I've watched all your Meshtastic centered videos, some of them multiple times, and they are all excellent. You provide answers and solutions. One note on using the Meshtastic Flasher. If you already have a second drive in your computer that you are flashing from, there is no apparent way to change the target drive from D: which is incorrect, to E: for example. Perhaps you have the ear of the programmers at Meshtastic and suggest a fix. Thanks for all your videos, and I always look forward to the next one.
Appreciate it! I'm glad my videos have been helpful! If you right click on "Download UF2" and select Save Link As, you can select whatever location you like.
Sorry to point it out but you really made a mess in this video. It only worked for me when I placed the home device in "Range Test" also and the CSV that matters is the one in fixed position!
I actually have two T-Beam V1.1's with SX1262's (and M8N GPS's) on them, which I had bought to test the Helium Network a while back. Later on, I found out that the SX1262 was not compatible with Helium. So I put those aside for future LoRa, etc. projects. Today I tried them with Meshtastic, and they work great :) Thank you for your videos.
Just picked up two of the t echos, one with the pressure sensor and one without. It sounds like that’s the only difference but I saw in thr details that one uses Arduino h511 and one uses h505. Is this just an irrelevant difference and they should both be able to communicate to each other correct?
I'm trying to follow along. I'm new to meshtastic. I have a lilygo T-Deck and a heltec v3, and I did a range test. I could even get a block away. I might have gotten about 200 feet apart in good weather line of sight. Both run on 18650 batteries, and both have the longer upgraded antennas. Both are set to long-fast. And both are on the same private channels. Any help on getting that long range I been hearing about.?
I set my second router up. Seems to go well but im getting an unauthorized error. I do have another admin channel set up for my other router. Any suggestions?
Could you please help me with this question? You DID go over range I know and I am sorry about asking a question that was technically covered in the video. I would like to ask a more direct question about range. What is the typical range you can expect in a realistic day-to-day scenario? I do realize that this is based on a lot of factors; I just would like a range of for example you could expect 10-15 miles with a basic setup or similar answer. Thanks for all of your hard work on these videos I am working my way through the advanced videos now! Thanks a bunch, my friend! Never mind, I finished the advanced playlist, and your video there was helpful! Thank you for all you have done for the community!
Most recent data shows that there is absolutely zero reasons to face solar panels upwards. In fact, data shows that not facing them upwards actually increases the life and output of solar panels It is also common sense if you understand what solar actually is. It has nothing to do with light, only radiation. Which is why on dark cloudy days you still have output. They do not work on light. So ignore the ignorant people who only parrot what someone else said that they believe to be an authority figure. None of them have a clue what they’re talking about or how anything works.
Good video, I have the great ICOM w32a as well the ft 857, I tested my TNC4& Yaesu pretty straight forward, so my question is: is there a way to keep the settings for each radio or once adjusted can be used with different radios( would like to use between the Yaesu and the ICOM)as plug and play? Thank you in advance
Curvature of the earth lol, so weird how we measure the earth and navigate it without the curvature. Even the scada line of sight tool doesn't account for earth curve. When I worked in teleco we never accounted for it with line of sight signals that should've had hundreds of feet of earth curve hill in the way.. again so weird.
I have no idea what im doing, but I love the idea of offgrid encrypted comms for my family. And to be able to track where they are for safety. All offgrid comms is amazing for shtf
I love your clear and thorough videos. I've learned a lot. I tried to install the Python CLI, and ran into a problem editing the Windows environment variable for path. I am running Windows 11, and it does not follow your video. When your video says to add a new path, Windows 11 doesn't give that option. It just shows the old path. I worked around this by adding a ; after the old path and pasting in the additional one copied as in the video. that worked. I also ran into issues as there is a newer version of Python in the Store, but when I installed it, it failed to install the Meshtastic CLI, so I had to go back to the version in this video.
In summer, doesn't it get too hot inside the case for a lithium battery? These usually operate up to 60ºC (140ºF). Thanks for all your videos, awesome info!
Angle is everything on these little panels. I imagine angling the panel about 45 degrees up and towards south would give more than 50 % better performance. It's really great that these are able to charge while not being angled properly at all.
Hey there, thanks for your great video which helped me perform some range tests. I have now created an online tool that allows you to upload your rangetest file directly and will show all of the points on the map directly without ever sending to Google - the data is also not stored: rangetest DOT meshstation DOT org. Hope this helps!
Less than 2 minutes into the video and already got the info I was hoping to find. Being able to set "Friendly" names for devices so I don't have to know who's texting from a random string of numbers and letter, lol. Skilling up on knowledge before I buy a few devices to set up my own network. Your channel has been incredibly helpful!
Are you from TN? I would be interested of learning more about your ham radio setup and how to use my ham radio more efficient during emergency. I also would like to learn more about storm chasing which I’m becoming very interested in .
It's not available anymore but it's a ANYSECU W2 Plus Network Radio N60. It's basically an android device with a PTT mic. I use it for Zello and Echolink. Android itself is a bit slow on it, but it's fine to run those apps There is a newer version but I'm not sure how much better it is.
