24:22 I like to think that this dragon in this D&D is actually a real threat/character, that prey on special adventurers, but they can only manifest themselves into reality when its preys are distracted. But as soon as they are focussed, it flies away into ether, waiting for the next opportunity.
Being in a very slow-moving campaign with 2 new players (it has taken 13 months to complete 60 hours of game time), I am encouraging them to watch this series. It's a real treat to watch a group work so well together to have fun as well as achieve objectives. I may be slightly jealous . . . I was part of a crazy group in the 90's and 2000's where we had much laughter in D&D, Rolemaster, and (mainly) VtM and really miss those mad weekends where we would start at 7:30 on Friday evening and play until 3:30 on Sunday afternoon.
Funny thing that I once seen Yarris Goldhorn in the comments and he said that he is follower of Sir Vey now. I was hoping to see his comment again under that video.
Rob accidentally quoting the rainbow song and creating yellow chromatic dragons, Alan breathing a sigh of relief when no one notices, whispering "not canon"
Always love watching Rob and the gang, but props to the music department on this one! It does for this session what the green screen does for ENPC DnD.
Wow, I knew DnD had some unbalanced monsters, but that Banshee was new to me. That ability must have been created by one of the bigger player haters - or "fuck balance, it sounds cool" guys - around. In games like this one, where there are hero points, there even is some failsafe. But thats not standard in DnD, so in theory, thats just an instant TPK for some unlucky groups. One test, everyone dead. (When everyone is down, 0HP might as well be dead). And since there could be more than one Banshee, the fun stays if someone survives the test. Alright, there are some classes that have a very high chance to prevail, but still, a monster that can in one action just eradicate the whole group it opposes, while being - from the games perspective - a correct Challenge for this group - thats just pure wrong (Would be different when taking on something super overpowered like Tyrallian, who even had an explicit warning label [GM informed] on him). But hey, at least this Banshee could also instakill a whole group of any level. Level 20 group? Ah, just send 5 Banshees after them, that takes care of it. Horrible idea of an ability. I like to imagine abilities in the hand of players to judge them - or compare them to possible abilities of theirs. So far I can only see Several Power Word: Kill (Although that would be stronger), Meteor Swarm or Wish being of a comparable danger. Which are 9th Level spells. Surely not imbalanced for a Monster that it is intended as a challenge for 4 Lvl 4 players.
Been binging this series so hard through the last week or two, and damn its so good to see you guys getting the tavern - its crazy amazing! Love from Denmark
I wanted to see if there was any combination of 54321 or 12345, the first was a no, but I found one of the second: 1 / 2 + 3 x 4 - 5 = 9 Really proud of myself too =)
This reminds me of when in episode 70 (or something around there) Greg used his butterfly impersonation to clear the fog around this lake. The fog cleared in a path to the center and in the center was a sign that said you win dnd congratulations. 😂 He rolled a 5 on this and it was all a joke but it was so funny 😂
22:18 "That's the joke." That is not the joke, the joke is that Rowan is dumb and called out "Captain America" the first time the threw the hammer. Also, 60ft is the hammer's long range, he should be rolling at disadvantage.
