There’s still a path if they win out, but most fans weren’t really expecting to make the playoffs this season. BK is bringing in a crazy recruiting class next year so everyone kinda understood this was more of a bridge year.
@@426thAirborne BK inherited a mess from Ogeron. And he is a far superior coach to Ed.He hasn't been able to recruit the kind of talent on defense that Ed and even Les Miles. That ends next year.Thats when the return of the defense begins. Great recruiting on that side of the ball. BK is the best coach we've had since Saban. And pretty much everybody knows that.
It would be best for both Nuss and Underwood to be around next year. Look at what Burrow and Daniel’s did in their second year. Also it’s a very large jump from high school QB to college and one year getting some clean up rep.s and adapting is beneficial.
Don't assume that because Nuss is not Joe Burrow or Jayden Daniel's. I can't see him ever winning a Heisman. I hope he plays well..puts up impressive numbers...and heads to the NFL.
Don't assume that if Nuss stays..he wins the Heisman. He is not Joe or Jayden. I hope he has a great season and moves on to the NFL.Bryce Underwood is not riding the pine for anybody. And I don't want anything to cause him to decommit.
Could you do a review of C Hurley QB development I was really excited about him & Archie 2.0 as prospects for the BRONCOS in time & would like to know how he is developing- he is exceptionally smart & has a CANON for an arm... that would be an interesting show- thanks I for one would highly value that show & commentary especially from a reliable & honest fair reporter like your self- thanks- appreciate you!
BRONCOS need Whit Weeks at ILB for sure- I hope he likes Colorado & we are smart enough to give him a good home in Denver- absolutely awesome football player- he really plays the game properly- Loved the GL Stand- that was one of the most awesome plays I have seen this season- Great Win- the Team IS playing better & the Tackling still needs improvement but it is getting better >>> want to see how they play against bama- that Ga-bama game was epic- it's almost always like that... ga holding the lead for 13 seconds before 1 play & DONE... brutal
Garrett just needs to stay another year but people are just on this Bryce Underwood who knows if he was going to stay committed to LSU if he does he just need to take a seat on the bench and wait his turn
Bryce is not coming to Baton Rouge to ride the pine...not even for a year. If he is going to be the next Jayden....Nuss better declare for the draft. These kids don't want to wait. It's play me now....or I'll hit the portal.
Matt, our Team can compete with any team, after watching the Alabama vs Georgia game. I don’t see any dominance by anyone in the top 20 . Our 1st game against USC was excellent, should have been our win. We were able to measure our capabilities as a team. Go Tigers !!!
If you watched the bama- ga game then you should be exceptionally concerned... ga had a lead for exactly 13 seconds & then 1 Play & bama was the game winner- imagine that for 60 min against LSU's garbage on fire 2ndary & you are looking at a 50 burger regardless of whether Nuss learns to set his feet when on the move outside the pocket or not... LSU will need all their WR playing at a high rate & NOT DROPPING BALLS if they want to roll with the TIDE 2024- bcuz like it or not bama can put up points in a real hurry & LSU's 2ndary is not even on the same planet as ga & its stellar #20 ranked nationally DEF 2ndary against the PASS & 24th OA against all teams DEF also as TTL Yrds PASS DEF LSU #96 & Ga #25... so if bama can do that to ga... what do you think they will do to LSU?!!? That being said LSU is improving & we really haven't seen the version of the DEF that we are about to as they run the 7 game SEC gauntlet to the determination of teams in the 2024/5 playoffs for the Nat'l championship... right now LSU, I believe is a TOP 10 Contender [now ranked #12/13 depending on source... so if they keep winning they could be knocking on the door however with 4 Nat'l Ranked Teams in The Nation on the Slate incl bama- that could also put them in the tank if the back end of the DEF does not hold... so definitely we are going to know what LSU is after the next 4 games: Ole Miss [12th Nat'l], AT Arkansas [#10 SEC], AT Texas A & M [25th Nat'l/ #1 SEC], & bama 1st or 2nd Nat'l depending on your source & #3 SEC... then Fla is on the road before finishing the season with Vandy & Oak in LSU at home... If the ONLY loss on the record is the 1st Game AT USC by 1 score then I think they have to be in the Playoffs... if they lose again then it's extra motivation to finally get an opening day win in the HC Kelly era for next season!
@@MrAdamNTProtester One loss and they are in. You can get in with 2....but if LSUs 2nd loss is to Alabama..they are out.And Bama is still playing with Sabans kids.Once they are gone...that's when the balance of power occurs.
@matthewsoileauEdD way to soon to give a shit what I say. Enjoy your day. Also looks like is not a definite statement. Nussmier looks like the best QB in college football. But he ain't.
Corey Raymond coaches the CB’s, Jake Olsen coaches the Safeties. You’re trying to shade on Raymond, but It’s the safeties position that’s the worst on the team yet you shade CR with negativity and say nothing about Olsen, I wonder why? If you choose to throw your funky a$$ negativity around, make sure it lands in the right place.
Nuss misses too many throws, especially deep shots and endzone fades but I believe in him. The defense still gives up too many big plays. But I see progress.
Considering fans were saying either lsu was going to lose, or SA was going to score 24 or more, you think fans would be happy. Nothing will make yall happy unless LSU is perfect, which no team is.
Exactly 😂. We win 42-10 and people still find something to crap on. Not Matt, but i saw a couple guys talking about the 2nd half. LSU allowed a TD in the 2nd half, and that was it. I don't care about the yardage. Thise guys were up by 30+ points from late in the 3rd until the end of the game minus the 5 minuts it took to get to 42 points. Defense was playing, but how much do you think they play up at that point? This hapoens to every 5 we were going against a supposed "juggernaut" of an offensive team. We found our balance on offense, we found that Weeks will be just fine, and we realize our DL is a staunch unit. The only real problem on the team now is the safeties, and i think that improves if we just see less Sage and Allen. We score 56 points if Nuss doesn't throw two awful passes (one because he was trying to be greedy).
At ease!!!! Not at all. Throw five yard dump downs because our down field routs and receivers rarely get open. Play calling against weak teams is nothing. Bama will rape us
If he sets his feet & drives the ball the 2nd INT doesn't happen & it is a TD instead >>> so the decision was excellent- it was a question of slowing down & ensuring you hitch & drive that ball- people would not be complaining about Nuss if he makes that play & it is an easy fix- he had the room & time to stop set his feet & make the play- his enthusiasm got the better of him so an easy correctable mental mistake- maybe even a selfish mistake so I am happy to see BK get in his ear & make sure his "just want to ball out" positive experience was turned into a I don't want to return to the sideline after that bad experience- then maybe next time he will take a minute & set his feet & help the team by making the play instead of harming the team with a weak sauce throw that had no chance of being a completion & big gainer- great HC job by an UNDERATED HC- I think LSU will be a powerhouse in a few years- maybe even starting this season if they can keep improving- that 2ndary tho- terrible- if they do not get way better real fast bama is going to tear them up for sure!
very interesting you bring up the pace of the offense.. if you remember 2022, Jayden Daniels had this weird struggle where if he snapped the ball with less than 15 seconds on the play clock, he would just be awful. Maybe there's something there and BKs offense just works better at quick pace
Just wondering if you still think 🤔 we are falling apart at Bama like u predicted 4 weeks ago??? Looks like y'all are falling apart. While we keep winning. Roll MF TIDE 🌊
The Jags were outmatched in the trenches. The Jags came out trying to prevent Nussmeier making explosive plays with his arm. Didn’t account for Durham and being overpowered by the line. I'm proud of how the Jags played the second half. I feel good going forward into the season. Go Jags!
Die hard LSU fan here, I was really worried about this game because of that high flying offense and our defense has not been consistent but they showed up last night. I was really expecting a shoot out. The JAGS should hold their heads high because they played a really good second half, best of luck with the rest of their season.
Frazier fell on Durham’s ankle at the goal line… I saw it live and was worried when I saw it. Hope he recovers quickly bc he’s been a real bright spot for our running game.
For anyone that was doubting the play calling for LSU this year. You should be at ease by now. The office is doing extremely well and play calling seems to be pretty much up to standards. Once again the defense is still the area of concern. With the post of key players and the meat of the schedule from here on some of the younger players are gone have to step up. The second half of this game did not look as Brite for the offense though. The defense has improved. But they have some good offensive teams ahead.
Our inability to stretch the field turns our best strength to a weakness that will cost us two or three games. We were told Hilton was healthy for three games and nothing. The kid from FL has world class speed and has been almost never used. He has talent but should transfer to where he will star. The even Nichols had us blanketed outside of 12 yards. Dump downs. Better teams will kill us.
Dude lsu schudule us weak relax everyone said ole miss was unstoppable u seen what hapoen none if these teams but lsu played anybody u really dont know who good except bama
What kid from Florida? 😂 Stretching the field will only make this offense more explosive. Right now it's a top 30 offense and will be top 20 once Durham is the main RB.
@@DeborahVerret-yp9fp So do I. I had been wondering how he was doing, also. I am still praying for him after everything he has been thru. So young to be going thru such a terrible thing such as a brain tumor. I will keep praying for both him and his family. God , please take care of him and watch over both him and his family. Amen. We don't realize what a precious thing our health is, should never take it for granted , really shouldn't. Our life and health are both such precious gifts from god. Take care, Greg.
starting to TACKLE- Whit Weeks is a massive help- looks like the Perkins Inj is going to play out as addition thru subtraction- the bama OFF tho- really going to test what so far has been a garbage CB room... we'll see how they are playing by then... still far more intrigued by what LSU can do against bama then before this win- the DEF HAS IMPROVED- no question about that- now it's just- how much they will improve? that 13 sec lead of ga that evaporated with ONE PLAY was S.I.C.K... I am not so sure LSU's 2ndary can handle that type of challenge at all! We'll see.
Look up for yourself the BK press conference video for coach's exact words saying, "Foot, I don't see it as being a major injury." I searched for injury under his name and found nothing on him about injury.
Matt, love your daily podcast! Question: I would like to attend an LSU game next season, so is there a company who handles that type of trip? Looking for tailgating, tickets, etc.
LSU has done the same thing 3 games in a row Nicholls 23-14 1st half 21-7 2nd half SC 16-24 1st half 20-9 2nd half UCLA 17-17 1st half 17-0 2nd half I think it'll be something like USA 28-17 1st half 31-7 2nd half I think LSU scores on every possession in the first half and USA scores on 3/4 possessions, maddening LSU fans. They then get the ball in the 2nd half because BK loves taking the ball first, unless it's a hostile environment, and score, making it 28-24. Fans get nervous and pissed, and then we score on the next drive, making it 35-24. We cause a turnover and go down the field, making it 42-24 (2 scores within 4 minutes of each other). Again, we get a 3rd down stop and score another TD, making it 49-24 going into the fourth. Then most fans clear out the stadium because they see a secured win. LSU tacks on a FG on Nuss's last drive cappin a 325 y 4 TD night and LSU is up 52-24 with 7 minutes to go. At this point we get some more backups and freshman in, and USA drives and gets into the redzone. Instead of a FG, they go for it on 4th down, and don't make it. LSU is running the clock out with QB Collins, RB Durham, and RB Johnson. With a 1:30 left on a 3rd down run, Durham breaks free for a 45 yard TD ru, giving it back to USA with around a minute left. They just run the clock out. LSU wins 59-24. Some people are pissed with the first half effort and Kelly receiving first (if he has a choice), while others are happy we kept them to 24 points points and scored nearly 60 (that will be me). In reality, we're just trying to get to the bye with no more injuries, and a win that doesn't leave more questions than answers.
