As you said: "In your country." Well, Rapa Nui isn't your home! What you should've done was speak about the beauty and positive things about my Polynesian cousins. Well, what else can you offer besides complaining. You should keep your colonial self and mindset where it belongs. Britain!!!
Very good best vid I've seen of Rapanui have studied it since way back knew all those whole island never been there am 70 now nice filming airial shots Kia ora thanks
I got plenty of comments, why the hell are you putting your family through this! If you are serious about the situation why the hell don't you go back home? (or somewhere else)? Certainly you did your homework before you dragged your family over there didn't you? You are pretty unbelievable. Stop complaining and buck up. Your are a man not a complaining child. I think.
The gentlemen are happy to be on Rapa Nui. There is a lot to be excited for, superb traditional dancing, the people seem charming, and the legends and folklore must be fascinating, and the spirituality. Why, with all this, are they not planting forests? The present landscape, let us say, is "a little" bare, and frankly, kind of distressing
You cannot take off a drone near the airport such as Rano Kau crater. The restricted zone covers almost the whole village, and beyond that, the national park is also a no-fly area. Only a limited area is free for flying without risking a fine
My dream place to come to; Hoi Mark if it wasn`t for you I may have never known how amazing Estr Island is thank you, so much be kind to your self from Adam.
I wonder... If those statues represent the ancestors, does it mean those are statues of dead family members, like grandfathers, grand-grand-fathers, and so on... Or are those just statues symbolizing a generic ancestor? Because to me it looks like the statues are mostly completely featureless and generic. Maybe it's because the people who made them were no artists or professional sculptors, but it looks like those statues are made to look stylized and not really portraying real people, at least not accurately. Which is kind of weird, if they are meant to be the ancestors. Cause ancestors are not mythological figures. And they are not strangers nobody saw.
IM FROM NY, ... AND TO BE HONEST WOULD LOVE A SLOWER PACED LIFE... BUT SOME OF THOSE THINGS WOULD MAKE ME GO POSTAL.... LOVE THE VIDEOS ... I HAVE ONE QUESTION.... PROPLE SAY THERE ARE NO TREES OR WERE ALL USED UP BY THE POPULATION BY 1650... SO WHY AM I SEEING PALM TREES IN YOUR VIFEOS ?.. WHY DO INTERNET SEARCHES SAY THERE ARRE ONLY 2 TREES ON EASTER ISLAND ?.. OR AM I WRONG ?
Mark I'm curious on how much those same prices for those food products you bought in these vide cost today in the in flated prices? And do another one of these but currently priced
Hey Mark. I remember watching a video you did on how much money your groceries were. They were quite expensive then . How much do you think your food went up in price, since the Ukrain Russian war started. Went the Fool joe biden put sanctions on Everything Russian. Gas and all.
Understandable the feelings that the islanders would have towards outsiders due to the history. I recently watched a documentary on the history of Rapa Nui and it was definitely eye opening. Thanks for sharing these videos with the world at large.
Yeah, you probably should have title the video "how rapa nui people treat me as a foreigner" instead of "a white man", this people don't really care about the color of your skin and you, maybe unintentionally depict them as racist with that title
