My name is Arden and I love any type of car or anything to do with cars. This channel will be dedicated to anything I do with cars, whether its show you the mods I'm working on, my cars, projects, or maybe some car shows. Subscribe to see all of that!
I went with a Sony 5600 for head unit and Infinity reference speakers in all positions. The Sony is a single DIN body with a double DIN face. So no mid section dash trimming required. Slid right in.
I have a question? I see a lot of people speak about needing to splice into the pink wire that provides power to the amp that powers the tweeters, other wise they will not get any sound. I didn't see you install a crossover module, or need to splice any wires. Did the wiring harness you installed power the amp?
Nice upgrade, however I must say. This is a Bad Fire waiting to happen. I didn't see a Fuse for the main power wire, and No Grommet where you inserted it into the interior of the jeep. "Not hating Just wanting to point that out for anyone watching this and wanting to do their own".
lol glad I do my own work. You always take it to shops and they break something and don’t replace it and you don’t know about it till you have to replace something or when something moves that shouldn’t.
Shouldn’t you rerun the wire then? It is an audio shop no? It’s not mechanics job but if there’s a break in the wire it is probably in the rubber in the door jamb. Best thing is just run new wire through crimp new wire and go to the dash and pull the wire through. Might have to cut tape and zip ties in the door floor panel. Or just run it manually and cut old wire so not to confuse with new wire. But I do believe if the customer wants it’s audio shops job to fix that.
First off I’m not an audio shop. I was doing some audio stuff on the side (installing speakers, radios and subs). I don’t repair things if there’s already a known issue. When this guy came to pick up the truck I asked him if he knew some of the speakers didn’t work and he acknowledged that so I suggested he could bring it to me later to run new wires and I gave him a price for all that (yes expensive price because I don’t want to be responsible if that doesn’t fix the issue then I’m either chasing an issue that I don’t know or have an angry customer because he has to pay me for time and effort but didn’t fix the issue). Sure that may be the wrong way to go about it but I don’t have a shop with unlimited resources and time
Okay your set up looks like a shop is all. But I get it requiring and electrical diagnostic can cost a lot of money. I was just commenting because I thought you were running a legit shop not side job.
@@charles-ih7zp No. I did some audio stuff on the side at the window tint shop I use to work at. I don't do any more audio stuff because of stuff like that.
How do u fix gaps I did my 04 dodge ram 1500 I installed dvd/cd player in mine double din it's a pioneer I have a small gap on the right side of the radio
I can tell you what the speaker issue was. For some reason the rear left speaker is common to go out due to the harness in the rubber boot on the door. If you remove the boot, you will see where the wires to the speaker will have a break in them due the opening and closing of the door. I had the issue myself.
You were there already you had the truck right in front of you I would've just ran a new wire to the 2 speakers that were not working for the customer and tell him what you Did and most likely you'll have a return customer for life and if he tells one more person to I've worked on a your job well then that's all great.
Do you have factory hid with your headlights? I have the same issue and I want to replace them but I can’t find them anywhere. I would rather more modern pair instead of the oem. Lmk how this works out so I can try the same. Thx.
Hey guys I have a ga9463 in my Mazda 3. Yesterday my little sister was playing with the buttons and the system brought up recovery mode, however, the screen froze and I had to turn off the system. Now the system will not turn back on. If I disconnect my car battery and reconnect it do you think that will fix the issue? Also it still lights up around the buttons when I turn on my headlights so I know that it’s not the fuse
You seem like a good dude wanting to do well looking into things and such . Was the back left speaker already not working do you know and if not I’d check all components before you get started with customer so know blame falls your way because people can really ruin your pockets by taking you or any buddy who does this kinda work to court. 1. Do a run around with paint sure no scratches are noticeable if they are still do walk around with customer and video my friend people love to blame people working on car or their truck. 2. Check all door panels all around any dash part that might be loose or broken before you get going better safe than sorry. 3. Then one last walk around when customer picks the truck or car up once again better to be safe than sorry my friend nice job. Buddy why I say this not sure if you went over the back speaker with customer or not before you got going always good to know wha your getting into and it’s always good to have videos or written agreements I’m sure you do but it’s also nice having people watching your back. Good going with your business.
Appreciate the advice! Yes I called the customer after finding out the speaker did not work and he said he knew that. The customer was a close friend so he was understanding.
Go on Crutchfield and put in your truck info. Then find the radio you have or one of similar size (Single DIN or Double DIN). Click "See the installation gear you need" and it'll bring up any harness or dash kits you'll need

You have to have Canbus bulbs. Mine do the same thing if you turn the map lights on. The regular dome lights will turn off. Just haven't had the chance to change mine to some canbus bulbs
I have a question, does the DRL strip works without the light on? so is it on when you start the engine? because that beats the whole pupose of DRLs if not.
And this folks, is a true hack job. None of the steering wheel sound controls work now, do they? Cheap head unit, cheap speakers. Still running the low power stock amp which only sends bass to the front door speakers. Camera is total hack job. There is purple wire in A pillar pre wired for backup camera. Has to sound truly horrid.
1. Didn't have steering wheel controls to begin with. 2. Customer supplied al the stuff that was installed. Not my choice. Clearly you didn't hear the part where I said the customer installed those speakers and he just wanted me to check his connections. I didn't even install the speakers. 3. I did what I could with the camera that was provided. There's no such thing as a pre-wired backup camera in a 2005 truck where backup cameras were barely even a thing. 4. Like I said previously I didn't buy the radio or speakers or anything in this install. He bought what he wanted installed so I installed. Not my problem that he didn't want to spend the money for a good radio and good sound system
I have a 2010 Mazda 3, sedan unfortunately, but I still love the little shit. I was thinking about that 9 inch until I found this video. This unit looks much better in terms of overall look with the interior.
