@@TheConstruct_VR Great interview btw. It's a great idea, but I hearing Meta is going to change their OS design so this may be obsolete. They did the same with airplay that replaced virtual desktop.

If you haven't already, I HIGHLY encourage you to get 4XVR and do as much hunting or ripping as you must to get your hands on a very high quality 3D movie in the MVC (.iso) format. It blows away any SBS/UO 3D video I've ever played in Skybox.
I just bought a Samsung Galaxy Book 4 Ultra, which it has WiFi 6e. Could I connect my Quest 3 directly to it using a hotspot option? I know it's a silly question, but just to be sure
Yeah I would think so but I’m not completely sure how the rest of it works like does the virtual desktop client look to that hotspot as a network device or not. If so… I can’t see why it wouldn’t work
Hey great vid! I don't think you need the Skybox VR Player to cast at all. I just tested it, and as long as you have an Apple TV 3 you can Airplay/Cast directly to it from the Oculus app.
Hey thanks for watching! You’re correct casting to a TV doesn’t need a go between. This is the other way around… this is casting content directly from your phone to your quest. No other devices in between. I may tweak the title of the video.
Great video i hope other app let you share your phone screen inside the app, it would be nice. I just wanted to say that the IMMERSED app on ios let you cast the phone screen as a monitor inside the app😉

But the games are getting quite large (asgards wrath 2 is at like 30 GB , Assassins Creed is 20) so it really depends on how many big titles you want to store on your headset. Other games are around 4gb on average. So you can fit a lot of small games. I currently have a 128gb and I do have to delete games to keep space available I play a lot of PCVR especially when quest games are cross buy on quest and PC, I never keep those on my headset. This keeps me afloat If you just want to be able to install what you want and not worry about deleting things to make room go with the 512GB, you’ll save yourself the trouble of managing. I love this app for movies I've been using this app for years if you get the desktop app you can add movies that you own into it then stream the movies from your PC to the headset wirelessly with no lag
I use all 3 of these as well and Skybox VR is worth the price for it's quality and support. And the passthrough support is great and this kind of integration of MR is what makes the Q3 worth the upgrade. Top pick if overall quality of the movie is important to you. VD is ok for playing videos but not as easy. If you want to play PCVR games and don't watch many movies and also don't want to also pay for skybox, it will work but it's more clunky and doesn't look as good. If I'm already in PCVR and want to check out something quickly that is the only time will use this. Bigscreen is only worthwhile if you want to hang out with other people. Of course it is free also. Now it is cool that you can stream your own movies with a friend then password protect your theater and only you and your friends are in there. I did this once streaming gravity and it worked really well. But I've had VR since the pandemic and I've only done this one time. One you didn't mention is in VRChat. There is a good one similar to bigscreen and VRchat is also free. Search for Duke's 3D Cinema. Pretty much all 3D movies are available and you can make the room private so you don't have to deal with other people. You can also password protect it so only people you know can join. Check it out.
I'm not big on using my phone for video or pictures, so I'd like to use this time for some 'constructive' critique. In you vids I always notice you really move your head around a lot when you capture with the quest. Much of the time I can't get a good fix on what your showing us because your looking around. Maybe, if you choose to, keep this in mind when recording. Love your content, your the man .

Dude its so weird seeing the warping in passthrough again, when i finally got the v66 update its NIGHT & DAY different, almost ZERO warp. (Hopefully you have it now since this video) 🤘
This is actually v66 . You can still trigger the warping. I think the light from the phone and sun in the room got it triggering a bit. I agree though passthrough is SO much better now.
@@TheConstruct_VRyeah my faceid ir sensor always trigger warping, also aluminum food cases make a strange slow autofixing warp while eating and it didn't before v66. i still have less warp than you btw
@@TheConstruct_VR also warping is caused by ai trying to filling the gap between cameras images, so it changes how well it works based on too much things. still impressive for 500$ headset
If you want to keep consistent have you thought about filming a few in the one day or whenever you have time to have some in the can? I feel like it’s easier to be ahead than it is to catch up.
Yeah it’s rough… can you pull up those movies in a web browser? If you use Apple TV on Virtual Desktop for example and turn off hardware acceleration on the browser.. Apple TV works. Or maybe try Fluid or The Spatial app, in that order.. Fluid is free. I
It wouldn’t be worth it… you see that 1+sec delay? Most things would be unplayable. Also it didn’t seem to just mirror the phone entirely. I had to turn on screen mirror and then start some content.
Yo construct, have you checked out a headstrap called Destek Q4 it recently launched with a battery version and people say that is the best that they ever tried. I am going to buy a quest 3 in a few months and I am indecisive between the Kiwi and the Destek. Love ur vids!

Shots for every time I say "Experimental Feature" 🍹 LOL. I know this is probably old news for my fellow enthusiasts out there but the VisionOS 2.0 update adding mirroring reminded me of this. I hope Meta can work something out with Apple to bring this to the Horizon OS.
No not that I know of Virtual Desktops is the closest thing. It actually has a client that installs on your machine as a virtual monitor. Still wireless though.
I would see that when I was using my old PC. It’s just a processing power issue I think. Like how quickly your Pc can push the image over the USB cable. What are your PC specs?
This was actually a few updates back. It’s just that recordings look better because your eyes aren’t so close to the screen. Are you on version 66? It’s quite a bit better. Is in headset. Also … a little pro tip. Go to the accessibility options and increase the contrast. It helps it look better. This does impact everything not just pass through.
That would be much better If you preffer to make meetings like this one by using VR meeting apps. Because you guys people who want to show potential of this technology to world so USE it )))

Yeah this def feels like a sign that working in AR/VR is being taken seriously by a bunch of companies. I bet they have stuff brewing that we can’t even imagine bro
Although I prefer VD to any VR players out there but if you really have to use skybox then buying Quest Game Optimizer is must. Having said that VD + PC is superior to any VR players out there by huge margin.

I think I'll get this for my nephew 🥰 I gave him my Quest 2 about a year ago and he also loves drawing. He's 5 🥰 he mainly draws letters and numbers and equations lmao hopefully this will also help to expand his imagination.
that ending was funny. But about the content, another great review, right tro the point and fullof realistic facts about it. I feel this device is a nice touch literally to the ecosystem, but very very specific about the public range of users that actually needed, just like you mentioned. But the price is a bit too much.

You can watch it via browser. Turn off hardware acceleration in chrome or edge and try it. I got it working in virtual desktop. But I had to use a browser the “app” blocks you. 🤦🏽♂️
