Hello, I have an Acura TL 2005, my car alarm went off and now the VSA Light & Yellow TRIANGLE is on the Dash Board. My car was stuck in park, I could not change or shift gears. I did this method, now I have to keep doing this to drive. How do I fix this so I don't have to keep sticking in a screwdriver to drive and how to get rid of the VSA Light & Yellow Triangle? ty
@@peterstamps5210 Actually I recommend that everyone see a mechanic to fix the problem. Fortunately mine was simple - a burnt out rear brake light. But it could have been something much more serious.
I appreciate the comment. I always try to keep the message concise. I can't stand other youtubers that drone on and on about trivial nonsense, or don't have video editing tools, or even a tripod, and take 10 minutes to say what could be said in 2 minutes.
If you look at some other comments, they most simple and likely problem is a burnt out brake light bub. If that's not it, I'd recommend taking your car to a mechanic shop. It could be any number of things. As I mentioned, this is an emergency procedure.
Please look at my replies to others. I've answered this question several times. There are too many things to list that could cause this. The simpliest problem is a burned out brake light. Please get your car to a mechanic ASAP!
Yes it does. It is stationary and does nothing and really doesn't even have to be there. The wire is wound and unwound from the spool on the motor side. In anticipation of your next question, there is no automatic off mechanism. The operator must hit the switch once the bucket is sealed against the ceiling and the spring has started to stretch. Good luck if you are building your own and thanks for watching!
Unfortunately, that's not a simple answer and one that I can't diagnose from here. The simpliest problem is a burned out brake light bulb. If that doesn't work, you should consult a mechanic. Good luck
Thank you so much for your 2020 red hawk user guide. My wife and i just bought the same model and again we found your video very very helpful . Byrnes Family Amagansett , N.Y.
I'm glad I could help you out in a fix, but you've got to find the root cause. If you look down through the comments, you can see some of the possible causes. There are many different causes so it is impossible for me to list all the causes. Two likely causes which are easy to fix are a burnt out brake light or fuse. DO NOT DEPEND ON THIS TECHNIQUE. If unsure, take it to a mechanic for a diagnostic.
Why did it happen in the first place and what is the fix to get it back to normal ?? My car is in the shop and when my son tried to drive me to work this morning, his tl wouldn't shift into drive. Is this a security issue ??
Jim, please see the other comments. The most common cause is a burnt out brake light bulb, but it could be a dozen other things, too. I'm not a mechanic and don't have all the answers. Whatever the root cause, it needs to be found and fixed. This is just a quick hack or work around.
I'm glad I could help you out in a fix, but you've got to find the root cause. If you look down through the comments, you can see some of the possible causes. Always go for the easiest to solve, like a burnt out brake light.
Good point. Nice catch! Being that the item is sitting on graph paper that has 10 squares to the inch, I would calculate that the piece of wood is 3/8 inch wide.
Mike P., I wanted to take the time to THANK YOU for the GREAT tip on how to get the gearshift out of PARK. It worked like a charm and I was able to get to my appointments on time & return home safely in my 2000 Acura TL! I have a question: You wouldn't happen to know what makes the automatic transmission gearshift get stuck in the "park" position by chance? By nature, I'm very curious...this one baffles me? I sure would like to know "why" this happened...and does it only happen on Acura vehicles??? Additionally, I have LIKED and SUBSCRIBED to your RU-vid channel. Once again, My family & I truly appreciate that you shared this "EASY-TIP-THAT-GET-INSTANT-RESULTS" on the RU-vid platform! ;-D *P.S. Also, Thank you for sharing the measurements for making a device that will help when there isn't a proper tool to be found! 😀That was super cool! Now, I have the peace of mind that I can use the device whenever it's NEEDED! I tucked it in the glove compartment (where it's easy to find in case of an emergency with the gearshift (again). Bless you, dear Sir!!
I am very pleased to hear your kind compliments and for liking and subscribing. Unfortunately, the root problem could be many things, and that's why it isn't a simple answer nor one that I can't diagnose from here. The simpliest problem is a burned out brake light bulb. It could also be a blown fuse. Those are two things you might be able to correct yourself. I am not an Acura mechanic, so If those don't work, you should consult a mechanic. I'm sorry if I couldn't be more help. Good luck
@@atwosheds mine came with a small box that takes one input from the head unit and splits it to two, one for tweeters and one for the woofer. Meaning I would have to run extra wire etc etc. Doesn't matter though, I'm sending them back and replacing with some easy 2 way speakers.

Thank you so much for this video!! if not for you, I wouldn't be able to get my Acura out of park to put the emergency brake on so that someone would be able to tow it thank you you are a lifesaver
what about your brake lights.? I'm having to drive home from town using a screwdriver to get out of park every time I stop but brake lights are lit up constantly.!
Mike, thanks for the video. I spent over an hour and was frustrated with Crutchfield's bracket instructions but thanks to you, I was able to install the front speakers in less than 15 minutes. Thanks again!
Glad it helped. Crutchfield is pretty awesome in general, but whether the kit came the way they intended or not, I made the adjustment and it worked for me.
If you look back at earlier comments, it could be a variety of things, but it is most likely something wrong with your brakes. (bad fuse, burnt bulb) It would be impossible to list every condition. If its not a fuse or a bulb, take it to a mechanic. I hope that helps.
