The problem I'm having is during cutoff both spindles start spinning but they don't move they just spin. What's weirder is that when i put in handle mode and select b to move it manually it doesn't move either. Any ideas?
What about tool radius compensation g41/g42? I think that it should be done this way: cut along the Z axis, measure the diameter. For example we measured the diameter and it is 80 millimeters. The cutter radius is for example 2 millimeters. So we add 2 multiplied by 2 to eighty. We get 84. We go to the work offset page and press X 84. measure. So we tell the machine that the cutters radius centre is located 2 millimeters out of the part surface and on the Z axis we also set the offset as 2 millimeters. Would it work that way?
The diameter doesn’t change with nose radius compensation, if you take a cut and measure the diameter to be let’s say 50mm then you measure X50. in the geometry offset page, given that you don’t have a probe that does it automatically. G41/42 just takes into account the tool radius which affects chamfers, circles etc, you don’t need it if you’re turning just horisontal and vertical.
This video helped me. I’m in a sink of swim situation at work and had a tough time figuring out that all I needed to do was change offset values in G55. Thank you
for anyone trying to do this on a mazak and mazatrol 640MT remember your Z OFFSET value when you touch off ( TEACH) your tool to the part (part Z0) make sure you teach with that Z offset value !! it took me 3 days to figure this out
This video will be help full for me , been running a MORI SEIKI with the mori dmg control and now getting moved to a new Doosan with a touch screen control.. having trouble finding decent tutorials. thanks for not speeding up the video and just playing stupid music like the other videos I have found.. its nicer to hear some one explaining what they are doing.. 👍👍
Why do you cut on the part or touch off to the face after you touched off to the probe? Thought the probe did that already and set geometry coordinates? Am I missing something?
