I put two coats of 3 in 1 on my new GTI and followed up a couple weeks later with the wash and coat and the water literally jumps off the car. It has even coated the concrete driveway and the water beads up and runs off the driveway out to the street. 😂 Additionally you are supposed to foam gun the wash and coat onto the car from the bottom up. My car is black and it definitely makes a difference as going from the top down left a few streaks that I had to wash off
Wow! 😂 that's crazy! Yeah this stuff is so great! Maintain work ceramic speed shineb and it will be phenomenal! I think 3-1 from griots is the more underrated ceramic spray wax on the market! Hey I appreciate you taking the time to watch! 🤝🤙
Question for you. The fiam sprayer you are using here is it the exact same one as in the link. This one says it's a 2 liter or 2000ml? Has 2 nozzles? Thank you
@btbd2785 I've had it since prob a week or 2 before this video. Still works but it has taken a hit due to leaving chemicals inside of it lol. Still foams just need to pump it more. Worth the 8 bucks you can find em for for sure.
Also, I've since purchased an ik foam pro 12. See what that thing will do. It will handle some pretty high alkaline cleaners, I've just let my cleaners sit inside since this video. Only thing I've noticed is that it's taken a slight hit on holding the pressure. Idk why... but still foams and works!
@PapaSmurf918Detail I have the Ik Foam Pro 12. Got it when it first came out, love it! now I am looking for a smaller version.but something like the one upu have here that has interchangeable spray tips
This was 3 years ago. What do you think now? I ask, as rain washes the product off the paint. It's very easy to use, looks good after application. Yet, rain will wash it off. I've been doing this for 18yrs. Have never seen anything like it. Their spray wax did the same thing. To me, right now, the product is a scam.
I haven't really used it since. Agree that it's very easy to use, glossy, and slick. But I didn't get 2 months before it was dead on my vehicle. Was kind of disappointed 😕 just used it up anyways as toppers to existing protection and moved on. Lol haven't tried any new ir improved versions IF they even have any either.
Harbor freight stepping it up these days. Having two different colors is a lil bonus too. And you have to have a membership for Costco which I personally don't.
Definitely stepping up there game! Yeah, not everyone has access to Costco. I choose Grant's FTW! I've got 5 bags in my dining room 🤣 I just buy a bag ir two whenever I'm there. Lol hey. Appreciate you taking the time to watch!🤙🤝
@@PapaSmurf918Detail Haha, Ya I don't detail for a living but I find myself stockpiling microfiber towels. My chicks like "you have a stack of unopened packs already. Ya but these are different.😂
Great video!! I scrolled down on the comments and I saw someone post that Griots has a lifetime warranty. So I called them explained to customer service that the polisher kept cutting off on me and that I have bought the polisher over 2 years ago. The gentleman on the phone told me to go to their weans download a copy of their return policy. He told me that they will replace it with a new one !!!! I totally agree with everyone, Customer Service is second to none!!!
That's AWESOME! Very glad that they are taking care of you! There customer service has always treated me right! That's so awesome.. still have my G9 btw and it's going strong! Really appreciate you taking the time to watch! 🤙🫡
@@PapaSmurf918DetailAbsolutely will. Trying to find someone certified to install the non light version on my Type R but haven't found anyone yet. Just ordered the C6 glass coating this morning
I think it does actually.. I'd just tape just to be sure. The PF finish is the only Sonax product I've used. Still have some left but not sure it's good lol. Nowadays PhoenixEOD, Koch Chemie, have been go too for me. And 3d aca510 for the deep stuff on that hard clear🤙🤙🤙
I know all about black Honda paint. Wife won't have any other color. It's a labor of love. Great job Eric! Love your process and explanation. Also Honda engine are the easiest to detail I think. What dressing did you use on the engine?
👍👌🤝🤙 Appreciate that! Thanks for tuning in! I agree, VERY easy to detail engine bay! I believe it was the last if my Koch Chemie Motorplast! Love that stuff!!!!!
Hey man. Yup, sure did! They're is speculation about it cause the water " dilute " the product but since this video I've started using the iron remover with a decontamination towel. Saves product and makes the process more efficient 👍👍
Unfortunately most DA polishers have stalling as a " safety " thing lol. Nothing local I don't think unless you have a local detail shop that sells polishers. I'm almost to the point of getting a rotory. These newer cars have so many body lines where you need to manipulate the polisher.. it's easier to use a 2" mini polisher but takes to long. Definitely, the maxshine has power.. still use my M15pro here an there. 🤙🤙 appreciate you taking the time to watch!
yeah I hear you haha. Been thinking the same. I got mine locally and strangely it did not come with any washers haha. But I will tell you I rocked a chemical guys 8mm machine for a few years- got the job done, but this stalls way more than that haha. I saw somebody throw a normal washer on, I have no means to cut one haha. May give it a try and see what happens 😂. I just know that it supposedly affects cooling
@kristofferpence nothing wrong with that! Whatever gets the job done🤙 yeah, that's odd mine all came with a washer! Lol contact maxshine and say hey send me a washer or sent me another unit 👍 worth a shot!
Absolutely! This can be a final finish polish and protect and the same time. I'd recommend the BOSS creams over the Complete compound But if you already have it then by all means! 🤝👍 thank you for taking the time to watch!
I know this is an old video but this is still a relevant topic: the stalling on the M15 Pro. I honestly think it comes down to the bearing that allows the backing plate to spin. On my 15 year old porter cable the backing plate spins super easily. Turn it with your finger and it just spins. My M15 Pro however has a much tighter bearing. I think thats killing it. You can kind of see the same thing if you watch closely in this video. When you're dry firing those buffers off the panel - as soon as you stop the MaxShine, the backing plate stops. When you shut off the Griots the pad keeps spinning for quite a while. Sad that a bearing is keeping the MaxShine from being a much, much better machine.
Absolutely a relevant topic! And thank you for watching! Yes. Free spin should be there 100% I think quality control comes into play as well, my replacement unit I still have is a beast! Since then I've moved to shinemate which is an absolute great unit... still have all my maxshine, and griots as well. Cycle through em here an there but 85% of time I grab my Shinemate ex620... when I need a shorter throw I'll grab my G9 from griots. 🤙
@@PapaSmurf918Detail Do you recall if your replacement M15 Pro spun any better? I'm actually about to do my first correction with the M15 Pro II. If it doesn't work out I have other buffers I can fall back on. But I'll be pretty disappointed. I'm really excited to use the M15 Pro.
@Apophis-en9pi yes it did. And it's a powerhouse. My only con that I don't like is that the air vent vents directly into your hand.. I hold the head with my left hand lol. But I believe that maxshine has come a long way since my video was done. I like to think the quality control is much better. 👍
@@PapaSmurf918Detail Did a little more research and I think they changed bearing suppliers as the bearing is now a feature listed on MaxShine's website. I'm LOVING the M15 Pro Series II, but I just found out the EX620 5/15 is literally the same price. Kind of regret not getting the ShineMate, but so far the M15 Pro has been ok. The bearing broke in quite well after about an hour of use. Really only bogs for me on sharp curves. And honestly that's the machine telling you to back off, pretty sure any long throw DA would stop rotation on the areas it's doing that for me. I might reach out to them about possibly trading up. Are they still the same company?
@Apophis-en9pi that's great to hear! Yeah, I believe they are the same company but ti my knowledge they just kept going through people an management that it was taking a toll as they weren't getting established... hey, my shinemate still stalls... all DA polishers do. Your right it's telling you back off and as well hey I'm stalling to save you. Forced rotation is the way to go or rotory if your worried about stalling 👍👍👍
Excellent video showing what can be achieved. I'd been wondering about 1&done & how it performs. I've also got a Japanese car (with, of course, Japanese paint) in similar cond though non metallic. I'll look through more of you're clips to learn thanx 🇦🇺
Thank you! Appreciate you taking the time to watch! Yes, 1 n done can achieve great results! Just gotta be careful and take you time on softer black clear 👍👍 If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out! 🤝
papa smurf straight rockin the apron, yeah i’m a big fan of LC sdo/hdo pads for sho…and thanks for mentioning detailedAF. i was looking to try some P.E.O.D stuff, im gonna order it from him ✌🏽🐿️💨
Great job and thanks for sharing your knowledge! Car looks like a beauty! My mom has the same car and I plan to polish for her. I was wondering if you could help me figure what to polish and what not to. I know you can't polish the plastics but can you polish the chrome on the front of the car and the black panel between windows?
Thank you! I appreciate that! Really happy with how this one turned out. So mad they traded it in! 😅 yes, you can polish chrome trim you'll be ok. The plastics depending on what polish you use, with the stuff I used I don't get that staining BUT some will stain. Better to be safe than sorry 👍 I appreciate you taking the time to watch!
Looks absolutely amazing! SoCal summers, it can get brutal. I live in Valencia and it is hot! I wish I could fit my truck in my garage, I would definitely do the same.
@@PapaSmurf918Detail 2023 Ram TRX, stock, gray. Picked up this past November. I have been using the usual two bucket method, Kranzle pressure washer, Adam’s mega foam. I just picked up a D.I. Tank. I misjudged how big this truck is and I am trying to avoid water spotting.
Those years GM black was one of the worse paints I have ever seen. I took care of my paint and still had issues plus it’s been garaged from day one. I’m actually doing my second detail since 2011. Nice job as I actually thought my car was bad till I saw this video, but we all know they used really soft paint
Yes, this was a huge challenge for me! Worst paint I've ever done. Really happy with the outcome though! Hoping its still looking good to whoever he sold it too! 👍👍 thank you for taking the time to watch!
I strongly disagree... although this was sent to me I own a ex620 I paid for and love... not garbage whatsoever. For the price an what they deliver they are Awesome!
@@PapaSmurf918Detail being real is encourage ppl to save up for the good stuff that you’ll have forever, pass on harbor freight, le,shinemate and max shine -these are all basically junior varsity and you know it papa
Considering I still have my very first Chicago electric polisher I ever bought that STILL works. I can't polish and have polished multiple cars with, I disagree. Shinemate isn't paying me that's for dam sure😂 she up for what a rupes?? Lol everyone I know that's had one says they are no better than a maxshine or shinemate. For someone just starting out there is absolutely no reason to spend that on a unit. But, everyone had there own opinions which I respect.
I recently acquired HERO an looking forward to testing! Yes, I'm saving a few others I have for that reason. 👍👍 so far, I'm loving everything I have tried! Thank you for taking the time to watch! Happy 4th!
Those door panels from that era are the worsttt too after a while they get all tacky and sticky and attract everything, and becomes like a shiny dirty mess caked on if not kept up with lol clearly
I couldn't agree more! Not taken care of are a pain to clean! Typhon does great as a light cleaner with heavy abilities! Thank you so much for taking the time to watch!
Damnnn thats impressive…i dont need another product. Just grabbed ADS bunch of stuff with 25% off sale…but might have to grab this. I have P&S express currently and my truck is all leather, well maintained. Just got Koche Chemie interior products and the new tire dressing, and have phoenix EOD shampoo. But that is impressive as hell. Just got a Sub from me brotha. Happy 4th!
Man, happy 4th and thank you for taking the time to watch! Yeah, sounds like you have an arsenal! But, whenever your ready for a great cleaner you've gotta give this a try! You'll love it's versatility !
I realize this at this point is a 3 year old video but I thought I'd still add my .02 My go to for GM clear was the purple wool pad sold by my Xtreme solutions rep. with the pure cut compound. What you do is probably better in the ling run but I was told to get everything out I could without it needing a body shop. Escalades Corvettes pickups etc. Whatever I would come across at a Chevy dealership. Most cases I could go right to a liquid wax after like Miami shine or Collinite 845. Done with a Rupes Bigfoot or later on the flex 3401.
Fantastic job my guy!! I’ve always ALWAYS been a super fan of the GSX’s.🔥👌🏽 I’m new to your channel. I just so happened to stumble upon your RU-vid page while watching videos on the griots garage G9 & with helping me on exact info I was looking for, you for sure drew me in an earned my sub! I’ve only been detailing for about 2 & a half-3 years but still looking to learn as much as possible everyday. Again, thanks for the help, I’m here for the long haul! Be well my man.🫱🏽🫲🏻
