I love the enthusiasm but before mami g a career change really look into it. There’s a reason why so many nurses are quitting the profession as a whole and why there’s such a shortage of nurses in different areas
Hey there, love your videos! This was 5 years ago, and I'm circling back to see if you still stand by this opinion? I'm a Health Coach and debating between a Dietetic Technician program (I probably won't spend more than 500-1k) and a Culinary Arts degree with a Culinary Medicine emphasis (about 7k). I've also been looking into a DPD program that leads directly to the DTR certification which is more ideal, to avoid the free-hours of working which I can't afford to do. I would love your professional opinion as to which you feel would be more valuable and sought after?
Recently i came across your videos, those are really useful.Thank you for sharing valuable insights. I have few queries sir I m a dietitian completed master in clinical nutrition in india,i wanna pursue my career in US ,is it easy to get job after completing RDN exam in US or who hasdone masters there ll get a first preferance
Being a woman, when I went plant based, I lost all unnecessary weight I didn’t need anymore, my hair grew 16 inches and it became very thick, my skin was very clear and strong, my eyes were strong and clear, I could hear better, I produced less mucus and ear wax, my monthly cycles became manageable and stable, I gained healthy muscle, I had enough energy, and I always felt light. ✨
Can you get your BA in health science anywhere? When I apply for my Masters it just has to be accredited ? Trying to confirm I spoke to a couple of schools and they were very vague on whether or not they will take BA.
I've been reaching out to many local preceptors online through ACEND about possibly working with them for my internships but haven't received any feedback. I usually send a nice introductory email about myself and ask if they are accepting new students. Any ideas on how to get preceptors for a distance DPD program?
Hello I really need to know that if I have already done Bachelor's in Nutrition And Dietetics and Masters in Nutrition (research based) from India and I want to become RD in America what are the steps I mean a detailed procedure to approach authorities and finances required for the same would be really helpful. Thank you
Thanks for info. I'm also a dietitian & Nutritionist from India. I'm looking forward to work with NASA. But, after I complete My internship n gain some experience in this field as you said in your video. Thank you very much for this valuable info.🙏
Thanks for this video. Im MD1 soon to be MD2 and I want to ask a few questions... Im a personal trainer but I would love to quick medical school to study nutrition being a vegan an all. But lmk if I can email you from Atlanta
I went to this school for the same thing and didn’t know until my last semester that it wasn’t accredited. At the time I didn’t know anything about accredited but I know now.
I came here to get my feelings, validated I’m towards the end of my clinical rotation and unfortunately for me, I had to go to three different hospitals for my advanced rotation, because the initial hospital I was supposed to go to couldn’t take me last minute. What hospital was such a far commute, but I declined going there for too long. Most of my preceptors were great but I had one that I literally could not wait to be finished with. I’m so ready to be done with clinical, only about three weeks left and I get to do some sports nutrition work! I’m excited about that . I hate that clinical is the longest rotation because a lot of us don’t want to do clinical. Thank you for being honest in your video. I feel like so many videos I found have been so cookie cutter and generic.
Is there such a thing as a meat based dietician? 😂 I noticed my mental state and physical performance is best on a carnivore diet where I am eating mainly 1 big meal of meat a day and organ meats too.
Diabetic educator certification has now expanded to health educators and other types of health care providers via unique pathway qualification or if you have MCHES.
Please I need to ask you a question about being licensed in Oklahoma. I am confused with the forms. What a provisional dietitian means? How she is different from the licensed dietitian. I am really confused. Thank you
I'm a nurse but I'm passionate about nutrition. so I was thinking about adding an RD to the end of my name, cuz why not? Everything you said about nursing is true lol I love it. Thanks for the fair warning man. You've got me thinking twice
Thank you very much for making it so easy on everyone. But I still have a question for you. could we save the study plan on the computer instead of using a flash drive or the system does not allow to save the plan on computer?
I think there's a lot of good information in this, but also a lot of misleading information. For example, a nurse practitioner and a PA are not the same. Although they share a lot of similarities, two entirely different programs with two entirely different requirements. Secondly, the national average for a registered dietitian is exceedingly higher than 40,000. While it's not nearly as high as it probably should be, it's roughly between 60 and 80,000. That's also entry level. There's a lot of opportunities to branch off in dietetics. You can own your own practice, work at hospitals, sports organizations, schools, government, etc. The list goes on.
Im no expert at all, but my best guess to why dieticians are underpaid is because the healthcare industry makes most of their money from drugs aka medicine. And also the healthcare industry thrives on people who are sick, injured, and dis-eased. Rather it be mentally or physically. The last thing they need is a bunch of dieticians improving people's health through better nutrition, which also taking up all the money. Think about it... The healthcare industry is heavily funded by the government and other organizations rather it be public or private. This money is used to pay the workers (doctors, nurses, surgeons, nutritionists, etc). The money is also used for equipment. But also money comes from insurance which is also heavily funded by the government. Also why do you think they emphasize having health insurance so much. Before I go any further the point is that they are not about to pay dieticians hundreds of thousands of dollars per year to improve peoples health which in turn would lead to people not getting sick and having stronger immune systems. The last thing they need is a dietician who figures out a meal plan to cure cancer 😅. They would much rather have folks eating mcdonalds and raising their blood pressure and developing all kinds of heart dis-eases and cancers, diabetes, etc. So if you ask me they are trying to keep as few dieticians and nutritionists in the healthcare industry as possible. In a way its like they are literally trying to discourage people from pursuing the career in the first place. I was 100% all in on becoming one until seeing this video. I will now be looking into nursing. They say follow the money and you'll find the truth. I bet the folks who made the C-19 vaccine made alot of money 😅. And I bet you alot of people in the Health Scare industry would start losing jobs if people started to eat more healthy 😂
