Questions, when you have the initial foot 'mould' and you use paper/card to wrap and then flatten to use as a template for leather sections I see you flatten the curves with little folds along the edges to indeed flatten it...this folds are previously 'shaped' off of the curved foot...when you fold them to flatten you effectively shrink the template slightly...the question is do you then rely upon the leather stretching through use to give you the same fit as when it had before you flattened it? That seems like the sensible answer in my mind and why a shoe would feel very snug initially? Also, the dark colour on the leather is a dye? How long does it take to get the dye penetrated enough to last a lifetime? Is that a process all of its own? Thanks!
How do you get the shoe mold thing out at the end? It seems like it was molded to it really tightly/nailed on? Also how do the first nails not work their way into the shoe? Genuinely curious. I know that they don't and that you clearly removed the plastic sizing thing, my brain just isn't fully understanding how. Beautiful work, though! It's clear a *lot* of knowledge and effort went into these. How many hours does a single pair of boots usually take you to make?
What does one cost? My foot doctor prescribed one for me. But, I only have a severe fly foot with over-pronation. Do you think I need an Arizona brace?
Great resole, but did the client want them black? If i gave my nicely patina’d light brown boots for a resole but they came back black, i’d be fricken pissed!

beautiful boots! and nice video and hand skills! is there a reason you sew the welt this way around? normally one would turn the skived edge against the boot and the side with the groove away from it for the stitches to sit in. and also why dont you moisten the insole when prepping? just curious :)

I have an accident deformed foot, but if I had a half-foot I would shorten my shoes for that foot rather than spend what has to be a LOT of money for a fake foot.
What have witnessed is an ART. Although i will never be able to afford such boots, but still i dream one day i can(still dreaming at 30yr old). The rich will sure enjoy this beauty
I’ve been an upholsterer for over 30 years and see the skills involved in this work. I was born with club foot and walk on the outer edge of my foot. All surgeries have failed. Would love to have a go at making my own orthotic boot but I don’t materials for this kind of work. Thanks for the upload and big respect for your craft ❤
