Friday Night Arcade® is an ongoing series focused on classic video games as well as classic gaming and computer hardware with new episodes every Tuesday and Friday. Videos on the main channel consist of retro gaming documentaries with a focus on Atari, NES, SNES, Master System, Genesis, 32X, TG16, Neo Geo and more. I try to mix relevant facts with personal stories about these games and encourage viewers to share their stories as well in the comments.

Im 8 years old and my mom says im dropping you off at jerrys house to play while she goes to work. I had no idea who jerry was. Turns out my mom met his mom at parents night when she signed me up for Catholic school. So after keeting my new bestie which was beyond weird, he sits me down on the rug and says wanna play russian attack....i thought it was army men or something. But nope he pulls out the NES and puts the game on....id heard of but never played or even saw the Nintendo system so i pictured it like jesus shined a light on it for the reveal. Well long story short it was my first nes game i played and i made a new friend and boy scout buddy. Then i got the happy ending of playing super mario bros., but i got the honor of luigi lol.... craziest thing was i remember begging mom at pickup please ten more minutes please....a week later for my bday my Nintendo was waiting with zelda, rygar, and kid icarus. Thanks mom best day i ever could remember
Don't forget, before Jungle Hunt, there was Jungle King. Same game, but used Tarzan, complete with the yell. It became Jungle Hunt with all the changes due to the lawsuit from Edgar Rice Burroughs' estate.
I loved this game, the atmosphere was palpable - especially when you ran through an area and those alien dogs grouped together chasing you! The boss fights had me on my nerves edge too 😂😂
I once made the whole game without getting a single pounch on me and took down all the opponents in the first round. Except Mike Tyson. He got down in the second round. I believe that`s the biggest accomplish for my life 😂 Almost a perfect game play 💃💃💃
Geez man shadowgate was easy as pie compared to uninvited. I have so much trouble playing this game I had to use a walkthrough for part of it . I had an issue of Nintendo Power covering the totality of shadowgate and it hasn't ruined the game for me.
I would to have this snes controller for snes games for retro pie emulator including the duck hunt gun for shooting n the Sega gun as well n super scope for snes shooting games
I like it when your Hunger meter goes down all the time, just like in Chrono Trigger or Final Fastasy 3 on SNES. I love that mechanic so that if you just put the controller down, you die. Doesn't everyone like to just die when you weren't expecting it. Like, they should also put in a masturbation mechanic too so that you have to jerk off every once and in while too.
@FridayNightArcade I really must come to this channel more often... I did play all three games, They were WAY TO HARD for me... LOL! But that said, They are Brilliant games!
I know. Don't shoot the messenger - I'm not affiliated with them. Just a guy on RU-vid. This happens a lot with these Kickstarters though. I think they get into it and then it ends up being more work than expected, plus they still have their regular day jobs. It's unfortunate, but I do trust that it will get released and will be awesome when it comes out.
I played the EGA (16 colour) disk version of this as a kid. Unfortunately they just dithered the hell out of the VGA version. It doesnt look like the old EGA Sierra games at all and is pretty much a mess (similar to the Amiga version).
You put together such an apropos video and narration for what was essentially my experience. Great work and thank you. Subscribed and Notified One thing about this game is the hitting a wall with the puzzles , and at the time being 8-10, I can’t remember if I ever beat it!! It’s taken me till this week to find the right search terms for Shadowgate because my only memory was the wizard room and I knew I wasn’t imagining it!! 30 years this game eluded me and NES door game was the term that finally led me there. 😊 I thought, was this on another console? I know I didn’t own it, it must have been at one of my babysitters back in the day lol. Anyway, seeing the playthrough and binging these last few days have been great but especially having the pictorials of the rooms light a fire in my memory has been a true blessing. :) The music slaps. Be well and love in love friend
I wonder if the characters in the Terminator game with the 10 year old John Connor and Linda Hamilton, and offcourse Schwartzenegger were the orginal actors also in this game. Or are it all stand-in's?
Oh man, I love this game. Remember sitting down for the first time as a 10 yr old and turning it on for the first time. Played all day. By that evening, I had conquered the game. One of my favorite NES memories.
@@FridayNightArcade don't worry, I'm not much better. I just fixed an NES advantage and had to re-solder 3 wires that I broke while doing the same thing. I taped the joyboard to the backside of the board after that.
This shouldn't be too big for the NES. Memory is way cheaper today, and maybe some of the graphics just need a little adjustment. All the sounds and animations in the game you could hear and see in this video could definitely be played by an NES. I think it's juse about doing the job. But I'd definitely buy a real NES cassette with this!
