The video id not that clear. Did Marichal hit a home run with Roseboro's head or did he 'slice' 'it' 'foul'? Great, entertaining and civilized game this baseball. I have to take some batting practice on people that irritate me.
They played “I Can’t Win” by The Strokes over the stat about him not being able to beat the Titans. I’m not sure how it got unlisted but I originally posted this in The Strokes subreddit lol.
This song is one of my favorites (coming from a Dodgers fan). Whenever I heard this jingle, I knew that my Grandpa was about to watch Giants baseball. It will be the first Opening Day without him this year. RIP Vapa 4/21/1935-9/13/2022🙏🏼
Haha though I'm not from SF, I definitely remember Andres Torres. Those Giants WS teams make up the most random dynasty ever with the aces being different each year but Bochey used his bullpen masterfully and the bats magically became clutch in the postseason.
I was there. Koufax wouldn't throw brush-back pitches, so Roseboro showed him how to do it by throwing right past Marichal's ear. I don't remember what happened to Marichal's at-bat after he got ejected. I think they just moved on to the lead-off hitter and then #2, both of whom walked. #3 was Mays, and he homered. The packed stadium went from complete shock to total elation in about twenty minutes. Marichal missed two weeks, and the Giants were never the same for the rest of the season (five weeks). The fight unfolded very fast. I was watching Koufax catch the ball from Rosboro, and then I heard the roar before I looked back at the chaos erupting at the plate, players from both teams sprinting in from all directions, etc.
Keep him out does not erase the facts. He was fun to watch and we choose to live in a world of blindness. The media will do this to anyone just for ratings. Barry bonds, tiger woods, Marion jones, Ben Johnson and so many other who’s lives are scared because the media thinks they have the power to say what they want without repercussions.
You know, as someone from the UK I don't really feel that much for baseball. It's not our national sport nor is it in our top 10 of sports. However, I have watched on RU-vid many times when a pitcher smashes a ball into the hitter. Showing my ignorance as it's probably not the technical term. The ball is the pitcher's tool. It's a hard ball thrown at extraordinary speeds. Why should the guy with the bat not use his tool? Just saying...
Not saying that drilling the hitter is right, but generally the pitcher has the control to hit the batter in the ass or the back. A hitter running out to the mound in a rage swinging a solid wood bat wildly at someone’s head can easily kill them or cause permanent brain damage.
@shaun5344 It's a matter of Physics. A batter wearing a helmet gets hit on same helmet with a 100 mph pitch, survives. The same batter gets hit in the helmet with a bat moving 100 mph is dead.
@@peterp2153A ball thrown anywhere at a batter has the potential to do serious damage regardless of point of impact. And if pitchers’ control is so great they can hit a batter where ever they want then why are there unintentional walks? The truth is, the pitcher has a pretty good idea where to throw the ball but rarely has exact control. Just ask the 1967 Boston Red Sox star Tony Conigliaro of the dangers of being hit with an errant pitch (I do not know if he was intentionally thrown at or not) when he was struck in the right eye with a fastball while at bat, an event that ended his stellar career. It sickens me a little that you are making some kind of rationalization of why it’s okay to perhaps throw at a batter. Saying that a batter has a bat and attacking the pitcher is different in some way is no excuse for a pitcher to EVER throw at a batter. Period!
it sucks this was never on spotify or something. not a lot of his music is on spotify, which is terrible, especially since it probably won't ever get put on spotify or any music service.
