I was late to school so many times and got called into the principal's office to explain why. Principal, I had to finish watching the GRAND PRIZE GAME!
My favorite part of the Bozo show. I always remember how smug they were on bucket 1-3, but then it starts going off the rails around bucket 4, it gets real.
I grew up watching this show all the time. But this is the first time I saw that the cake they had was from my local bakery. Wow. Anyone who grew up on the northwest side or west side knows about Roesar's Birthday. Especially if you grew up in the 70s, 80s, or 90s. They have been there for 100 years. Anyway I always wanted to go to the Bozo show as a kid. But the Wizzo creeped me out. I was afraid of him for some reason.
There is no way that Joseph Jones from Baton Rouge Louisianna was a real winner. I am positive that there are many Joseph Jones' in Baton Rouge but I mean, it might have well been John Smith in Walla Walla Washington.
The cadence of saying "Grand-Prize-Game" triggered a core memory like I was a sleeper cell. Also, damn those are great prizes. That wagon was the real deal.
Went to the Bozo show 1975. It was as then i learned that it wasn’t a big circus. The whole set wasn’t much bigger than school classroom. Couple hundred people jammed onto a small bleacher and the stage a little bigger our living room. I never watched bozo with the same awe of a child after that day.
I remember people getting over confident on the first 3 buckets... and losing.. There were no other channels on TV to watch besides this in the morning! ;)
I'm 56 and watched the original Bozo 50 yrs ago. Was a big fan. My two older brothers ripped the head off my Bozo the clown doll in a tug-o-war. I've never forgiven them. lol.....
I use to play this in my local mall in the early 90s I always thought bozo was weird. This is the only part of the show I remember. What else was this show about.
