!
Nice job! It’s the best homemade design I’ve seen thus far. I’ll certainly give it a try. I also REALLY like the idea of the usable table on the ice. Question: I couldn’t quite figure out how you reattach the cut off legs to the table?
Thank you! The legs for this model come extendable from the factory. Simply remove the bottom section of leg and then cut the section still attached to the table. The lower section of leg will slip back on to the shortened piece.
I think a spacer would work no problem. The plastic cannon holders are the best I've found for the money so far. They are made out of really tough material as well.
