Great video! I've never seen anything quite that close up. I guess it's a safe assumption that the buildings didn't fare to well after Hurricane Irene. The last time I was down that way was in 2003 when you could still drive down Great Bay Blvd. and cross over those sketchy wooden bridges. I remember at the time that the largest building was still standing. The water tower is still up, really rusted but still standing. Very cool to see it up that close. Thanks for posting it!
You can still drive down to the end of Great Bay and over the wooden bridges. There’s a Rutgers Marine Station down at the end and lots of crabbing and fishing and boat launching.
I guess less of an impact but the deceleration was still crazy. I nearly flew over the front and got ran over. I had a massive bruise on my thigh afterwards.
Great footage! I plan to take a boat out to Crab Island and check the place out sometime. It seems like trying to land that drone is like landing a fighter jet on an aircraft carrier.
It's a cool place. The flies are extremely bad there. You pretty much need a bee suit in the summer. Landing in the back was a bit tight. Especially since that's a $1,600 drone.
great shots, always love seeing neat drone footage. Maybe the next video you put up can have some simple music put in there instead of having to mute the video because of noisy propellers. great work though, i plan on buying a mavic pro drone around christmas time.
Thanks! Mavic looks awesome. I could've edited it shorter. Most people don't like videos longer than about 4 minutes. I decided to post the entire thing raw though because the location is so cool. The problem with music is whenever I use something I like it's always copy write protected. I feel like that ruined RU-vid.
I've been hearing good things about the maverick, and that's a lot of aircraft! I've been flying for quite sometime now been taking lessons on a Cessna 172
Paul, We have been admiring you boat, as well as the vid. A bit of good natured debate on what make and year the boat is. Please clear up the mystery. Make model and year of you boat please?
Very cool. We sail by here all the time. A very interesting and fresh view. Can you tell me a little about your drone and cameria equipment. This would be great for filming fisherman on big charter trips.
Nice Vid, Paul... I have the same boat, and I am about to install the same kit. Unfortunately, I didn't order the kit as a unit, rather I order a few pieces at a time. (duh). Anyway, I saw you said you put the stock exhaust back together/on. The instructions mention having to cut something, in order to fit the "free-flow" kit. Did you re-order a new part from Yamaha to restore your old exhaust, or did you just use a coupler to reconnect it? Also, was there some "restrictive" filter in the old setup, that the new one eliminates? One more question: The Power Filter Kit... Is there any chance (in your opinion) of water getting into the air intake, if the boat flips over?? I know the pre-filter is suppose to guard against that, under normal conditions, but I don't know if they consider "flipping over", normal conditions... Thanks Bro!
+Dane Walker I had to order a new coupler to restore the stock exhaust. The restrictive filter is in the intake manifold. I wouldn't worry about water getting in the intake. The free flow exhaust did make the fuel economy go up but it's loud and annoying when you're just cruising around with a girl on the back. For racing it wouldn't be bad. At top speed all you hear is wind anyway.
+Paul Petrone Thanks Paul... Like you, I certainly don't need extra noise. Fuel economy is never bad, but not at the expense of ride quality/ enjoyment. I'll start with the other pieces and see how it goes. Thanks again, Bro. See you on the water.
I just wanted an intake grate that didn't load up with seaweed and I ended up buying the whole kit. I took the exhaust off though because all it did was make noise. This video is stock exhaust. I actually gained 1mph with the stock exhaust..
+bob frank I have the 2014 FX SVHO and was thinking to get the ribbon removal and a better air intake perhaps. How involved is the ribbon removal? I was thinking to go with R&D or Riva intake ribbon removal adapters. Where did you get the remap, and is that to the stock ecu?
Ribbin removal is easy just make sure you use a torque wrench on the bolts I got my ribbin removale of ebay And i got the remap from crisp ecu in australia
+bob frank Thank you. I checked the Crisp ECU Australia site and it appears to be truck and auto related. Are you in the USA or Australia? And is your PWC a U.S. model? Do you happen to have a URL for the site?
Nice ride... Literately Ride Yamaha svho some hardcore machine right there ... 0 to 30 in 1.5 sec. With the nano excel hull 2 love the power the way it takes of very nice... And at the end has a good finish enjoy...
Bravo sir!!! Excellent flying. Down the pipes was pretty cool. What a neat place and what a fun adventure. Keep em coming! That thing is so damn stable, and it looks like a 3 axis gimbal, right? Super smooth footy.
