My dad went through 2 yrs of painful injections to supposedly help his macular degeneration - Avastin only left him with permanent scarring.. which the scareing from reaction to Avastin ledt my dad blind …. What can we do now?
Respected sir, in case there is vitreous prolapse during cataract surgery and it is handled in time, what are the chances of retinal detachment in future ?
You seem to have more information then all these doctors including my eye doctor.i had a eye strock and can't see out of my left eye and the doctors told me there is nothing that they can do for me so I started niasan flush and have been taking it for about 3 days. I don't have insurance for my eye and they won't tell me what else I can do can you please help me with some information if you can thank you
I concur with ruby hobbs comment - the audio has been recorded very low - it can be re-edited and posted afresh - the content is important and useful for those who are about to take the journey of cataract surgery. What would be useful is an explanation of the eye drops purpose and effect. For example when I had ASIK surgery I had a particular brand of eye drops prescribed for dry eye which contained preservative to which I was allergic. I researched University abstracts on contraindications of certain preservatives - the evidence was clear enough for me to source individual phials of eye drops without preservative.
For the people complaining about the audio there’s a thing called volume on your device. Turn it up. If you literally can’t hear him -get your ears checked. The video does have a softer volume but certainly not worth filling up the comment section.
I do enjoy recommendations from amateur pseudo audio engineers. As a professional in the field the reason for the low audio are these: lapel microphone positioned too far down with limited range, alternatively the microphone itself is too far from the presenter, or the record level on the camera was set too low, or in the production edit, audio settings were not checked and set to unity before the final edit to master. So before you engage in random ill informed commentary please step back and show a little humility and empathy.
Pseudoexfoliation syndrome does slight increase the risk of complications during cataract surgery. In severe cases there can be weakness of the structures inside the eye that may require a further operation to successfully insert an intraocular lens into the eye as it may have to be in a different position to the standard cataract operation
These days with accurate biometry measurements of the eye prior to cataract surgery a refractive surprise such as becoming hypermetropic having previously been short sighted can occur but is a rare event
My mom had surgery yesterday. They removed the eye patch today and she don’t see anything. Doctor said she has cornea inflammation and told to use prednisolone every hour and she should be better. I am very worried now. Any advise ?
How is your mother now? Is she ok now? my mom too, after cataract surgery, got infection and now the doctor remove the germs with intravitrual injection.
Thank you for this informative presentation. I’m 67 and suffered with it all my life and never knew this. Blepharitis has been an embarrassing condition with people often commenting about how unwell you look and if you had had a wild night last night on the drink.
I just had both eyes done and now I cannot drive because I can only use one eye if I open both it is like I have double vision. It happens when I turn my head to the left but not the right I see double side to side. Had my one- month checkup and they said I have to wait 3 months to see what happens very disappointed any ideas?
Very informative video. For those who are having trouble hearing the low audio, I put my earphones in and turned the volume right up - could hear him perfectly.
This was very helpful but, I was told drops 4 times a day for 2 weeks, then twice a day for 2 weeks?? I was also told no bending only to put socks on?? is this not right.
God's mercy nano-grade eye drops should be the last-ditch treatment for dry AMD (age-related macular degeneration). Within 2 hours after applying nano-grade eye drops, drusen can be excreted from RPE (retinal pigment epithelium) to surface of cornea. Is it so amazing ! A lot of dry AMD patients in USA., Australia, Taiwan, etc. are deeply appreciating nano-grade eye drops. Western medication forever can't solve blocked Bruch's membrane problem and drusen can't be cleared away from RPE. All glory belongs to God !
I have been diagnosed with dry eye, including an insufficient lipid layer, exophthalmus, ectropion, blepharitis, lagophthalmus, ocular rosacea, and thyroid eye disease. My oculoplastic surgeon cauterized my lower puncta in each eye to prevent losing the tear film so quickly, repaired the ectropion, created a small tarsorrhaphy in each eye (rather traumatising), reinforced my lower lids with cartilege taken from the hard palate, and repaired something else perpendicular to the eye at the out corners . I am also very myopic and recently was treated for a couple of retinal tears. I'm told that I have small cataracts forming and will need to have the lenses replaced. Am I a good candidate for cataract surgery? How about new corrected lenses? Thank you for your help.
Thank you very much for this clear, concise, and helpful video. I had two 1mm retinal tears that were treated with laser spots last week. Having had these tears, is it more likely that I will develop others than if I had none? I have had small floaters in my other eye for several years, but nothing seems to be amiss such as a tear or detachment (according to my several visits to the ophthalmologists and a retinal specialist last week). And is it normal to continue to have small flashes in the repaired eye after the surgery? Thank you very much for your help.
Within 2 hours after applying nano-grade eye drops, drusen/lipofuscin can be excreted from Bruch member and RPE (retinal pigment epithelium) to surface of cornea. Nano-grade eye drops should be the last-ditch treatment for dry as well as wet-AMD (age-related macular degeneration). All glory belongs to God!
Western medication forever can't effectively treat and reverse AMD, dry and/or wet. Why? 1. Drusen/lipofuscin can't be excreted to surface of outer cornea 2. Can't help retinal stem cells, Muller glia, to clear away inhibitory molecules so that regeneration, i.e. optic nerve and photoreceptor cells, can be done. Only God's mercy nano-grade eye drops should be the last-ditch treatment for dry as well as wet-AMD.
All thanks to this doctor Oare on RU-vid channel who cured my and my partner from herpes simply tormenting virus 🦠 and also cure HPV, COLD SORES, FIBROID.RED EYES
I had both eyes done about 6 weeks ago. My eyesight is much worse that is was pre surgery and I even paid $5k for the Vivity lenses. Everything is much brighter, but vision is less good. Really regretting it.
Same goes to me. I had both eyes surgery 5 weeks ago. But my vision is still blurry. Starburst. So worried. Better to wear glasses than going for surgery.
Did you have pain for a few days Post OP? I find it impossible to believe this isn't a zinger pain in this VERUY sensitive area for a few day after it. This I cant find anyone on YT to answer, its all Dr's cheerleading the OP like ppl selling COLD beer in summer. None of them properly address this procedure, NONE!
Sorry to hear it. I just had both eyes done few weeks ago with Vivity+Toric lens (for my astigmatism and previous lasik surgery). The first week was blurry and after that my vision is about 20/25 for distance and 20/20 for intermediate & near. I couldn't see well & was scared to death before the surgery. Glad I found a good cataract surgeon near where I live.
A day or so after my cataract surgery I suddenly got a fairly significant floater. It appears to be attached towards the top (of my vision). It swings across my vision in the opposite direction of my eye movement - when I look to the left, it swings to the right, when I look to the right it swings to the left. It 'swings' because it appears to be attached at the top, so it swings like a pendulum. It is not free floating, does not rotate, and does not float around. Its position is stable. When I called my surgeon about it, she minimized it, said I would just have to live with it. It has been 5-7 years or so and is still there, although I notice it less. IDuring my regular eye exam today, the doctor didn't seem to know anything about it (this is someone different, not the person who did the surgery). Can you point me toward more information as to what this might be? What is this called? Where in my eye would this be?
Hi Dave, It is likely to be due to a clump of jelly called vitreous that occupies the main eye cavity behind the lens. If you have had it for so long it is unlikely to be associated with anything serious such as a tear in the retina. It can be removed with an operation called a vitrectomy but if is in not causing you too much trouble and you have already tolerated it for this length of time it may be best left alone. Hope this helps Peter
@@caramelclothing Peter, this floater suddenly appeared the day after my cataract surgery. Which is why I question it could have been in the vitreous. When I called my surgeon she minimized it. She said she always tries her best to remove all the lens material and other material prior to installing the new lens. It seems possible to me that this 'floater' is material that resides in the sack containing the lens, that came loose - not material in the vitreous. My question is, can the location of this floater be determined (non-invasively)? Can inspection determine whether this floater is in the vitreous or in the sack containing the lens (possibly as a result of the surgery)?
@@jkyoft78 sounds like you have what I had, the residue that got left behind gradually made my vision really cloudy, I had to have laser treatment its called YAG, look it up
@@vallee3140 Sounds like my issue, I had both eyes done in early December, I know that I have PCO in the right eye & probably will get it in the left as well, I will get Yag this summer.
@@omfug7148 must say it was so easy never felt a thing, unlike when they did the cataract in my left eye, and now I have a lot of problems in both, wish I'd not bothered.
Hi Dr. I am myopic with -7 in both eyes. I am now having cataracts in both eyes. I am considering monofocal lens only and wanting to get my distance vision fixed. Is there any downside to this other than reading glasses for computer and upclose work ? Will I be able to cook in kitchen and see dashboard in the car while driving without glasses ?
