I have used the electric and 1050 riggers for many years. ru-vid.comUgkxbjBedIFSQ6Y6rp8DrCC_aoWMZI8GUpmH I bought these lake trollers for my 15’ Grumman sport boat and they worked almost perfectly for fishing lake trout. The only negative is that they seemed sticky on the retrieval, so I removed the spool and greased the underside of the stainless steel plate with some lip balm (the only thing I could think to use that I had on the boat with me). Then they worked much more smoothly. I don’t recommend using these down riggers if you’re planning on fishing deeper than 50’ as you’ll spend more time cranking than you will fishing.
My cover lid would not stay closed. After watching your video, I realized my downriggers would not latch closed because they were missing the emergency wrench. The cover lid latches on to the wrench!😂

If you catch a fish you want to keep, you have to make a note in the chart. Specify type of fish, sex, age, species etc. How am i suppose to know all this ? I just want damn fish to eat !!!!!!!!!!!!! And this is only for a month ?
simple plain cat food and dollar store canned mackarel works fine,,with this bait idea shown it will be cheaper to buy live spot prawns in most Washington State stores for a few meals.
*We tried this out finally yesterday and it worked awesome! **enjoyable.fishing** recommend it’s we put it on our 16 foot aluminum boat and trolled with it. We didn’t catch anything but it was still fun and worked awesome! Can’t wait to use this baby again and hopefully reel in a big ole fish! Very easy to install and set up.*

Not really practical they are designed to be trolled not cast. Theoretically ofcoarse you could cast anything with a hook to catch a fish however haha. Use a diver, down rigger, mooch with a 4 to 6 oz banana weight, ect
Hey John, went out to Jeff Head a couple of days ago and caught 2 limits of slivers. DOW was about 220 ft. deep and fishing depth was 150. Pretty deep for Silvers, eh! The setups were a mountain dew flasher with cookies and cream coho killer the other one was a purple haze flasher and purple spatter back ace hi fly.
This is the worst way to do it. Use a palomar knot absolutely no need to use crazy glue. Only reason he is using crazy glue is he is using a knot that will literally cut itself with braid.
"The stupid government wants us to buy fishing licenses" I hear certain individuals say this and think about the amount of people I have seen at lakes and rivers fishing with their tackle box that they bought at the dollar store, this has increased so much its concerning, and with the amount of people you have a increase in garbage and waste piling up after they leave..add to that the amount of fish that is illegally taken, who will pay to clean up the mess? or pay to monitor the resources and to ensure people are not dumping garbage and leaving human waste behind? Do you think these individuals that are saying comments like the above will open their wallet to pay ? not a chance, you either increase their taxes or make them pay for a fishing license. The natural resources need to be monitored, maintained and protected, I am not happy about taxes or buying fishing licenses but I rather have something in place to ensure that future generations have the chance to enjoy fishing and the natural surroundings, this requires money, and we all know money does not fall from trees, leaving it up to the folks that say "The stupid government wants us to buy fishing licenses" will result in a free for all with garbage and waste as the end result. Over population coupled with people not caring about their natural resources will not allow for take what you want there is no fees.
I bought the book saltwater fishing and it's wonderful but on page The depths for shrimping are only 89 and 73 ft That's not what my chart plotter shows
