Remember John when you & I did these trips? All gone now. Don't believe everything you hear from people namely Peter Cleghorn. It was great when Craig joined us but they are now memories.
Yes Keith I remember all the fun trips we did all over the place in your Ford Anglia "Lorraine", sometimes with Craig "Scottie", John Russell "JR", and enjoyed your jovial talk and joking as well.
Some of the SA and SD carriages are now used for the 'Te Huia" service running between Auckland and Hamilton, and the 'Capital Connection' between Wellington and Palmerston North. However, some of the other SA's and SD's can be donated to a steam society or can be repurposed for another train service like the 'TranzAlpine' or another service.
I've still not been to see this, lol - or even the Hundertwasser building, and now part of the Pohe Island playground has opened. So much to go look at, when I next decide to cycle to town.
Yes, a couple of friends chased this train by road to get photos, and one of them had this green Ford Anglia which he nicknamed Lorraine, and other friends called it the Lorrainiciser.
these DMU's should start to be used on the auckland to hamilton route. They're so beautiful and I'm thinking about them plus they're way better than the electric trains. These DMU's should keep going they're doing a very good job.
I used to go on these noisy trains when I was young and they are my favourite because they go very fast and they have comfy seats. I love them and I want them to keep going.
Feeling homesick watching this from overseas. Panmure is where I lived for years. Used run around the Panmure basin and hang around the township and the huge library. I even remember the carpark across from the gym we used to do training up in that carpark and the big gymnasium nearby that the busway now goes past. Loved living near the Basin and the Mountain. So many happy memories of those years. I look forward to returning one day.
Thank you so much for sharing the man on the scooter 40 minute mark on video is my father he's passed away now was out of it to see him on this video awesome everyday thank you very much for sharing
I have never heard of this place, had to google it to see if it was in the UK. It's a bit further away than I expected, but if I am ever in NZ I will be visiting it for sure!
Kinda cool to see that this has finally been built and it will be cool to see what gets built from Pakuranga. But I also feel I have to say: I'm a bit surprised that they didn't build the one out West to Massey before this.
We can't all be at a rally like this, but I would suggest that we support the next one by a contribution to farmers' fuel costs. I'd be happy to give a little if someone knows how to organise it.
Dear government leave farmers alone if people chose to buy a electric vehicle they can. Don't force them. Every one knows its the pole shift not climate change
