Hi all. I started my channel as an online diary to keep a record of a vehicle restoration project I am working on, I am trying to convert a Mercedes Sprinter T1N into a campervan however, Coronavirus hit us and it's turned into a vlog as to how I have tried to keep my business afloat and my sanity intact. It's mainly me talking to my phone and occasionally interviewing people in and around my workshop {which I am in the process of turning into a recording studio} and sometimes I upload things I find of interest from around my hometown of Glasgow, as you'll see from the videos, it's all fairly lighthearted.
It's funny mate, I don't know why I do the wee videos? When I see oddball stuff in and around the city I pull the camera out. Do you know much about them yourself? We could hook up and do them together? Thanks for the idea and for commenting cheers
FWD and the access is OK when you get them jacked up. There's no issues getting to the bolts. It wasn't a hard job, just messy and you're lying on your back if you don't have a ramp or pit.... I am not a mechanic, I think the only thing I would recommend is, have a torque wrench handy, the bolts are just snug, I broke the oil feed "banjo" bolt the first time I tried bolting it back together, other than that, it's easily done in a few hours if you have all the parts hand. I did leave the sump gasket sealer overnight to cure as I was paranoid about oil leaks.
@@shugthehornyhaggis Hopefully the workshop should start making dough this year and double Hopefully I'll make my living from it next year. I had no idea what I was taking on, I am optimistic by nature but, I had no idea of the costs or length of time it was going to take to get it up and running.
@@shugthehornyhaggis It's tight mate, any dough I am making is being absorbed into the workshop at the moment. This will be the first month this year where I'll actually be able to keep some dough in my pocket. That was a tough couple of weeks but, it'll bring in some much needed mullah
@@peteradams408 In England I would agree with you, anyone apart from Lib, Lab, Con.... Reform could do well down South but, Scotlands always been left leaning so its independents of guys like Nick up here. Good luck buddy, hopefully we can get rid of these maniacs once and for all
Good video phil,, its about time the drug addicts (crackheads) wer off the city centre stteets around gordon st,4 corners its clear the police have lost there way with it
@@paulfianatravels Thanks Paul. There's always money for bailing out bankers and energy companies, it never seems to get where its needed, roads, policing, NHS etc
Glad it worked for you, it was a taxi mechanic that suggested I try it first, it was making a helluva grinding noise before I lubed it.. Best wishes from Scotland buddy
en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Glasgow_Harbour_Tunnel_Rotundas Mate the ratundras are amazing hydrolic lifts and magic The last time i looked on to it. the tunnels are still there and used as service tunnels cables pipes and what not
@@shugthehornyhaggis I would love to get up there and have a look Gavin... the building at the back is easily 4 stories, they're remarkable old machines
Nothing like a wee trip to the isle if shite, happy fathers day, i hope you had a good one. I feel sorry for your toilet tonight. You wre going to get the jail for saing such incendiary things family man, only 2 giraffes and an attack helicopter are aloud to have kids now without judgment.
@@zambotv8150 it's Amazing just how much you can be shat on pissed on kicked in the face screamed at and still adore it. Same to you Phil sending love from germany
Hi Phil. Nature needs to be protected, but modern environmental hysteria is not about environmental protection, but about stuffing pockets. And electric cars are still far from real ecology, given their manufacture, battery life and electricity, which also does not just come out of the socket.
@@zambotv8150 In this case, in order to sell something to people, you need to come up with something new, otherwise the old one will break. Therefore, now everything is done with a minimum reserve of strength. No car will be environmentally friendly if it needs to be replaced every 3-5 years. producing a new car will cause more harm than producing an old car that is produced only once every 15-20 years, regardless of engine type. So I completely agree with you... but a consumer society is being imposed on us

@@zambotv8150 I noticed that during Covid, many factories stopped working, the number of air flights decreased, then the war, sanctions... even more European factories stopped, direct flights to Russia stopped... Our sky changed color, it became blue, like in my childhood... in recent years it was gray, even in cloudless weather... it has become cleaner
It takes multinational companies bigger than governments to digitize and electrify the world. If not the governemtns stand in the way and regulate/restrict to hold onto power and control. Google , apple , Tesla etc move things on but noone else has the power to go above the western governements and take huge steps without being taxed or regulated.
ffs Gavin, usual sketch with Scotland, we had 10 days or so of 15 to 20 Celsius then, it's been raining and hoovering around 8 to 10C for the last 2 weeks... You said MG.s are Chinese didn't you? Hope you and your family are doing well buddy
@@zambotv8150 family is doing well mate we one is walking if not running and starting to talk so it's all fun, Yeah mg is the same company as maxxis ldv vans saic, I don't think there's import tax on them and I'm fairly sure the Chinese government is deliberately pishing these to be sold under value, Byd reliability in china is not good plenty of fun videos on your tube of them going in fire I still believe hydrogen is the answer, I find it interesting how Toyota comes out with a shit hot hydrogen car and the same year they close all the hydrogen stations
only just seeing this vidmate you dont seem to show up on my feed anymore for some reason. welcome to the pallets , thers more there if you want them. i do think your off your head even considering using them tho!
Pablo, you've known me long enough to know I surf a fine line between bonkersness and sanity. As for the pallets, cheers buddy, wait to you see what I do with them. As I said in the video it's a load of hassle recycling them but, there's something fulfilling about upcycling
Some facts about the cottage bar. The Glasgow tv detective show Taggart were filming in shettleston around 1986. They had planned to film a scene outside the cottage bar. The night before the film crew arrived somebody took s xan of spray paint to the white walls of the pub.... FUCK THE POLIS and TAGGARTS A PRICK all over the walls 6 feet high. Lol
I was in Polmont YO's back in 1989 and all I done 5 days a week for my full sentence was break up pallets, they called it the Pool party, truck after truck after truck came in full of them, every night it felt like I had took a sleeping tablet as slept like a log. Seen many fight too, despised the place and got me thinking about those men that done or still do hard labour breaking up rocks all day, or even men from the past that worked down the pits, one of which was my old Grandad, fair play to all such men. But every single time I see or hear the word Pallet! my head reverses right back to 1989 - I can see myself still breaking up those pallets, my hands were in some mess when I finally got released.
It's scrubbing up well Gavin. As I said in the video, it was Glasgow's "historic center" and should have never been bulldozed but, the phoenix is rising from the ashes
Id love to make a video comparing DIY center prices, I made videos in Asda and Tesco with the intention of comparing prices here but that was in January, Plastering is a skill I wish I had, im great at filling a hole, but plastering a full wall fuck that.
B&Q are pricy on loads of stuff but, plasterboard, plaster etc all seem to be price fixed...I bought the majority of the materials on Gumtree which saved a few quid
Some times tlu get gold in palets good hsrd wood cam be found, but most if them are cheep soft wood, nice pile, are all paletw treated wood? Euro palerw are trwsted for pests
It's just the usual crap Gav but, it'll be stained and varnished before I put it up... I don't really have a plan for inside the room yet, I'll get the TV screen mounted, some dampening up then pop in the monitors and have a listen.... It's been a bit of a mission mate but, I have a more realistic idea of ythe costs and the timeframe now for the rest of the construction
Hopefully I am on the last lap Paul.... I thought it was plaster ready weeks ago then, I had to rebuild that back wall and double skin the inside of the unit again... It's been a ballach mate but, at least I know what's involved in doing the building work now. Are you back in Scotland yet? Loved the Almeria video, hope you F and the weans are all good buddy, Z
God hppe your ok phil,, its funny ive got a sore throat snd a nasty cough,, ive had the cough for 4 days now ,, cough is getting worse ,, tonight bones are sore ,, wonder if ive got it
Apparently the first 4 days are the worst Paul. It flattened me mate, we've not heard about it in ages and now it appears again. It was like an on off switch. I felt fine then I was floored. Hope you're OK and I am looking forward to seeing your uploads from sunny Spain
www.camdenmarket.com/ I was thinking of Campden Market in London The Barras is prime real estate There's no reason we can't make it an all week round artisan food hub It would be amazing for that part of the city
Honestly Paul... As I said in the description stick your nose in and grab a coffee, it's a cracking wee shoap so it is.. Just watched your Barrow field video, there's still work to be done in the city eh, we still need to spend a few quid eh?
I'm impressed you saw 3. In Stirling no one's using the cycle lanes and they are everywhere in what used to be a gorgeous historic wee city. Great insite as well into the bankers and arms dealer racket.
