Sydney is one of the most expensive cities in the world - anywhere there will be expensive. Prior to moving to Thailand 2 1/2 years ago, I spent a couple of years sailing on my 40 ft yacht and living aboard - right through the worst of Covid. Stayed at a number of places right up the east coast to Townsville over that time and many places were a hell of a lot cheaper - and nicer, than Sydney.

I spoke to a CRT member and they said that the Slough arm will close to boaters due to UK government cutting £300 M of funds for maintenance. And many boats are broken into on this part of the canal. And it doesn't lead anywhere. But the partway will be kept open. This was summer 2023.
The vessel you were on (Collaroy) was retired about 2 months ago after 35 years of service. 2 of her sisterships still operate, Queenscliff and Freshwater, while the other one, Narrabeen, is awaiting restoration.

I’ve just got a boat yesterday. I think it’s a BMC engine, it say Austin on it, I don’t have a lot of paperwork with the Boat. I will be leaving on it in less than three weeks. How do I know what size of engine I have? Are you on any other social media platforms? I would gladly pay to talk to you for any advice
What an absolute shame. You have the boat I am searching for (kind of question the headroom with me being 6'3") but the GRP looks ideal. It is a huge shame to see you give up. (BTW NEVER thought I would hear anyone EVER say they like London but ,er... nice lol). Am glad that you and Duncan are happy Londoners now. I was watching your earlier boater episodes but not subscribed. I am Terry in Tasmania and appreciated the episodes where you needed to return to Australia to care for your father. Your time off to show us around Sydney was enjoyable . I agree with you London is a great city, one of the best in the world - how you enjoy it depends on mental attitude ie: slow, and easy. Good on you for making this bold decision.
