Hola y bienvenidos! I love the Camino de Santiago, and when I'm not walking it, I can live vicariously through people who are by helping you plan for it. Shoot me your questions.
Beautiful video. I enjoyed watching your friendship, but cry when I saw tear in your eyes. Thanks God,I red in comments even this love wasn't for a future, one years later you were engaged for other young man who loves and apprichiate you. With God's help, I wish you the best. You are great girl, you deserve that.
Many years ago I've been watching your camimo videos and watching and watching. You made so many beautiful, useful videos for all of us. For us who have never been on camino and other people who think, prepare and want to go camino. Watching your so many videos I realised how great you are as a person, as a young girl and pilgrim. You deserved the best in life. God blessed you.
Good for you for staying true to your beliefs! I'll be going on the Camino Frances in May. It will be for "non-religious" reasons. I honestly can't imagine ANYONE in America who would give a **** that I hiked the Camino. Most people have NO IDEA what the Camino even is (or the PCT, CDT, AT, or ANY long trail for that matter). Most people I know think I'm INSANE for going on ANY hike longer than 10 miles. (so it's really not a badge of honor). It's more of a proof that I'm just "hiker trash"...
When I was 19, back in 71, I spent a year wandering through Europe and the Middle East, walking and hitchhiking. I am an avid reader and this was pre Kindle. You chose your books carefully, always aware of their trade value, because they were heavy to carry.
Hey Lindsey im back! Tapas anyone!!! What a journey from my first walk 🥾with my son after his graduation from NC State, we ventured The Camino Frances and started at St. Jean de port in Sept. 2021 we reached halfway to Carrion de los Condes and stopped, headed back in Sept. 2022 to pick up where we stopped and finished the Frances. Then I Walked the Camino Portugal starting from Porto in March of 2023 . Then in May 2023 walked the El Camino Frances again starting from St. Jean and made it to Santiago in 28 days, hung out at the end of the world Fisterra... Now I'm planning now on walking in Feb 2024 El Camino de Norte ,to connect with el camino primitivo ,then to Fisterra on the coast🌊.... This has all happened because i happen to stumble on one of your videos many moons📆 ago. So thank you🙏 for being such an amazing part of my journey and showing me the world! Your biggest fan...... Buen Camino🤙
You are still makin an impact MANY years later! I am preparing for my first Camino (in 2023) and was sent your link by someone who did it years ago. So your great advice and passion lives on and continues to help "newbies" like me, thank you!
Excelente video lleno de honestidad. No te preocupes, que dentro de 20-25 años volveras a hacer el Camino, y encontrarás recompensa en él. La paciencia es virtud de los peregrinos!!! Saludos desde España..... y nos vemos!
I enjoyed your videos when I was preparing for mine own Camino. I watched loads of different videos on a variety of topics but your enthusiasm and youth was a magical combination. Thanks for posting them.
Still here. 8 yes later. Still haven’t done the Camino but I have hope. You’re older, more seasoned and there’s nothing wrong with that. But I would suggest very humbling not to lose the passion, and the sense of adventure that you had just a few years ago I know you helped countless people, including myself.
Lindsey! Apologies, I am just finding this now clearly a year after your posting...I followed all of your Camino posts and loved each one and wondered why you stopped. In the mean time I walked the Camino Frances in 216, the Portugese Coastal in 2018, the Via di Francesco to Assisi in 2019, and just finished another Frances in October of 2022. Your advice in so many ways accompanied me in all of these journeys. As you know returning to the Camino is....(long pause)....another Camino in and of itself. I see a guitar in the background and it makes me smile as it is another way to express many of the same feelings from the Camino. Ultreia in you own journey, and I hope to see you when we both return to the Way once more. Many blessings, and buen Camino!
I wondered the date of this and the the galaxy phone came up and oh yeah I had one and I still think it was one of the best I had. Your vids are clear, fun to watch and informative, oh I forgot to say I'm watching this in Oct. 2022.
Hi Lindsey. I fully understand your need to move to other things. I’ve completed a couple Camino routes and have decided to do a long distance cycling journey in the spring of 2024. While I absolutely loved the Camino journeys and all they have to offer is just such a busy experience now and that just too much for me. Turned 60 last month so it’s just time to find something else to do that keeps me physically active. Wish you well on your new experiences.
Drink more wine than water, cost its cheaper.. Means you'll be drunk most of the way, means you'll hv more fun & probably dull the pain on your feet.. Great suggestion 👍😁..
Most just fly to Paris, then a connecting flight to Biarist, and look for taxi buddies to St Jean.. Compare that to St Jean overland fr Paris, by having to do all these on foot in a foreign country, after a 20hr flight & jet lag: - transfer 4 diff trains, - buy 4 diff tickets, - looking for 4 diff stations, - make all the connecting train schedules.. Otherwise you could arrv at St Jean late in the night, after an additional 7hr train ride, and still hv to walk on foot in a small French town looking for lodging & food.. Not a good idea.. 😕
Super practical and spot on. I'm going to do the Camino Portugese in a few weeks, starting in Faro. I'm planning to camp out for some of the nights with a bivvy bag, so I hope I can keep the weight down to a minimum. The last time I did it, the bag weighed about 6.5 kilos which was pretty good. I think this time, it will be close to the same, as I have realised a lot about what wasn't needed.
Hi Lindsey, your videos were so helpful to my sister and I when we walked our first camino in 2016. We are glad you’re doing well and would love for you to make more content!
Nice video! I’ve used a Lush shampoo bar before on the Camino and it worked great. This time, I’m going to be headed to the Camino with merino wool. How does the Lush bars do with cleaning merino wool garments? Would the Montalbano be okay for the wool fibers?
Hi Lindsey. I miss Vancouver, used to live in the area. Thx for posting this video. I was just asking myself this question. I notice there are kilometre of open space in along the route. Where do people go when nature calls in big open space??? 😳
I walked into Santiago on my 60th birthday in 2017 accompanied by my then 19 year old son. It was the best investment of time and money I ever made. Your videos were most helpful as I trained and prepared for that walk and the two Caminos that followed, for that I thank you. I've recommended your videos to a number of pilgrims in the making since then and they too derived benefit from them. I'm glad to see a new RU-vid from you and to hear you're still actively walking as I'm relatively sure you'll agree that there's no better way to experience a place than to pass through on foot at 3-5 kmph. I understand how ones focus in travel can, indeed must evolve, but I would encourage you to keep the possibility of another pilgrimage in your back pocket for later in life when there will be even more to reflect upon as you embrace the suck and surrender yourself to the grind of day after day of walking towards your next goal. For me I'm continuing to train for another Camino or two and learning French for the month it ought to take me to cross France on the Via Francienega when it comes time to celebrate my Seventyth. Buen Camino no matter where you may roam, all who wander are indeed not lost!
Every time I think about the Camino I think about you! I still wash with solid soap bars, even at home. And next year I plan to finally start hosting walking retreats on the 100km section from Santiago to Finisterre. I had originally planned to start doing them in April 2020, but obviously that didn't happen! But all of this is thanks to your videos! So thank you!
