I enjoyed this video. One thing left out was the location of the mansion where Carlotta supposedly lived. It was located at the corner of Gough and Eddy Streets. I was in the 5th grade at the Catholic school next door when the movie was made. In a wide shot taken from the park across the street you can see the cyclone fence of the schoolyard. We were kept in the back yard during the filming so we didn't see much. The school was located in a victorian. Most of that block was torn down in the early 60s. As for Scotty's apartment building, the facade was blocked off some years ago because the owner was fed up with constant tourists hanging out and leaving their trash behind. If I owned it, I'd be more friendly, like the owner of the Doubtfire house.
This is one of the neatest uses of an I Ching symbol in film. Hitchcock's Vertigo (1958). The iron work design on the red railing is the Hexagram 52 of the I Ching. Hexagram 52 denotes keeping still or meditation or mountain. Which kind of fits with Jimmy Stewart's character in the film. He's suffering from fits of vertigo from his near fall in the opening chase scene of the film so he basically has to keep still and meditate upon avoiding heights for the entire rest of the movie.
you started the video with a lie -- you said "cold" feb morning -- but you are in a t-shirt --- as a Canadian i can tell you that your idea of cold is a *insult* to people who must endure *actual cold* -- you should take a trip to the yukon or baffin island or Canadian rockies in febuary
I’d also add in that Austin pumping Random Task was similar to Bond twisting the cloth on the sumo wrestler in _The Man with the Golden Gun_ to stress his Johnson!! which also ended in a konk to the head for someone from behind.
The old movies were Campy because the world was not a place for Real issues and a person with these abilities would have to be wounded and scared Not Campy
Nice job. Appreciate all the meticulous detail in recreating all the shots. I think you missed an obvious one: Mission Dolores at 16th St & Dolores St. This is where Madeleine visits Carlotta's grave. Otherwise, excellent job.
Star Trek taught me and did more for "diversity" than decades of "integration" and "busing" and "affirmative action" and really stoooopid "DEI" garbage.

Wow, you did a great job finding the exact locations. And you kind of confirmed what I've always assumed, that Madeline/Judy is aware of Scotty following her the day she goes to the flower shop etc.
Broadcast syndication is the practice of content owners leasing the right to broadcast television shows to multiple television stations without having an official broadcast network to air on. It is common in the United States where broadcast programming is scheduled by television networks with local independent affiliates.
@@Protokino so what is it in today's context? Considering Star trek discovery and Picard, etc. I assume they have official networks. But they ending up on OTT platforms - is it the same idea?
@@Protokino BTW REGARDING LAS VEGAS IF YOU CAN EVER SOMEHOW LOCATE THE DENIRO SHARON STONE HOUSE FROM CASINO LET ME KNOW (I AM IN LAS VEGAS AND ALWAYS SCOUTING / HUNTING FOR LOCATIONS) - CHEERS PROTOKINO!
Do the lights really illuminate when a plane comes down to the runway? If so, that is pretty hardcore dedication of the craft from Michael Mann making use of every organic resource at his disposal.
I was lead to believe, that the original 'Psycho' house, had burned down, back in the mid-to-late '90's, when a fire on this backlot, razed a number of buildings🤔.
The water tower in the left & back of the schoolhouse - we converted it to a dwelling where I lived in '77 & '78. Such a beautiful area & charming, small town of Bodega. Much memorabilia of the movie around the town. I miss it!
hahaha I always have the same thought in my head. Iconic. Great video and really nice editing for the overlays. I've watched the movie so many times and have lived in Las Vegas and just assumed mostly everything was gone or covered over especially around The Mint.
I lived in Sebastopol when this film came out. A couple of my brothers' classmates were in the classroom in the movie and a couple of my parents' friends were in the restaurant for the movie as well. They weren't actors, but people, who were there at the time of the making of the movie and included in the scenes.
