That was a HUGE win for the program in the dawn of the Fran brown era... to win, it looks like a new day for SU football but a loss would've just looked like the same old SU... we're just gonna have to "out-offense" every team this year to win because the defense and ST are abysmal and offensive to dumpster fires everywhere... we finally have some "guys", great win let's keep it rolling
UNLV's defense is no joke. Williams is a very good running and passing QB. Sluka was not very accurate....williams has been practicing with these WR since spring camp....he has a familiarity with the WR. The team is galvanized around williams.. UNLV contarary to national beliefs aren't worried about the sluka ordeal. UNLV I believe will dominate the line of scrimage and their ability to stop the run will show through...also their LB and Safety play against the pass is top notch intercepting 9 passes..(4 by 1 player), 13 sacks also. woodard and catalon are top notch defensive players. Coach gets it. When he says things like "that doesnt happen here. We make sure guys get whats promised" or " hey young guys out there if you come here and know your play book you are gonna get a chance to play and our QB is gonna get you the ball". Hes talking to the kids on there level. Hey guys you wanna play agaisnt good teams on national TV prime time games eyes from the whole nation on you come here and shine. Or you can go somewhere else that maybe has a bigger symbol on there helmet (according to some) and ride the bench till you are a 4th or 5th yr kid realizing you are not gonna play w the 5 star kids coming in getting promised playing time. Why not go where you are gonna play.
@cusesportstalk To me it's not just the he's cool or speaks the lingo. Guys like Hugh Feeze and Bobby Petrino did that well. It's more the honesty. He's not gonna lie to a kid. He's not gonna let a kid get lied to by a staff member or NIL representative. Everything is up front it's genuine.
Coach Browns delivery of information is somewhat unique and even kind of one dimensional with very little specifics mostly glib coach like generalities. We all want him and the team to succeed and we have to remember this is all new to him and his staff. 7:26 PM 2-1-24

Student athletes, schools, and the NCAA need to remember one thing- Their product is worthless without fans. Some of the changes they're making are going to negatively impact fan investment in college football. It's an entertainment product. They need to be sure that trying to get a short term profit isn't going to damage the bigger picture. Right now they're doing a poor job of that.
Here is the issue guys, the four athletic programs that joined the PAC Conference are winners and none of the top four conferences want to play them, for the simple fact they can come up with an “L”. This can spark interest from their recruiting hotbeds, by sparking interest because it is a new landscape.

@@johnkim163 yes, Michael Allen. His leaving has nothing to do with NIL or Sluka. He tweeted about that specifically, stating that his reason is playing time and has nothing to do with NIL. UNLV running backs are deep and he wasn't getting the ball as much as he wanted.
Committed to UNLV in January 2024, Jan 19, 24 signs with equity sports as agent....3 weeks into season and 8 months after getting agent / commiting and still doesn't have his money? Not adding up.

I think the PAC's next move has to be on getting into Texas. Get back on the phone with UTSA and offer a better deal. Bring in Texas State too for a good rivalry. Texas makes the most sense geographically, and also bolsters your status as potentially the best P5 conference. Could go after Rice over Texas State to apply even more pressure on Tulane, Memphis, and USF to join as well
Fran brown is built for this NIL era relationships with players are going to be more important than ever and he has an ability to connect with kids that is clear he doesn’t have to promise insane nil funds he makes up for it with connection
This is exactly the mentality people hate. “Why not just pay?” is what short sighted dum dums believe. This QB quit on his team because his shakedown didn’t work. This loser should be shamed wherever he goes.
