I was the president of our local teachers union back in the year 2000. I remember insurance denying cancer care for two of our members. They were basically sent home to die. One was able to obtain care because her husband sold his business and the other just died.
I was assaulted and suffered a complete lumbar herniation and am having a complex spinal surgery soon. Your videos have helped me onto my journey of recovery. Thank you Atlee!
Atlee, thank you so much for taking your time and energy to make this video, and for caring to help others. I will have surgery in 6 days and I love all your suggestions. You are correct that it will make my stay and experience better. Thank you!
Practice getting up from bed without bending your back. You must slide or roll and swivel your feet to the floor and then bend you knees. This is very important as you wint be able to bend normally after surgery. Practice sitting up from a chair as well or eating from a coffee table and kneeling in front of it. This is much easier on the back because you can keep it straight.
I had my neck fused, everyone is different but I want you to know my experience was no pain, just total relief afterwards. I am now about to get L4-5 fused next week, I am scared but after having a couple experiences when I could not walk for a week at a time and ending up in the ER, I am ready to get better.
PLEASE MOVE TO ANOTHER COUNTY THAT HAS FREE HEALTHCARE SO YOUR SURGERY WILL NEVER HAPPEN. THATS NOT HOW IT WORKS THE SURGEONS STAFF SENDS REQUEST TO INSURANCE, ONLY AFTER THEY APPROVE IT THE SURGEON SETS THE DATE.
When I had my spinal fusion surgery the hospital forced me to walk all the way across the hospital to the car when I was discharged, so sometimes you don’t have a choice.
You are such a blessing, I'm going in for back surgery in 1 week, and I'm so worried about coming home and being on my own. Thanks for a ton of great things to do or buy to help with post surgery.
Yes, listen to your body What gets me is no one mentions about what possibly is happening to your body I was at work day before We a were told to shelter in, not knowing what the heck would possibly happen now I to am deciding to have the procedure Yes, it's scary but wondering if it be worth it TY for sharing ❤🎉
Thank you soooo much for your videos. I have surgery for L3 - S1 in 6 weeks and your videos are the clearest and most comprehensive of the many I have been viewing. Your presentation is amazing and I really appreciate the additional women’s point of view. Glad to see your amazing recovery immedtiate post-op, few weeks and few months, as well as 2 years in your other videos. They are all so helpful and I wish you the best of continued good health. I can’t thank you enough! ❤❤❤❤❤
I had my period on the day of my steroid injections which failed.. same week i had microdiscatomy.. now this is my day 16. Im wondering about many things.. will my life change a lot ?
I wish you the best of luck with your surgery. I had 3 level cervical surgery 2 years ago in April. I'm scheduled for L4-L5-S1 laminectomy with fusion on July 23rd. I've been suffering with back pain for 10 years & so over it. It's going to be rough but I'm ready to start feeling better. Prayers to you!!
I just had my lumbar posterior decompression. The pain is immense during the first few days in the hospital so be prepared to ask for the strongest cocktails your Dr recommended. I am on day 2 and Ativan is helping calm my body spasms down.
