i have a question for you!! so i recently learned some variation of this where i start out in the butter flip position but instead of stopping in a truck stand it just flips all the way to wheels and you land on top and roll away. what da heck is this trick called?
I just came here randomly after buying a skate deck. Was looking for options to protecting the graphic. I had no clue this type of skateboarding existed. It’s really cool and seems accessible if there’s no skate park nearby.
Lol watching Dan who is a master struggle with basic freestyle tricks is heartening. I am also new to freestyle and I'm eating a ton of doodoo going in and out of rail.
I love heelside rail stands. I pop up and stand like this and then do a nollie hardflip out. I can also varial flip out of this stand. I only use my front foot to pressure the board over. I don't hang my back foot off of the board or use it to help rock the board over to primo. I just make sure it's lined up over the rear truck when I pop it up. My toe might hang out there just a little. With too much hanging off, I miss catching the wheel in the right place under my back foot. I put my front foot over the front kickflip side wheel and back centered over the rear truck. I pressure flip it over on my kickflip side with my front foot and catch it in primo with my back foot first, if that makes sense. It sounded right in my head. Come here. I'll just show you.
Increible <3 I'm still learning the coconut wheel, just recently I learned how to do a semi flip and it's easier to do the semi flip with the coconut wheel trick. As I practice it, it's very difficult for me to place my front foot when I press too hard. backward
Wow! I never knew that there's a set up for freestyle! I'm personally a street/ park skater but I totally respect this discipline of skateboarding and It's always amazing to watch just as much as a street skateboarding clip!
As a mid-30s man who use to skate street 15 years ago, I’ve been watching your videos and now I want to get back into skating, but this time I want to learn freestyle! Great content Mike. Can you recommend what board size I should buy from Waltz to learn these types of tricks? I’m 5’11 and 160 lbs, and use to skate a size 8 deck when I would skate rails and ledges, but now want to learn tricks like this. Does a smaller board generally work better for space walks, rail flips, etc? Thank you and keep up the great content!!
Did a primo flip in the french quarter and a musician gave me a sticker i was actually post up at parasite skatepark looking after people whogot kicked out of covenant house
Love this. Gonna try and really learn these, I seen someone do one to fakie and my mind was blown I can't even try them without powersliding. It's so fun trying to learn and figure these out on just a regular board. Does the board really make a lot of difference ? In 23++ years I don't think I've ever ridden or seen one in the parks 👀
you look like stewart from mad tv is that on purpose? why are you in my face man take a few steps back. ok i was ready to discount you until i saw you skate a little. your one of us.
