I saw this movie in the theater with my parents when it came out in 1973 and I absolutely fell in love with it. I rented it years later for my kids to see and they loved it as well. Fantastic movie with beautiful songs.
Yes, certainly dream of such a paradise where there's absolutely NO wars, NO pain/suffering, NO anger/hate/violence. Unfortunately, it is not found on earth. Have always loved this theme song since the show aired many decades ago.
😢I remember watching this ,I was 15 and cried over David as Shades of grey played,I was at my deceased half sis home for dinner.I cried Sis I'm not Hungary David's really heartbroken My beloved half sis Janet Hall passed away Nov 12th 1984 at 37 years old,I miss David Thomas Jones very very much ,Jan knew I really loved David❤😢😢
The first time I saw this film was in 1977 at the cinema. It marked me deeply. Firstly, for the cast and the soundtrack. This song is an anthem for peace in the world. Where somewhere in the Himalayas, peace, serenity, kindness lives!
Here is my favorite clip from that movie! Love Tony Curtis and ADORE Natalie....but, I loathe the movie. Anyway, Thank You for posting this delicious clip!
This episode always makes me go home for Christmas 🎄 which is now ONLY in my dreams. Still feel that Designing Women gives me a warm feeling of what Christmas is really about. . .Love! Great show and cast 👏 Suzanne became my soul mate with her speech as CLASS Reunion and when she traded her Mercedes for two BIG old Cadillacs! Dixie s HOW GREAT THOU ART will be played at my funeral. Killing All the RIGHT people was a high spot!🏳️🌈 . So sad the network killed this fantastic show! 🏆
I remember seeing this video segment on "The Monkees" show when it first appeared on the episode of Davy's relative wanting him to go back to England with him. It was quite touching to view to go along with this VERY memorable Monkees song that was one of their best ever and should have been a single.
I think the first time I saw "Success Story", this song was featured in this scene. It's only my opinion, but I think this one fits the scene better than "I Wanna Be Free". One of my all time Monkee favorites.
"Seasons Greetings Oscar boy Your alimony's due If you don't pay up right away I'll get the cops on you And you'll spend Christmas In the clink With others bums like you"
One of the best versions of this song and maybe the best of the more comedic takes on this song. And her version is better than those by some of the biggest stars from the West End and Broadway.
I haven't watched the newer version, only the 1937 original with Ronald Colman. It has been damaged by time, so the video freezes while the audio continues. It's one of my favorites on TCM.
This movie I saw as a young child and has stuck with me all these years. Despite being a box office failure at the time, I still consider it one of my all time fave movie musicals with brilliant songs that represented the story and are still relevant today. I don't think there are many on this planet right now that wouldn't give their right arm and leg to escape to Shangri-la. RIP Burt, you gave us all such wonderful memories. ❤
