Welcome to a channel dedicated to creative adventures, journal and planner fun, and random rambling. Grab whatever you got and get creative alongside me. No special or fancy materials required.
I have collected this series of books and love them. A good use of the books: sharing with others. The boys in the family like the creepy and crawly stickers. Lots of flowers, I use for cards. Excellent for alphabet glue books. You can even reuse book as an alpha glu book. When stickers are used washi tape edges of the slick pgs together and use decorative printed pages as backgrounds.
Love your journal aesthetic. I was searching Pocket Journal Pam, thinking I haven’t seen a video from her in awhile, and your video came up instead. So you now have a new subscriber because I am big fan of her. Do you know what has happened to our lovely Pam? Instagram, RU-vid and Patreon seems to all be deleted :(. Anyway, I am enjoying binging your videos while I work in my hobonichi with my Pocketjournal Pam printables.
Very nice journalling you made. Looks like mine hobonichi a6.Liked it very much. Hope your doing well with therapy for your fear of something. Big hugh for that. Greetings from a rainy Holland. 😍🌺🌸
Love this ! Don’t know how I missed it … yes I have some of those crayon paint sticks also… wondering with the stencil if you could use them with a cotton swab? Never tried it… but they are great for travel as no mess ! Always love your videos and can’t wait to see the dream journal!
Thanks so much, Allison! (Can't recall of we spell the same lol). I am still working on the dream journal, I need to put the finishing touches on!! A cotton swab is a great idea. Sending you all the good vibes!
Hi, Miss A! The YT algorithm has not shown me your videos lately (frustrating). Your warm weather came from the west coast (since I recall you are from California) and we are now enjoying the more customary Eastern US area weather (delightfully chilly and rainy - what? yes, more please! ). The weirdo jet stream bounced around the usuals and the big systems traded spaces. I am NOT complaining, I love real autumn weather and California needs rain/snow in the worst way. I really enjoy Halloween. My daughter and I did watch parties all month (she lives in Sacramento or a few hours distant) doing spooky movies and we both really enjoyed that. I hope you enjoy a lovely day and thank you for sharing with lucky us!
Thank you so much, Linda!! You can definitely send us some more of that warm weather - I'll take it. Lol! Those sound like fun Halloween activities! Thanks so much for your comment and support! I am the lucky one!!
Thank you so much! I agree with no such thing as too much, however sometimes I do envy the minimalist journals....then my pages turn out like they turn out and I laugh! Thanks for being here.
In Norway they didn't have Halloween when I was a kid. At least not in the small town I grew up. Now they have more of it. But I've never been to a halloween party. When I was a kid the school had carnival party at school for the kids. But I feel it little bit different than Halloween. Love your video 🥰 I like my coffee with milk 😊 Latte is my fav 😄
Lattes are so good!!! I especially like oat milk lately. That is so interesting that Halloween is becoming more of a thing. Thanks for your comment and for being here!!
I’m like you. Halloween is fun and all but I don’t get terribly excited about it like others and I certainly don’t dress up for it. But my nephew always has some great costumes. Last time he went he was a claw machine and the year before that a post box. I don’t know how his Mom makes them but people are always in awe of his costumes. I’m glad the nail shop still had your phone and it wasn’t actually lost! The wee pup is so cute. Great session, Dear!
A claw machine and a post box?! That is amazing. My favorite costume ever was when I went as a fork in the road. Lol. I cannot resist a good pun. Thanks for the comment and all your support and inspiration!!
Great page and I do the same thing in my sticker piles:) Yes, on overspending in Costco, argh on lost phone... Lovely touches with the water color and stars. Yes, love how journal pages come together over time! Jill
Thank you for the nice chat ❤ in this period I feel really creative and I’m having so much fun playing with watercolors in my journals! Where I live (Italy) we don’t celebrate Halloween <.< around the city there are maybe some parties but it’s an excuse like another just to party, not really celebrating it if you know what I mean 🙄 most of the people that partecipate do not even get dressed properly, maybe just some random fake blood and vampire teeth..
I am so inspired by your a6 flip thrus. It's one of the reasons that I've decided to try using the Hobo a6 for a planner in 2023 instead of the weeks. I love the big space to decorate and record the day's events much like yours. I still love the weeks for bullet journalling, keeping track of trackers, house maintenance, personal details etc. Look forward to your videos and my heart skips a beat when I see you have a new one to watch. Thank you for all you do.
Thank is so kind, Robin! I really appreciate it. I think you will love the a6. The weeks is definitely functional, but daily creative real estate is joy! Very glad you are here!!!
Love your journal. I have a question. Do you put color down and then journal over the top, or do you journal and then color over the top? It seems like it works out so well. I tend to struggle to decorate and then write. When I do, it tends to be a lot of words together and then a lot of decor together. Yours are spaced out well.
Hello Selina! Thanks for your comment. I tend to do a mix of decor and writing and back and forth. My order tends to be determined by what I think is most important. More often then not though, my process is pictures/images first, writing, and then colorful addition to fill everything in. I'd love to hear if that helps! Thanks for being here!
I really love your channel! You bring so much positive energy I can feel it through the screen, your love for creativity & all art & journal things is awesome & inspiring! ❤
Hi Jessica! She is not a big shop, but I highly recommend. If you DM me on IG, I can send you her info directly - but she is Cristinasleather on IG and FB and it is all planned via dms! I hope this helps!!
I always repurpose my unused covers to house notebooks. Though A6 is hard to come by here in Denmark. So all those unused Hobonichi originals I collected (autistic collector) can be housed in there and I do not care about the dates either. This year, I did not buy as many planners. I am interested in the English A5 this year, but i usually just like the Day Free versions. I am also a Doctor Who Fan, along with Star Wars and Winnie-the-Pooh. Now I seem to be going into Japanese animae films. Started with Kikki’s Delivery Service
I love your side by side of an unused cousin and one after life happens. As someone who oftentimes says “i never do anything” um yea! Look at your cousin! (If you’ve kept up, but even if havent, there’s still some good stuff in there!)
Loved this video! So happy to hear you talk about your "failures" in such a non condemning way. We all have them! I am thinking about switching to A6 for daily pages also next year. Also, what was the name of the leather shop where you got your covers? I am having trouble finding it.
Thank you so much! I selfishly really want you to switch to an A6 so I can be inspired by how you use the smaller space! I will send you her link on ig!
Fail fail fail me too. I bought a A6 and didn’t like it. But I love my weeks and cousins. I tried rings years ago and did not even stick to it . My memory journals are going to my granddaughter one day hopefully 30 years.
I also love Hobonichi, but it doesn’t work for me. The Cousin is too big and the A6 doesn’t have the weekly spread. You made me feel better about my failure stash. I’m trying Sterling Ink’s planner for 2023. I can’t let go of Hobonichi completely, so I’ll get the regular Weeks and use it for my Health journal.
I totally relate...and I am doing the Sterling Ink too...i am excited and hope it will serve the purpose I wanted for my personal cousin last year. I am super excited for it! That's the end of my plans though for 2023...lol. Thanks for being here!
This was such a lovely and insightful video Allison! I wholeheartedly agree that we are worth it. Yes I also feel a little bad when I abandon a journal or a sketchbook, but if it ultimately leads to us finding a product that helps us document and celebrate our lives, I think it’s worth it. My hubby always says that you can’t make an omelette without breaking a few eggs 😉
I bought my first hobonichi from someone who didn't use the second part of the cousin avec. It was a 2019 and i bought him in 2022. I was sooo happy with it. It was cheap, good enough of trying out. So when you don't use your blank hobonichi, maybe you could sell it to someone. Good for the envoirment and you make someone happy to try out one. Thanks for your lovely video. Liked it. 🥰😍
Hiii! It's so wierd that we feel guilty we bought something and didn't use it to its full potential..but we really shouldn't I guess..even if we had fun with it for a little while..that's worth it..your worth it. (I liked that part) I use a blank hobonichi A6, Jan till June is in one blank notebook and this is my second half of the year in a second one..before this i tried an 5 but it's to big to keep up with!!but with the blank one..If I need to write more I use 2 pages for the day instead of one..works great for me..also I type down everything I did in a day, in an app called day One and write it down in my book whenever I feel like it..no pressure..now I'm a month behind..but I know I'll feel like journaling soon..and that my storys are stored in the app ..
I was talking with my mom the other day about her grandma. Grandma passed away when Mom was just a little girl (she's 78 now) so she has very little memory of being with her grandma, other than being in Grandma's garden and her giving Mom a rose from her bush. And other than just a few vague memories, we know nothing about that set of grandparents. How did they end up living where they did, what did they do in their spare time, what jobs did they hold, etc? My mom is also a journaler with me, and we agreed that it's good to write down even the mundane of our lives for future generations to know who we were and what we did and thought about things. (Mom is currently in a memoir writing class!) So looking at your artwork and journals, and to-lists, and "fails", I see where your descendants will really know you. 78 years from now, a granddaughter and great granddaughter will have a fabulous glimpse into your life, as well as the time in which we currently live. So thank you for sharing this with us, but also thank you for recording your life for your future offspring! It will certainly be a treasure for them. 💕
