Back in 2015, I began to produce videos on what interested “me”. What began as an occasional hobby turned into a passion as I realized that there is always something new to learn, or when given the opportunity to teach and/or help others each and every day.
Originally, I was focused on video games and movies and took them at face value which is what we should be able to do at times; sit back, relax, enjoy and turn off the thought process, (if we are ever truly able to do so). Eventually my interest and research in psychology, philosophy and their effect on the world and, in this case, specifically the area of entertainment, led me to further research.
More recently, I have been drawn to the important topics of mental health and autism. Never has there been a more important time for us to be informed, raise awareness and support one another throughout the various challenges we are faced with in life.
I am happy for a new generation to gamers SH2 in a new coat of paint Even if its a different and not a 9/10 I am still excited. I mean there are people who trash talk the new RE remakes because nostalgia makes them believe that change is bad, but the remakes revived a stale franchise again
only anime I ever watched was Ghost in the Shell: SAC and I was like 15 and didn't understand most of it lol. maybe I should check some more animes out 👍
The final section of this video reminds me of Graeber's interpretation of Zhuangzi, namely, "Swim with the fishes." To have fun, fish need water, and we human beings need play.
I don't know if the soundtrack is amped by my nostalgia, but the .hack//infection//mutation//outbreak soundtrack for PS2 was absolutely incredible. I never played the fourth//final game, but those ambient tracks that played in the "game" worlds were so immersive and uncanny I will never forget them.
Doesn't Lilith represent lust and is like the original temptation or something? Sorry if this is illogical, but wouldn't it be fitting if the first image you see of a person in the game besides James is Lilith.
I have gotten high AF and watched this video like 10 times this week. its too real man, love you all. Even tho I do not know you, you reading this love you <3
I've just finished watching two Japanese streamers on RU-vid, playing first hour and half of the remake. They went to a flower shop and I was thinking I don't remember that place! but here 27:36 (I guess?!) . That's some efforts Bloober team have put into making the game. Well, I really hope they don't screw or should say butcher Maria's character ... Not crossing My finger though!
Honestly, Bloober expanding on the exploration of the town is such a cool idea. It reminds me a lot of SH1 and how that game prioritizes exploration in order to get the best endings in the game. And I totally agree that the only thing I'm worrying about is Maria's portrayal.
Yeah, watched that stream too, looked really good, I really hope bloober aďds to the game in a positive way but true agree with both of you , Maria's changes are not giving me a good vibe ...
Thanks for the stream! It was cool to see your longform play, seeing the story in-game is something a lot of us won't have the chance to enjoy, so to hear your thoughts as you played through was a well spent evening. Have the best week Max!
Its not animated but Naoki Urasawa's Billy Bat is utterly fantastic. Honestly i love all of his works and would recomened you read/watch them whenever you have time. And though unfinished forever Satoshi Kon's Opus is another good read.
You had me until 18:21 and started talking that "everyone has their moments when they can't stop themselves from physically assaulting" shite that concerns me for people who may believe themselves to be that way.
in my mind a singularity event would be multiple timeline reconvergence. like what happens in deus ex. makes me wonder when yoko taro would have his dc comics crisis on infinite earths moment by being too overwhelmed to possibly keep up with his distinct timelines.
It’s a common misconception that i have no mouth and i must scream is a sci-fi story, it’s actually not the case, it’s a fantasy story; Harlan Ellison was keen that his work on the book is purely fantasy. Even followed up and said that he could understand the confusion. But it is in fact a fantasy story
I like this game but I couldn't for the life of me finish it. I tried twice but the story put me in distress multiple times. And aspects about growing up in an abusive household and becoming abusive yourself are something that hits wayyy to close to home. It was so hard that I couldn't even enjoy the fun parts. I didn't even see them as such until you put them this way. To me until now they always felt random but the parts about paranoia were like a call back. I'm happy other people can enjoy this game
i think the nimrod connection is really strange considering the way both names would be spelled in kanji. in English its a palindrome but in kanji the syllables are completely different. spelling "Nimrod" you'd get something like "Ni-mu-ro-do", and if you reverse that you get "Do-ro-mu-ni", whereas "Dormin" would be spelled "Do-ru-mi-nu" I realize they're more than capable of spelling and pronouncing English words but I don't think it would have vibed with native Japanese speakers the way it does with us.
I love anime because the people in animes have such beautiful values that the world has already forgotten. Sometime I just wanna live in an anime because of the ppl values.
I love the four movies that actually scared you. I would add White Chicks, to that list, unless you haven’t seen it. Jokes aside, those four movies are very different sub-genres, and each have the loss of one’s agency, as a central theme, whether it’s obvious, as in Body Snatchers, or hidden, as in Hereditary. tTCMassacre is loss of it through being abducted by a family of cannibalistic psychopaths, and The Shining could be interpreted as Jack losing his own agency, by way of a living hotel, that finds ways to keep spirits in horrible reenactments of abuse and murder.
Ouf. This game messed me up. Hysterical, genuinely creepy, and heartbreaking. I'm almost mad at Dingaling for doing such a damn good job screwing with my emotions.
Also try Lisa the pointless, its worth it, although it much more hardcore and difficult, difficult enough that you even can just softlock yourself unable to beat an enemy in front of you anymore
