Hello doctor, I am suffering from multiple mild disc bulges, disc desiccation and degenerative changes as seen in the MRI. I am practicing my neck exercises religiously since 8 weeks now. Although my radiating pain has improved quite a lot, my neck muscle is swollen near the spine on the outside of my neck on one side where the bulging has occurred. This swelling wont go away. What should I do for this?
Can a c5 nerve compression cause auditory abnormalities in the opposite side ear? My hearing is perfect. In fact ever so slightly better on the left side, but i always have a feeling of fullness and have found a way to habitually pop my left ear, in a similar unintentional way to the way i move my neck to sort of self crack or decompress it. Or would this be more likely due to my full body torsion over to my left side, resulting in the neck beingtwisted and tilted to the right and therefore the jaw being shifted to the left causing compression ect. Or the posibility of both contributing.
I been feeling numbness on my left foot only from the side until the little toe and not enough strength on my ankle flexion plantar, and unable to walk with toes and heel with my left foot. I got this mri lumbar spine results, how bad could be, i am 52 old. And last year slip and fall trauma causes broken talus bone with 2 surgeries ankle arthrodesis surgery with ligaments repair. This is my result: Small posterior disc protrusion L5-S1 with mass effect upon the right greater than left S1 nerve root and right greater than left lateral recess narrowing and foraminal narrowing. 2. Mild degenerative disc disease and diffuse facet joint degeneration is otherwise appreciated throughout the lumbar spine.
Hi Doctor, thank you for the helpful videos. Watching them has made me a bit concerned about my current doctor's approach. He prescribed painkillers and advised me to swim, walk, and stretch. I have two MRI results and would appreciate your advice: C4-C5, C5-C6, and C6-C7 mildly bulged discs.T11-T12 posterior right paracentral focal disc bulging, and L4-L5 mildly bulged disc.
Subscribed. What about chronic pain from L4/L5 & L5/S1 herniated discos? What about recumbent bikes? Would the more backwards leaning position be beneficial?
What happens to the fluid long term if it stays outside the disc? Will it get absorbed? I got two degenerated discs that caused no pain ( probably a leak that went sideways or forward ) and the vertebrae are also starting to fuse.
I have coming and going back issues. What helps is stiff leg dead lifts and back extensions. Also lots of walking. I can’t figure my back out. I can do back strength exercises yet I can get out of a chair quick or shift on my back in bed and it like snaps then I’m in pain for a week. Usually dull general aching but miserable. My lower back can ache then get better in an hour, or it can ache and I stiff leg dead lift 185lbs 4 sets of 10 and it will feel great. I’ll walk 2 hours and it might start to ache but when I’m done it’s always better. Biking long seems to aggravate it. So I’m reading my MRI and researched this flat back I have. Now I’m here. I was never a fan of chiropractors for no known reason but you sold me on this one video. I live in Milwaukee and have insurance to go to a chiropractor. Please see if someone is here to treat me. Alignment: There is mild apex rightward curvature of the upper and mid thoracic spine without significant vertebral subluxation. There is no developmental spinal canal narrowing. Discs: Thoracic disc degeneration is mild, greatest within the upper thoracic spine at T2-T3 as well as the lower thoracic spine at T10-T11 and T11-T12. Vertebrae: There is a T1/T2 hyperintense hemangioma within the posterior aspect of the T7 vertebral body. Smaller foci of fat deposition are seen elsewhere. Otherwise, vertebral bodies are maintained in height and signal. Additional comments: There is a shallow right subarticular disc herniation at T2-3 without cord contact or significant stenosis. Minor posterior disc bulging is noted elsewhere. There is no spinal canal stenosis. Mild thoracic facet arthropathy is noted along the concave margins of the curves with at most mild foraminal narrowing. Perineural fat remains at all levels. Small bilateral pleural effusions are noted. Alignment: There is straightening of the normal lumbar lordosis without significant vertebral subluxation. Developmental spinal canal narrowing: There is no developmental spinal canal narrowing. Discs: Mild to moderate lumbar disc degeneration is noted, greatest at L5-S1 with disc height loss and disc bulging. Vertebrae: Tiny T1/2 hyperintense hemangiomas are noted within the upper lumbar vertebral bodies. Otherwise, vertebrae are maintained in height and marrow signal. Distal cord: The distal cord has normal signal. The conus terminates at the interior L1 vertebral level. Level-wise findings are as follows: L1-L2: There is no significant spinal canal or foraminal stenosis. L2-L3: There is no significant spinal canal or foraminal stenosis. Minor disc bulging is noted. L3-L4: Disc bulging with annular fissures along the posterior lateral disc margins. There is mild bilateral facet and ligamentum flavum thickening. No spinal canal stenosis is seen. Foraminal narrowing is minimal bilaterally. There is residual circumferential perineural fat. L4-L5: Bulging disc with shallow superimposed left central disc herniation. There is an associated annular fissure at this location. Spinal canal is patent. Posterior lateral disc bulging contributes to mild right and minimal left foraminal narrowing. L5-S1: Mild disc bulge with posterior annular fissure. There is no spinal canal stenosis. The foramina are widely patent.
@harryreems8711, Thanks for sharing. Check out this directory of corrective care Chiropractic BioPhysics docs at www.idealspine.com/directory. Be sure to ask the office you call if the doc does full CBP (Chiropractic BioPhysics) technique, which includes xray spinal assessment, posture assessment, posture correcting adjustments and exercises, in office traction, and at home traction/exercises. I have a hernaTed disc in my L4 L5 back pain no mrI just did a xray and CT scan and told me it was something like that I've been suffering for over a year now and I can't do heavy lifting they want me to see a physchio and taking medicine for the pain I work at a grocery store and when I work long hours it takes a toll on my back almost every shift I work I come back home in so much pain it gets really bad I just don't know what to do anymore it feels like it's not getting any better
Ive got Cervical Foraminal Stenosis in my C5-C6 and I have slight disc denegration thats been causing me pain for a month. However Ive been doing so many neck exercises and the pain has subsided for now.
@DrWalterSalubro I have 3 herniated disc in my neck c2c3 c3c4 with 3.3 mm indenting the thecalsac, the worst being a 4mm herniation at C5C6, My MRI showed it was touching the spinal cord.I have neck pain when turning head, pain in both arms that rotates back n fourth , forearm elbow wrist and pain along my thumbs. Even some in the legs behind my knee. Some days are better than others, but it started back on 6/5 so I have been dealing with this for a month half almost. My Nuero MD did suggest surgery but I am not a fan, and just wondering what your thoughts are if surgery should be considered or can we try therapy and pain mangement. Thanks
Had a burst at c2c3 fused in c3-c6 front and back...nerve study today showed c6 nerve damage. But it's my thoracic area killing me. Hemangioma inside T6..they say Hemangioma don't cause pain..Mines 17mm inside the disc, I Def feel it. Wah
How long do you suggest wearing the heel lifts before you start seeing anatomical changes? Do you remeasure periodically and reduce the heel size as the leg is and hip becomes more balanced or is this something that the patient needs to wear perpetually?
Hi Doc, I have a straitened neck but not military, arthritis and a pinched nerve causing tingling and numbness in my left arm and leg. Is an adjustment a safe method or do you recommend exercises or both? I’ve using traction and hanging by my arms and these are helping but I can’t solve it.
Hi Myself Tejas from India I have diagnosed with cervical pain numbness in my left hand head spinning from last two months as per MRI I have disc bulgness in c3 to c8 and d3 to d8 please guide me. what to do now
