I am re-watching S1. At first I thought Aziraphale was flirting with Crowley, and in S2 was Crowley to Aziraphale, but now I think that Crowley was the one who was flirting all the time. Aziraphale also, of course, but being cute and naive is part of who he is. However, for Crowley is so different and cute.
Dang, so...this has some big implications that I didn't think about: so Crowley says, "Unforgivable: that's what I am," and the very next time they see each other, Aziraphale tells him, "I forgive you," very sincerely and softly, like he's trying to tell him, _You're not unforgivable. You're not unlovable. Even if Heaven doesn't see that, I do._ "I forgive you" is Aziraphale's "I love you." So when Crowley kisses him at the end of season two, and Aziraphale pulls away, overwhelmed, and the first words out of his mouth are, "I forgive you..." I had always thought that that was an odd choice of words. The scene where we get flashbacks to his conversation with the Metatron seems very chopped up, and some people have speculated that we're missing something: that Aziraphale knows something we don't, and he's scared; feels like they _need_ to say yes to his offer. Everyone keeps saying how he looks out the window as if to indicate to Crowley that _You need to shut up and stop saying these things while he's watching us._ It *would* make it make a lot more sense why he keeps saying such stupid things about Heaven being the good guys when we all felt like he surely should have known better by this point. He's acting for the Metatron, and pleading with Crowley, hoping that he'll catch on and play along, too. I'm not sure if/when Crowley catches on, but by the time he's saying, "Do you hear that...? That's the point: no nightingales," it very much seems to be a message of his own, and if you watch Azira's face, there's a series of little shifts of expression like he's figuring out what Crowley means. So perhaps Crowley's saying, _No, really, I _*_do_*_ understand what you're offering me, but trust me: I need to go off on my own, and you need to pretend like you're hurt and go off with him, and together we'll secretly take this whole thing down. You work to sabotage Heaven from the Inside, and I'll be doing things on my end while he thinks I'm busy sulking over our "break-up." He'll think he's got you, but you need to stay two steps ahead of him. _*_We_*_ need to stay two steps ahead of him._ My personal head-cannon is that, once they both realized what the other was saying, and got on the same page, Aziraphale expected Crowley to leave (though was likely extremely disappointed, and reluctant to let him go), but Crowley thought, _No: it's going to be a while before I see my Angel again. I only just got to confess my love for him, and now already we have to part. I just can't resist,_ and surprised him with that kiss. Azi does seem very caught off guard, whether it's by the kiss itself, or just how strongly he himself responds to it. By the time Crowley's pulling away, it's clear that he almost can't bear everything he feels. He stutters, nearly giving away his true feelings: an "I love you" on the tip of his tongue. Instead, because the Metatron is watching, he simply tells him, "...I forgive you," and hopes that he knows what that really means.
The last few seconds, when Az is lacking of words and mumbling, trying so hard to find the right words, he first says "I lo..." before he interrupts and says "I forgive you" instead....😢 People, he practically almost said "I love you" 😭😭😭🥺🥺🥺 My heart💔💔💔

I love the intro and I'm also crying my soul out, so I guess we're all in this together? Not very soothing.. But it's okay, it's just 2 years of waiting..😭😭

I’m kinda sad they made them gay. I felt it’s a better story that some friendships last forever no matter how different you are, like Naruto and Sasuke. And they already had a woman couple. But still a good show.
Older comment, but I kind of get you but I also think that there are many stories about friendship already, and we can have a bit of this too. Their story doesn't have to be sexual either (even if it's romantic). It's not right now and I would prefer it not to be anyway
That look Crowley gives after the kiss. Yes he has the glasses but you know he's just so vulnerable and full of hope that Azi will come with him. I'm not crying. You are!
I was only able to watch season 2 yesterday, and it broke my wee heart! 😢😢😢 Crowley has given him sooo many chances to run away from the shackles of heaven and hell, and be together, and poor old Azirafel (sorry...forgotten the spelling) is just sooo torn between his duties and his love for Crowley. It was revealed at the very end, that Azilafel will be expected to play his part in the 2nd coming..... obviously he won't want that, so i see the two of them getting back together pretty soon.
Aziraphale wants to save more than just himself and Crowley; he loves all life and wants to preserve it. He also knows that running away won't solve anything, won't make them safe, and anywhere they go will be destroyed along with the rest of creation. While it's understandable that that's Crowley's kneejerk response to trouble, he is naive to think they'd be left alone, especially after they found out how powerful their miracles are together.

"After all this time?" "Always" I didn't get over this season and will not until we get another one .. Got that ending makes me cry and doesn't matter how many times I watch it 😢😢
I just finished season two. Damn all of you who recommended this show to OFMD fans. Just what I needed, another wonderful bit of queer media that made me feel way too many things! Fuck! Can’t wait for season 3!
You can’t make me believe that God doesn’t have a soft spot for Crowley. Especially after he showed Jesus the kingdoms of the world. I’m not religious and idk what that entails but Crowley must have hung out with him a fair bit.
Michael and David acted the hell out of this scene, all the little details made my heart broke into a million pieces, liked it actually hurt when I was watching this
Fan fact about me. Before I saw the series, I had seen some spoilers, but I thought that Crowley was at first a demon, and then he kissed Aziraphale, and then God made Crowley an angel and they lived together. That made the ending three times worse.
