Listen I love Miata’s and I own an ND but let’s not kid ourselves here. If the same Mx-5 driver in this video drove that 911 he would shave off at least 3 min on this track and left him Miata self in a dust. Now that I’ve ruined it for everyone I must say I did enjoy this lap.
And yet a MX5 Cup driver could probably beat this 911 driver with a ND2 181hp car. Sorry but it’s true. Basically saying it’s not about the car it’s mostly the driver. This video is the perfect example. Here’s a pro Miata driver owning the track ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-tQ3x462rlmg.htmlsi=Gt0XG9cWpRXiyp9i
@@TheChenny73 I agree with you , but it’s the car, the car modifications and the driver. And experience on particular track. I’m talking about just stick road cars. That 911 is beating Miata on any track in their stock form with the same driver.
@@omCi it’s more about the driver. Did you watch the linked video? That’s not a turbo or super charged MX-5. Funny how a pro driver can literally keep a Miata at its Max and hang with Porsches all day and pass them 😂. Now grant it he’s a pro driver and maybe these 911 drivers are not. Well, that illustrates my point. It’s about the driver. You want to go fast and hang with 911’s? Yep you can totally do that in a MX-5(see video), no need to purchase a $150k car. You just need to learn how to keep your MX-5 between 80-150mph. Even if the drivers are equal the MX-5 loses by a matter of seconds, who cares? I mean the 911 gets beat by a similar driver in an even faster car…lol. It’s all about having fun.
Nice lap but come on, let's not pretend there is a competition between these cars. Any expensive car can go slow with a shitty driver, just let me drive it, lol.
You're eventually gonna lose control of your car holding your steering wheel like that. It will be ripped out of your hand, you should research proper steering wheel position. It helps a lot imo.
You were going great nice lines, just that rear wheel tips the grass and cause the spin hope you were ok and I see you fixed the car, I hope you do many more Laps :)
Porsche boy should have lifted after a corner or two, and gotten on your tail. He'd have learned something that way, and you both would've had a better time.
For about 5k one can add a supercharger to a Miata. The Miata has a Miller Engine. Such cars get around 220 HP. A base ND produces 180 HP. It's a 2200 lb car. The ND is a fantastic car to drive on a mountain road.
It's a funny thing with race cars/bikes that the car/bike with maybe three times the power of the other, won't be three times faster on a circuit. I've seen 250cc bikes run within 4 seconds of 750 machines, its all about handling, braking, and who can run consistently high average speeds.
Nie im Leben, fährt ein Madzda einem Porsche den Schneid ab. Er hat ihn sicher erst warm gefahren, oder sein 16jähriger Sohn ist ihn mal gefahren. Aber sehr amüsant, dass du das glaubst.
To people who think the Porsche driver was inexperienced: he simply don't want to hammer 150K car. He knows he has plenty of buffer with MX5 and at any straights he is well in front so it simply chill drive for him. It's delusional to think MX5 can catch up with him including corners - no, it can't (I drove both).
The Porsche is incompetently driven - it slows WAY too much entering corners. And in case there was any doubt, the Porsche poseur proclaims to the world what an asshole he is by refusing to let the MX-5 pass.
I’ve owned a highly boosted MX-5 and it ruined the car. Big-time turbo lag mid-corner, followed by a huge rush of acceleration when it wanted to swap ends immediately. This car’s wheelbase is too short for big power.
